I placed a pickup order on a Thursday night and it was my first time trying Oishi. Went inside and the restaurant was clean and ready for the dinner rush. There were a few tables taken up and the host was bouncing back and force seating couples and bringing carry out orders forward from the kitchen. The host and staff were really nice while I waited a few minutes before my order was ready. Packaging was solid and nothing tipped over and had plenty chopsticks and shoyu packets. The Red Dragon and Dynamite rolls were my favorite. The Akuma was an 8/10 only bc spicy crab is a hit or miss for me - to be fair I ate 5/8 of them. Our server Marco was quick and engaging, the food came out in a timely manner, and the restaurant had a good atmosphere. Reasonable price for AYCE but there's a separate menu for sashimi they didn't tell us about. The seafood soup was like a basic miso, but the fish tasted great and was cut thick! Just happened to find this place whenever I jumped on Yelp. I love sushi, and I will say this was pretty fresh. I really enjoyed the avocado salad dressing, it reminded me of Yum Yum sauce. We went here with some friends for my husband's birthday. They gave us the party room because there were 10 of us and it was nice to have the space since we did have a lot of kids too. Service was great. Could have been a little more personable but they were not unkind and were very prompt. Probably didn't make a lot of conversation because there were a lot of us chatting. The ambiance of this place is so nice. Not fine dining but it doesn't feel cheap like a lot of AYCE sushi places do. It feels like they really care and the place was CLEAN. For the price, the food is outstanding. The sushi was fresh, the hibachi was tasty, and the food didn't take too long to come out either. The one thing we didn't like was the automatic 18% gratuity for a large party. I understand why they do it but we would have given more than 18% if there was no automatic gratuity. We'll be back! This place is a hidden gem for now. They just open about 8 months ago & I doubt anyone knows it's an amazing place because the whole shopping center is pretty new. Restaurant was super clean. My husband's eyes are always too big for his stomach and he kept saying that he would finish everything he ordered. It didn't happen y'all. She kindly told us that they do charge for any leftovers here. 50 cents to a dollar per piece of sushi. It's very understandable and honestly not a bad up charge to be able to also take it home. They have two different AYCE options, regular or deluxe. Not much of a price difference so we opted for deluxe since it also came with a drink of your choice. Sushi rolls were huge. Some we ordered were good, some were mediocre. The sashimi was fresh tasting and delicious. Highly recommend the "akuma" roll and the "black dragon" roll. My parents loved the hibachi option and my kids enjoyed the fried rice. Do not recommend the roll with cream and the jalapeño popper. It was just too much cream cheese. The fried Oreos here with ice cream were delicious. My husband wanted the fried cheesecake but our server warned that it was a pretty hefty slice so he didn't order. Really like this place and have been twice this week. The sushi and service is really good. I am giving it a 4 because the hibachi steak and shrimp is just okay and not up to standard like a Japanese Steak House. So here is my advice. Get the gyoza, miso soup and even a garden salad while you wait for your sushi which is fresh made. All items are delivered to your table. Get one of the specialty rolls which are deep fried and pretty filling. Get a normal roll or two or a roll and a few pieces of assorted sushi. This last time I ate 3 specialty rolls and I wasn't as happy as I was with the previous strategy. If you go for lunch there isn't a dessert but if you go for dinner maybe save room for fried Oreos, fried cheese cake or greenies ice cream. The price is right $17 for lunch and $27 for dinner which has a expanded menu. Of course with taxes, tips and drinks it will be a bit more. read more

Now, the rolls weren't terrible just not my favorite the spicy tuna didn't have much spice and I just felt it was kinda meh. I went opening day and it was definitely not a great experience. But I am glad I gave them another chance. Atmosphere - It's pretty bare bones, but the bathrooms are lovely. The front bar is actually very very nice but it does feel a little bit mismatched. Food - Compared to other locations that do all you can eat like Chi, This selection that they offer feels very limited. Especially for their raw rolls. If you are somebody that likes fully cooked or deep fried sushi, you will find a decent amount of selection. I personally prefer non spicy items and there's very few things to choose from. However in general everything was good. Value - I think the value here is very good. And the reason why is you also get a drink included with your meal. There is a small up charge for imported alcohol. But you can have a fruit tea or a glass of wine or domestic beer. Service - Service is decent, but it's a little all over the place. Because you don't actually really know who. Your server is versus who is bringing you food. You don't know who the flagged down, and who to follow up with when something is missing or there is some kind of issue. Do expect that you are going to have to ask for either a sharing plate, soy sauce or ginger and wasabi. If you want to get the biggest bang for your buck, definitely go at lunch. read more

One Star - Disappointing Service Ruined the Experience I rarely leave bad reviews, but our visit here was beyond frustrating. We waited over 20 minutes before a server even came to our table. When he finally did, my husband was on a quick call, so the server walked away and didn't return for another 17 minutes. When he finally came back, my husband tried to ask a simple question about the menu, but mid-sentence the server walked away again to take an order at another table. No apology, no acknowledgment just left us hanging. I received only one sushi roll during the entire visit, and it wasn't even brought by our server. When we asked to speak with a manager, they told us the server had "too many tables" as if that explained or excused the lack of attention or basic courtesy. We left feeling completely dismissed and hungry. With so many great sushi spots out there, I strongly suggest skipping this one.
