This place was a hidden gem that I went to with some friends because we were craving some Japanese inspired food. The decor is so cool at the entryway and so inviting. Our host was welcoming and helpful. There is a cool seating area that's like a sunken dining room but we'd have to be barefoot and we had kids and at the time it wasn't ideal but surely will try it out next time. I wished it had some curtains for that area, it would make it even more special for a dining experience. They offer hibachi specials but not the table experience. There is a seating area for the sushi bar that customers can enjoy their sushi selections made fresh. The drink of choice that I got was a lychee martini I think it's called, it's so good! We had some dumplings and ordered the bento boxes. Even ordered some to go as it was so good the bento box selections that they have. We also had the sushi. Everything tasted very delicious. The food is so good I personally always love the sushi the Nemo roll is my favorite the tuna and salmon always taste so fresh, and a good chicken hibachi dinner to throw in the mix once in a while is so good as well. We love coming here! The food is always wonderful. We get the hibachi plates, as they are our favorite! I ordered the shrimp hibachi and my other half ordered the scallop hibachi. The sauces are delicious that are served with the meal. The fried rice is also delicious! We ordered saki (this was my first time to try it) and it was surprisingly good. The egg rolls were perfectly fried and crunchy and the dumplings were delicious! The ginger salad was small, but scrumptious. This is our go to place. We know that times are hard with servers and good service in this industry.. we were a bit thrown off when it took a bit to get someone to come over and greet us for drinks. BUT Chris is so amazing and made sure we were taken care of, and made sure that we didn't leave and had the best time like we always do. Poor service for me and excellent service for everyone else. It's amazing that an Asian restaurant had hardly any Asian employees, and no Asian customers. Granted us, we were Asian, and I saw sooo many people get seated after us, and FAMILIES of people get served before us, order before us, and by the time they got our bill. We just got our food. We sat in for about 20 minutes before even getting water. Was it busy??? What you must be thinking, it was 4:30pm during the weekday. There was only one family in the entire restaurant and the waitress sat us at the booth right next to them. I asked if we could sit at a different booth so we were a little spread out- so she moved us. We then ordered and my sushi roll had a small flying bug on it so I asked her to take it back, which she did. My husband asked for siracha with his roll and she brought it when he had one piece left. When she brought my new roll out she didn't apologize, a manager didn't come apologize or even say anything to us. If I were running a restaurant I would comp that meal or AT LEAST apologize for the bug being in the food. It was never acknowledged and I feel that is poor customer service. I did love this place but don't know if I will go back now. We have been here three times and I keep forgetting to review! The food is delicious and the staff is always very nice. I get the vegetable tempura for an appetizer and the shaggy dog add cream cheese and then deep fried. It's sooooo good. It was a little strange today that while we were eating at our booth the manager brought another man over to measure the booth length with a tape measure. With its darkened windows and subtle signage, Sapporo makes no ostentatious calls to passerbys from the curb, but when we stepped in tonight, we were pleasantly surprised to find a spacious and neatly designed interior. We were greeted warmly in both Japanese and English at the door and informed of the all-day happy hour specials, which not only includes wines, sakes, and beers, but also appetizers and rolls that are priced slightly below the regular menu (though if it's truly an all-day happy hour, why have the higher menu prices at all?). At the strong recommendation of many other Yelpers, we ordered the spicy garlic edamame. With a fiery blend of chili peppers and garlic, as well as a good char from several spins in an incendiary pan, these normally humble bean pods were completely elevated. They surprisingly became one of the tastiest parts of our order. Warning: there is quite a bit of heat to the dressing so try at your own risk if you typically shy away from spice. When my salmon teriyaki bento arrived, I was delighted by the amount and variety of food that came with the order. Along with a well-dressed fish, there was a healthy medley of vegetable and shrimp tempura with plum sauce, a spring roll, a crab puff, a sliced orange, and a miso soup. The salmon was tender and coated with a lovely, ginger-heavy teriyaki sauce. The tempura was relatively standard but I enjoyed making my way through the generous stack. The other sides were unremarkable in flavor but notable for their amount - I was already getting full halfway through the bento. Across the table, my husband quickly slurped his way through his own order of nabeyaki udon and raved about it afterwards. Since we were only a party of two, we were seated at a window booth, but it's hard not to imagine returning with a larger party when you see the attractive six-seaters that are dressed to resemble a traditional tatami room. read more

I am very disappointed with my Ramen. I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen and am very disappointed in it. the eggs are over cooked and should have never made it into the bowl. The Noodles are overcooked and mushy (some people may like it that way but I do not) the Chashu is wafer thin, dry, and mealy with no flavor and the Broth tastes burnt.
