The establishment is well-lit and clean, and the workers are very patient and friendly as one can be overwhelmed by the many choices. I ordered the Fat Boy Bowl, and boy, was it a fat bowl. My only gripe with the bowl is the underwhelming amount of ahi tuna for the price of the bowl. The toppings were more than enough to address the deficit for me. Again, this is no reflection on the establishment itself. I was extremely spoiled by how generous Hawaii is with the portions (they essentially serve 1:1 ratio fish to rice at most locations). I was in the area and figured why not try this poke restaurant since I had already tried the other one In town. Most poke restaurants in Houston seems to have a copycat "fat boy" since U-Maki kind of made it famous, at least in the Houston area. So I tried Poke Chef's version. Theirs only has cooked shrimp, not tempura like some of the competitors. However, my bowl was huge and filled to the brim with everything I asked for. They have no problem giving you double salmon instead of tuna either. There were a lot of asian customers during the time I visited, but also many other races also came in as well. They are in a decent location so I can see why they're so popular. They are playing music in the background here to give the place some ambiance. A great poke experience. I like that the pricing included all the various sides and toppings vs having to be up charged for avocado or other salads. The tuna tasted fresh and a nice bounce to it, the side of vegetables and salads were a good helping had a variety of sauce you could choose from. I'm finding that poke is not a cheap meal in 2025. The staff of friendly and being able to create your own Poké balls I felt like the helpings were on point with the price very clean facility in inviting atmosphere and kind staff. Clean facility a couple of tables for outdoor sitting, which probably wouldn't be ideal from June to August in the Woodlands area. Parking directly in front of the restaurant might be tough, although it does share a very large parking lot to the side in front of Burlington Coat Factory. I've always said it's the sauces that make the poke place. So when a place has ok sauce the poke can only go so far. I tried a variety of sauces and I really didn't find one that suited my palate. I felt that most of them were very strong and overpowering. The young man who served us was very nice, accommodating, and helpful. He helped us out with any questions we had. The ingredients are good, they didn't charge extra for the avocado which is good (in a day and age where they always charge extra for avocado... amirite!??!) Concomitantly it depends on what you get. My bud got a pretty solid concoction and when I tried it I almost regretted that I was too gaudy with my ingredients. I have a slight regret but nonetheless it did a job that it was supposed to which is feed me because I was hungry. However, it's important to note that not everybody writes reviews. Myself personally have never written reviews until today. However, I felt that the world needs to hear my opinion (which is truly insignificant in the grand scheme of things) At the end of the day, what matters the most is your own opinion and the trust you have on your own taste (which should be the only thing you trust).
