So happy that a great new poke spot has opened in the Woodlands!! They pack your bowl to the rim with fresh and delicious ingredients. They have unique ingredients that I've never seen at other poke places! We had a chance to meet the owner, Ming, who was so kind and helpful. My perfect bowl combination: 1. Base: Salad (with the option of adding kale) 2. Protein Size: Regular (2 proteins) 3. Protein: Salmon and BBQ Eel drizzled with unagi sauce!! 4. Mix In: Carrots, Mango, Cucumber, Sweet Corn and Avocado (no extra charge!!) 5. Sauce: Umami Shoyu 6. Topping: Pickled Ginger, Seaweed Salad, Crab Salad, Ika Salad, Masago 7. Coming to change my review. I refrained from giving a one star a few weeks back when we got our salmon bowls. Every other piece of Salmon tasted rotten and spoiled. I allowed a weeks to go by since maybe they had a bad day. Today, we got two salmon bowls spicy and not spicy salmon. And once again, their are pieces of fish that taste disgusting, spoiled and rotten. I don't know if the manager is trying to not waste left over fish and sprinkle it in with fresh fish?!? But, that's IT!! Never going back to eat a surprise bowl of spoiled fish!!! No longer a five star place, I hope nobody gets food poisoning because that's what's going to happen if you don't stop mixing in old spoiled fish with fresher fish!! read more

Oh em gee! I do not live in the woodlands but was staying here for a few days. It was between Poke Chef and one other. Decided on Poke Chef and SO FULL! Love how many different options of toppings there are and minimal up charges. I got a regular size custom bowl and ordered online and woah!.. such a great portion. Meal was ready when I arrived and very friendly staff members. Will definitely be returning when I'm in town. :) read more

Does this place really merit 5 stars? Yep! They hit every mark in my opinion. Great sized portions, reasonable prices especially considering the rarity of the fresh ingredients, creative and customizable menu selection, and friendly staff. This place is a nice family owned business and they make your poke fast. They will let you sample any sauces before you put them on your bowl, and they are real nice about it. The sushi burrito was delicious and had the right amount of rice to other fillings ratio. They have a seriously extensive selection of fresh and authentic ingredients. The place is clean and vibrant, but also good for grabbing food on the go. Lastly, they have a special filtered water machine and it has some of the best tasting free water in Texas-- weird detail-- but important if you are hydro homie! read more

Have had this both delivery and dine in. Great quality both times. First and only poke place I've tried. Service was fast on both occasions. Dine in area is small but if it's not busy it's a place to sit and eat lunch. They do have a few outdoor tables as well. read more

I think I've found my favorite poke place in the Houston area! Let me start off by saying that I've lived in California prior to TX and had really good poke for years. I also spent 3 months in Oahu eating poke almost every weekend and I have to say this poke COMPARES. I got the large make your own bowl so I could have 3 picks for protein: spicy tuna, spicy salmon and bbq eel. I love eel on my sushi, so I had to choose it for my protein here and also because I haven't seen any other poke place offer it. Their spicy ponzu and sriracha aioli sauces among others are also amazing! They do not charge extra for avocado (also a plus compared to most other poke places) and there are so many available toppings. I recommend the seaweed salad too! This is a great poke place and I will definitely be back very soon for all of the flavorful options! read more

This is by far the best Poke place I've found, they are always consistent, I've gotten great portions, toppings, and they always put the right amount of sauce. I've moved to Austin, but every time I visit family in Houston I make it a point to come here, it's that good. If you live out here or are in the area, you gotta hit this place up. Spicy tuna, salad greens, brown rice, seaweed salad, imitation crab, mangoes, Serano peppers, red onions, green onions, pickle ginger, shredded seaweed, Masago, Ponzo sauce, wasabi mayo, Sriracha mayo, cucumbers, Crunchy fried onions, red cabbage, shredded carrots, and edamame. $10.99 Add a protein for three proteins and it's $12.99. And the imitation crab isn't considered a protein! I usually come here on my lunch break when I'm craving a close by poke bowl! They are very generous with their portions and I usually can't finish the amount they give me. Typically I can finish a whole poke bowl to myself but not here! The workers are all also very sweet and polite. It tastes very fresh and I love that they have a seafood salad add on! read more

First-time visit and was pleasantly surprised to find a real authentic poke restaurant. my first time here and the setup was pretty simple I chose to create my own bowl choosing various ingredients of my choosing ( Subway style). I decided on the regular size with my choice of two proteins with sushi rice as a base. Once I added the rest of my ingredients the regular size was more than adequate enough food for two people or leftovers the next day.I was told the only difference between the regular and the large was that large you're able to get your choice of three proteins. My proteins of choice with generous portions of salmon and tuna. It was cool and very fresh as well as all the other ingredients that I chose, and for 11.95 the price was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my bowl and plan to return there often read more

Yea Boi....watching a little tv regarding Hawaiian Street food and Poke came up. Well that led to Yelp and Yelp led to Poke Chef with of these so I figured let's give this a shot. Pulled up to a small place and no customers but committed to go in. Great little staff then the Magic Started piece by piece bit by bit of fresh seafood and ingredients began to build this awesome little bowl of excellence called the "Fat Boy" appropriately named for me Just a little adder of the most tender octopus I've eaten. Of course a tad bit of soy sauce and Sriracha, a pair of chop sticks and oh boy how pleasing a wonderful little dish. So darn good actually ordered a bowl to take home. As I am enjoying this hidden gem people began to pour in so obviously they know. Supper Hungary at work, not able to take a break, wanting Asian food, only place that had good prices, really fresh and yummy looking food and cheap delivery through Ubereats. I had never had them before so I was a little worried that it wasn't going to be a lot of food. Well!!! Everything showed up on time, and everything was delicious! They loaded it with all the veggies and meat I asked for and everything was fresh! I could taste with ever piece of meat I ate to every veggie. At my most recent visit, our server, Jennifer, had such a great attitude. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and gave helpful suggestions without being pushy at all. Though Jinya is known for their ramen, I actually prefer to order their rice bowls! The Pork Chashu is my favorite item here, and their Tokyo Curry Rice is amazing too.
