From the wall art, to the menu, to the old fashioned gum ball machine with... you guessed it... Dragon Balls! I loved every minute. What was even better was my girlfriends face as she looked around, finally meeting my over accentuated grin and asked the question that opened the door for me to gush like a 16 year old nerd, "What the hell is this?" We have been coming here since we moved up to conroe a few months ago, and having tried MANY other boba/noodle shops in the area, this spot cannot be beat. Not only the atmosphere of the facility, but the workers' kind and friendly engagement with us and other customers make for a comforting experience! One server in particular... ms. Rebekah... I can't say enough positive words about her. Her kind and welcoming attitude never fails to warm our hearts as we step into this beautiful establishment. A very fun Pho restaurant for anyone that is into Dragonball Z and 90s anime. Walking in, you're immediately greeted by all the Dragonball Z art and merchandise. They even play old school episodes on the tv by the bar. Just the atmosphere alone is enough for most Dragonball Z fans. The food is also good with large portions and the ability to customize the spice levels (cleverly named after Super Saiyan levels). I got the Dragon Bowl Pho which was a savory pho. With it I had shrimp tempura and crab rangoon, both delicious. I couldn't finish everything. Definitely recommend this spot for any Pho or Dragonball enthusiast. Had the opportunity to try the newly opened dragon bowls. Great set up visually, Enjoyed the art they have on display. Service was friendly and efficient. This was my order: Potstickers: delicious texture and flavor Spring rolls: perfectly crispy and delicious Pho-Geta: Tofu, Bok Choy, Bean Sprouts, Corn, Enoki mushroom GoGo Noodle: Spicy Stir Fry Asian Noodles The broth beef in the pho was delicious and all of the ingredients paired really well together. Loved the Enoki mushrooms. The stir fry noodles were a perfect combination of spicy ramen with tender steak. The scallions and corn really pair well and the sauce brings all the flavors together. This is one of my favorite new spots and I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. I highly recommend giving them a try the next time you are in the area! I ordered 2 "build a bowl" with the S2 spice level... the only problem is the actual spice! I underestimated the level of spic!!! I typically eat spicy food so I definitely wanted a broth with a bit of a kick... this was so much spicier than I expected!! Finally decided to try this place. I ordered a "make your own bowl" with ramen, corn, beef broth and level 3 spice. Fiance ordered something different, can't remember the name (but I know he choose the reddish sauce) and an egg roll. After waiting 47 mins for our food, we both ended up with something we didn't order. I ended up with ramen, vegetable broth with meatballs, brisket, beef and chicken and no spice. The meatballs definitely had the texture of such which was disgusting to say the least. His order had plain beef broth and not the broth he originally had ordered and consisted of primarily mushroom which ruined the overall taste of the dish. I give 2 stars since they did offer to remake it but we denied since we were already there over an hour after ordering and waiting on food, so they did thankfully give us a refund. My husband loves dragon ball so when I seen a tiktok video, I knew I had to bring him. The shop is tiny upon walking in. During the day, the bar next door is available to sit down to eat. The prices were pretty steep. I wasn't a huge fan of what I got. The meats were an odd combination to have with pho. Their take on bbq and meatballs added in. To each their own, so I know some people would enjoy it. All in all, for the price point I was expecting much more but left a little disappointed. First off, let me begin by saying that I want this place to succeed. Conroe really needs more diversity with it's restaurants and things to do downtown. Pros: The staff seem very attentive and nice. My family has met the owner who seems very active in the area and speaks highly of his demeanor and ambitions. You can take your food to the pub adjacent to the restaurant and share the table space, which is super creative and smart for business. I hope more places follow this business model, as we have been to many other places it seems to work out well. Cons: However, being a lover of ramen and pho, with experiencing many restaurants in other states and from DFW, this place needs work on the prep and flavor profiles. First, the kimchi fries were almost inedible. Freezer bag fries with COLD kimchi dumped on top of them. They were saturated and cold. I've never had kimchi fries where the kimchi wasn't chopped up and flashed grilled with the sauces