Heard about Oishi Sushi and thought we would try it out for my granddaughter's birthday as she is a big fan of sushi. We were politely greeted and seated very quickly. We had a fairly large group and we all choose the all you can eat option which was a very good deal. The food here was outstanding. Many different types of sushi and sashimi to choose from and everything was delicious. Not a bad piece was had by anyone in the group. The service here was fantastic and the wait staff was quick and on top of everything. My biggest complaint was that the kitchen kept mixing up the orders for all the individuals and as they brought out the plates the dishes were mixed on the platter and no one, including the waiter was sure who got what. There were even a lot of dishes we did not even receive and had to reorder. I know we had a large group and I understand that Oishi Sushi had only just opened a short time ago but I have never had this issue at any sushi restaurant before. Despite the mix up in orders in the kitchen, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the experience at Oishi Sushi and will definitely return to have another meal here read more

I placed a pickup order on a Thursday night and it was my first time trying Oishi. Went inside and the restaurant was clean and ready for the dinner rush. There were a few tables taken up and the host was bouncing back and force seating couples and bringing carry out orders forward from the kitchen. The host and staff were really nice while I waited a few minutes before my order was ready. Packaging was solid and nothing tipped over and had plenty chopsticks and shoyu packets. The Red Dragon and Dynamite rolls were my favorite. The Akuma was an 8/10 only bc spicy crab is a hit or miss for me - to be fair I ate 5/8 of them. So yes I ate 21/24 pieces of sushi yes it was that good! read more

We have now stopped here a few times for AYCE (all you can eat) lunch sushi. Price is $16-$17 per person. This is an amazing deal!! Place has a pleasant setting, great service and delicious sushi. Is it the very best sushi I have ever had? No But for AYCE, it is the best! Fresh and delicious and you can start with miso soup or seaweed salad. This is our favorite stop when we find ourselves in Conroe. This is well worth your time and money when looking for a healthy and reasonable lunch place. read more

Just happened to find this place whenever I jumped on Yelp. I love sushi, and I will say this was pretty fresh. I really enjoyed the avocado salad dressing, it reminded me of Yum Yum sauce. Our waitress was a sweetheart! Very patient with us Also, do not over order, as they want to charge you for what they eat. Not your normal, but just be sure to order slow. The sushi rolls are larger than you think. read more

Our server Marco was quick and engaging, the food came out in a timely manner, and the restaurant had a good atmosphere. Reasonable price for AYCE but there's a separate menu for sashimi they didn't tell us about. The seafood soup was like a basic miso, but the fish tasted great and was cut thick! The tuna tataki and yellowtail jalapeño appetizers were great too! Give it a try! read more

Oishi Sushi - Sashimi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Conroe, Texas

We went here with some friends for my husband's birthday. They gave us the party room because there were 10 of us and it was nice to have the space since we did have a lot of kids too. Service was great. Could have been a little more personable but they were not unkind and were very prompt. Probably didn't make a lot of conversation because there were a lot of us chatting. The ambiance of this place is so nice. Not fine dining but it doesn't feel cheap like a lot of AYCE sushi places do. It feels like they really care and the place was CLEAN. For the price, the food is outstanding. The sushi was fresh, the hibachi was tasty, and the food didn't take too long to come out either. The one thing we didn't like was the automatic 18% gratuity for a large party. I understand why they do it but we would have given more than 18% if there was no automatic gratuity. We'll be back! Give this place a try. read more

Really cute and laid back place. Service was great, everyone is super kind and helpful. The rolls were delicious and great portions

Best and fresh sushi in Conroe! We love going here as a family and on date nights. Portion sizes are good too! Staff is friendly and helpful. read more

This place is a hidden gem for now. They just open about 8 months ago & I doubt anyone knows it's an amazing place because the whole shopping center is pretty new. Restaurant was super clean. Restrooms could've been better. I was happily surprised to see how big it actually was. There was a whole other section by the sushi bar. Our server was fast, knowledgeable and super sweet and nice. My husband's eyes are always too big for his stomach and he kept saying that he would finish everything he ordered. It didn't happen y'all. She kindly told us that they do charge for any leftovers here. 50 cents to a dollar per piece of sushi. It's very understandable and honestly not a bad up charge to be able to also take it home. They have two different AYCE options, regular or deluxe. Not much of a price difference so we opted for deluxe since it also came with a drink of your choice. Sushi rolls were huge. Some we ordered were good, some were mediocre. The sashimi was fresh tasting and delicious. Highly recommend the "akuma" roll and the "black dragon" roll. My parents loved the hibachi option and my kids enjoyed the fried rice. Do not recommend the roll with cream and the jalapeño popper. It was just too much cream cheese. The fried Oreos here with ice cream were delicious. My husband wanted the fried cheesecake but our server warned that it was a pretty hefty slice so he didn't order. We had a great time here and ate so good. We will definitely be coming back! read more

Today after work, I came here to have dinner. I like to have sushi and sashimi for dinner, so I went to Oishi Sushi. The food was alright, and the waitress was very nice. The restaurant did not have that many customers because its location is in a hidden area. read more

Really like this place and have been twice this week. The sushi and service is really good. I am giving it a 4 because the hibachi steak and shrimp is just okay and not up to standard like a Japanese Steak House. So here is my advice. Get the gyoza, miso soup and even a garden salad while you wait for your sushi which is fresh made. All items are delivered to your table. Get one of the specialty rolls which are deep fried and pretty filling. Get a normal roll or two or a roll and a few pieces of assorted sushi. This last time I ate 3 specialty rolls and I wasn't as happy as I was with the previous strategy. If you go for lunch there isn't a dessert but if you go for dinner maybe save room for fried Oreos, fried cheese cake or greenies ice cream. The price is right $17 for lunch and $27 for dinner which has a expanded menu. Of course with taxes, tips and drinks it will be a bit more. read more

