I have eaten at lots of poke joints in parts of California and Poke Chef is very much comparable in quality. I do work near other poke joints in town/Houston, but this is becoming my favorite poke place. Everything here is fresh, great patient customer service, the portion is larger than the other Houston poke restaurants ( I could eat my poke bowl in 2 meals) ; and they have more free add on sides than other places, like octopus, avocado. If you haven't had a poke bowl before, think of it like deconstructed sushi with lots of healthy greens to it. Skip the rice if you want to keep it low carb. And if you don't like raw fish, they do have chicken, tofu and beef as protein options. Nowadays when I am budgeting and craving for sushi, a bowl of take out poke sufficiently satisfies my sushi craving for much less. read more

Wow! I've been meaning to try this place and finally did today. It's super tasty and the best poke bowl I've had in a long time. I was especially impressed with the amount of options/choices and generous portions (there doesn't seem to be a limit to add-ins). I got the regular size create your own and made two meals out of it. Absolute spectacular!! We decided to try Poke Chef after reading a review in the Woodlands newspaper supplement. The review was point on!! Absolutely fresh fish, excellent combination of flavors enhance with special house sauces. I met Ming at the counter and found him wonderfully personable ( a hard thing to say in these Covid times), a pleasant and knowledgable consultant to my building my own Poke bowel. My wife had the "classic bowel" which she described as delicious and brought back memories of Hawaii!! I built my own with a combination of Unagi and Maguro !! Absolutely wonderful.