incorporated before placing on the fries. This really needs to be addressed for $13! The seasoned eggs that came with the ramen were very hard boiled and obviously came right out of the refrigerator (still cold inside), and the curry broth tasted like milk-water, also I interesting because the hubby and I requested spicy when asked at the counter how we prefer our food. If I were to compare this place to Jinya, EAD, or other places we've tried in the area, there's just isn't a comparison... I'm sure I'll give this place another go in the future, but only because my sister likes it (excluding this experience)..but I'll be cautious before ordering a lot off the menu like we did our initial visit and not feel as if $75 was ridiculous for what we were served. Again, it would be nice to see this place succeed. The majority of the reviews seem to be great, but with the other places we've had the opportunity to dine, we know DBC can be better. Awesome fusion spot where the build your own bowl option really is nice. Multiple styles of noodles and broths and to be honest I would give someone 6 stars for the Vegeta statue alone as he is my favorite character in anime. BUT, the lack of the 5 star was for one reason, the meat in the ramen was not 5-star level. Soup was still really good, pot stickers were awesome, workers were very friendly, and the DBZ vibe in the main LITTLE area was great. I have been to some of the BEST ramen and pho places in the country but this one is IT. I ordered their Dragon Pho with the curry soup after the server recommended it, and it was DELICIOUS. We also ordered the potstickers which were flavored so well with a tang and a little heat and very crispy. Sooo good. For drinks we did the exploding boba in a fruit tea - and we will be back with our Dragon Bowl cups for a refill discount with them! Dessert was a spiced fried apple filled eggroll. One of my Canadian friends knows that I am a fan of Dragon Ball so when she saw a video featuring this place, she sent it to me and I had to try it. The woman working the front was the nicest and most helpful person that you can get. It seemed she was really knowledgeable about the menu. I got the Sayian Bowl and it was really good. From ordering, it probably took 7 or 8 minutes to get the food. The interior of the place is small, but it is connected to a pub where you can sit and eat if that is your preferences. My daughter was in from out of town and is a big anime fan. She lived in Korea for two years teaching and loves Asian food. Counter girl helped us with ordering and was very nice. My wife and I picked different types of noodles just to try them. Unfortunately when we got our food we had the same exact noodles. I got the dragon bowl pho, wife got some type of ramen and my daughter got one of the noodle dishes. We each got a different type egg roll appetizer. The egg rolls ended up the star of the show. They were very good. Our entrees below average to average at best. They looked nothing like the menu picture. I had no egg in my pho and it was almost all broth which was mostly tasteless. I came here with my children all the way from College Station, after watching a reel of this place on IG, I was nervous about the space and the seating inside the place, after reading so many negative reviews on IG, BUT they have plenty of tables (even high chairs for babies)in the bar that's connected to it and it's pack of families happily eating and enjoying. I've ordered food here about 4 or 5 times now, and every time I walk away thinking "Not worth the money." To be honest, I order it for my girlfriend who loves this place. Yes, the food does taste good. Yes, their DBZ menu puns are clever. Yes, they have a cool vibe in the restaurant (small place). What gets me are their food portions. For starters, the amount of noodles they give you is...ok. Not great, but ok. I'm alright with this if other things, let's say the protein, is of a good portion. Nope. I've ordered brisket here a couple of times and opted out of the "extra meat" option as I usually do not feel the need to do this at other places. I had, at best, broken brisket chunks. For anyone that has ever seen a full pan of sliced brisket, imagine when it is all gobbled up and you have those residual little pieces (perhaps chunks?) of brisket that fell off of the slices at the bottom of the pan - that's exactly what I mean. The next couple of times I ordered extra meat ($4) , I either got a little more of those broken up pieces or...if I was lucky...I got a couple RAZOR THIN pieces of brisket. In my opinion, this place is overpriced and playing off of the DBZ/anime crowd. It's good to see a restaurant like this in the Conroe area, but dang, let's increase the portion size just a little to justify the prices you want your customers to pay. read more