Let me just say this first! Please try the clear soup, I did at the end of our meal and it was amazing. Had 3 bowls. 1. Ambiance was very clean and a nice lighting 2. Service was fantastic. Staff was very helpful and friendly and patient with us for being our first time. 3. Price was very decently priced 4. Food, we had mixed feelings. - appetizers were very good. We got potstickers that only came fried but good - eggs rolls were really good 5. Sushi on the other hand was very disappointing. - I'm not big on cream cheese in rolls. But we both felt the they put way too much cream cheese in the rolls, it was almost overpowering from the roll. - the (crunch) or bead topping was also too much and was in everything and almost every roll. - I got a hand roll with spicy tuna and the spicy tuna part had so much crunch inside of it. Killed the taste read more

I think this location was just alright I don't see myself going out of my way due to quality of sushi but again you get what you pay for. We came for the aye lunch which is about $16-17 a person. We tried the gyoza which was my favorite part of the meal those are pretty solid. Miso soup was okay a little on the sweet side but not bad. Now, the rolls weren't terrible just not my favorite the spicy tuna didn't have much spice and I just felt it was kinda meh. I agree with others that it seems there are some things lacking and its the same things on repeat (shrimp, crab, tuna,). It is a new spot so maybe they are just working out the kinks and will improve overtime. The location is nice and the restaurant itself is really nice. read more

I went opening day and it was definitely not a great experience. But I am glad I gave them another chance. Atmosphere - It's pretty bare bones, but the bathrooms are lovely. The front bar is actually very very nice but it does feel a little bit mismatched. Food - Compared to other locations that do all you can eat like Chi, This selection that they offer feels very limited. Especially for their raw rolls. If you are somebody that likes fully cooked or deep fried sushi, you will find a decent amount of selection. I personally prefer non spicy items and there's very few things to choose from. However in general everything was good. Value - I think the value here is very good. And the reason why is you also get a drink included with your meal. There is a small up charge for imported alcohol. But you can have a fruit tea or a glass of wine or domestic beer. Service - Service is decent, but it's a little all over the place. Because you don't actually really know who. Your server is versus who is bringing you food. You don't know who the flagged down, and who to follow up with when something is missing or there is some kind of issue. Do expect that you are going to have to ask for either a sharing plate, soy sauce or ginger and wasabi. If you want to get the biggest bang for your buck, definitely go at lunch. read more

Very kind staff. The food was great. It wasn't overly loud. We will be back. The hibachi was very good, as well as the sushi. Do not order the Tracy roll unless you truly adore sweet potato and want a roll about 4 times the size of a normal roll. read more

One Star - Disappointing Service Ruined the Experience I rarely leave bad reviews, but our visit here was beyond frustrating. We waited over 20 minutes before a server even came to our table. When he finally did, my husband was on a quick call, so the server walked away and didn't return for another 17 minutes. When he finally came back, my husband tried to ask a simple question about the menu, but mid-sentence the server walked away again to take an order at another table. No apology, no acknowledgment just left us hanging. I received only one sushi roll during the entire visit, and it wasn't even brought by our server. When we asked to speak with a manager, they told us the server had "too many tables" as if that explained or excused the lack of attention or basic courtesy. We left feeling completely dismissed and hungry. With so many great sushi spots out there, I strongly suggest skipping this one. Poor service can ruin even the best food and sadly, we didn't even get to find out if the food was worth it. read more

Nice all you can eat spot. We did the AYCE sushi. The sushi options are a little lacking and most of the rolls seem like the same kinds of fish variations- shrimp tempura, crab, spicy tuna, salmon. My least favorite was the spicy tuna hand roll. I don't know why they put in the roll but it was dripping with oil. They also had crumbled tempura in the spicy tuna mixture, which is weird. The service was also super lacking. We had to ask for basic things like plates, soy sauce bowls, chop sticks, napkins, ginger, and wasabi. read more

We ordered the salmon roll, avocado roll, fried calamari, gyoza, salad, and the Fire Stone. Virgl was our waiter and was awesome. The sushi was fresh, tasted great, and the decor was clean and stylish. Our waiter was patient, explained the all-you-can-eat system they have, and was joyful when he stopped by. He was an addition to our night. We'll be back. read more

First eat-in experience in years. After seated, in highly visible spot near the entrance, took awhile to get noticed. Service was fine then. Hibachi disappointed - shrimp was overcooked, seemed weird to have noodles And rice, but that fried rice was Great. Fresh fish poke bowl was good. Nice energetic atmosphere. On the lake a bonus. It is in a corner, so parking is at a minimum. But the shopping center is made for walking around. read more

The service can't be beat! Everyone is so friendly and quick to offer explanations and recommendations. Some of the portions are absolutely massive. We actually told the wait staff they should offer a small or side order or fried rice because the plate they brought us was so big, even with 4 of us, we still had so much leftover. All of the food tasted fresh and we loved everything we tried. This is our new spot, come check it out! read more

Great new restaurant that will quickly become our go-to sushi place! You have the option to order individual dishes or you can pay a fixed price for as much sushi you'd like. Food was excellent! Looking for a nearby date night location and stumbled across this place and even though we were intrigued by the hot pots our once in a lifetime date night turned for the worse. The manager really needs training on how to treat their employees. I honestly felt terrible over hearing the manger yell at one of the employees in front of the entire restaurant staff. Such embarrassment led us to not recommend to our local friends and neighbors. Coach your employees mistakes don't make them public for your empowerment! Will not be returning. read more
