One of the first places I ate when I visited Worcester a few years back was Dragon Dynasty. Driving along, famished and lost, I remember getting a whiff of the food though my window passing by. I turned around, pulled in, and ate. Since then, (mostly due to the location) I've been a pretty regular customer, ordering at least once or twice a month. Menu is quite extensive, although I typically limit myself to the lo mein and some kind of appetizer. Food is quality and usually pretty quick to order up. Staff is super friendly and, unlike a lot of other places, is very easy to understand (no accent). It was my first time trying to do taking out here. It's an unpretentious place on Highland Street. All the food are sold reasonably priced. Chinese bosses are kind and warm-hearted, and they delivered me a sense of hometown taste when trying the food at their place. Many customers are students, and sometimes, I could see many people who just got off work and entered into the place to take their food out. This place is run by a couple young down to earth Chinese American guys (I think, or at least they are always in there when I go) in the middle of Worcester down the road from the hospital, DCU and Colleges. The prices are amazing and I can only assume attract a lot of business. The food is really good for American Chinese. My Asian friends who pride themselves on genuine Chinese food would definitely not like it but for the price and a hangover, it does the trick! The one thing I would say bothers me is the chicken wings. They are more of a flaky KFC type of wing than what I am used to finding at these types of places. You are not coming here to impress anyone, but the ameri-Chinese food is what you'd likely get at the mall with the added charm of metal folding chairs in the dining room. The won ton soup is actually quite good, cheap and hot-- perfect for a cold winter night. For this area, and I would say even further out, this is really good chinese food. Let me first compliment them where it matters most, the service. The 2 women there that I've encountered, both were very friendly and polite, well spoken, smiling, joking at times, so happy...and this meant all the difference in the world when comparing to other restaurants, or choosing where to spend your hard earned money. There is also a gentleman there, who was equally the same, and even apologetic when an item was missed in my previous order, which one of the two women apologized for and offered to correct the mistake. When I came in the next day, I called prior to going in, and spoke with the gentleman. He gave no hassle, was very polite, smiling, and apologized and wished me a happy holiday. Amazing...... Now, the food......very good, especially for this area. The mandarin chicken is a fav, the orange chicken just as good, I did not taste the egg foo young sauce as that was the item missing from my order, but nothing was wrong with the egg foo young itself (but we all know it comes down to the gravy/sauce). The rice goes to normal to good, and I'd like to see more meat inside it. The chicken fingers.....out of maybe 6 different orders/plates with it included, not once were they over cooked, always golden and juicy....addictive. Duck sauce is like 90% New England (boston) style, so it's delicious. If you're not aware we have our own style of duck sauce....google around. They even cooked the chicken fingers in the sweet n' sour sauce for me, as most restaurants out of Boston don't do; you know, with the pineapples, and onions, peppers, etc., so yum..). It did not include all of those things in it, but they made it for me, and it was still good. They chicken wings were surprisingly good as well, chicken teriyaki was good, sometimes running a little dryer than hoped for, which is kind of common for chicken teriyaki it seems. Sesame chicken was normal good. Boneless spare ribs had more sauce than the other places around, still wish for a little more, but no complaint at all. Ma po tofu was okay, not a failure, but not in the running for one of the better tasting ones I've had. All in all, money well spent, great and amazing service, and great food. If all other chinese restaurants in the area have failed you, you can make the last stop here. Before this, I thought Chef Ho was going to be the good/good enough spot, and I'd still eat there, but.... this is great food. Chef Ho was good service as well. Red pepper was disappointing, and you already know my other reviewed spot, which was nice as well, but the food was not for me. This 5 star rating is based on all factors, and area options. I will say, it's been a few months since I've eaten here. After my first and only experience, I won't be returning. I'm extremely surprised reading the comments on here that seem to point towards "friendly service". I've never been treated so poorly at the restaurant before. Working in the restaurant industry for 10+ years, I know it can be tough. I'm extremely empathetic to people who work these types of jobs. I spoke to the person behind the register with kindness & respect and it definitely wasn't reciprocated. Living in/around the Worcester area for years- I have driven by this place for years... But the outside made me think it was just going to be gross Chinese food, so I never tried it. It's much, much, much better than most cheap Chinese places, but it still qualifies as a cheap Chinese place. The quality is consistent and everything appears fresh-to-order. I like that they allow me to customize one of their lunch specials and don't charge me extra (shrimp and broccoli stir fried with only soy sauce). Such things go a long way in my book. Dragon Dynasty is still my favorite Chinese food take-out restaurant. This place can't be beat for late night Chinese, it was a staple of life during college and was well within walking distance.
