So this summer, I made sure to visit right before the buzzer: we went on the very last day they were open. But they were definitely not just winding down for their last few hours - it was like a party here. When I first walked up, I was told by a very enthusiastic, and very out of breath girl, that I could play against one of the staff members in a game of pickleball or connect 4 and win a free snow cone. I had my son with me and couldn't really lose sight of him while involved in a competitive pickleball game, so they suggested connect 4. They even gave my son something to color while I played. Well, I blew the game and lost. But they still gave me a free shaved ice anyway. And by the way, it was awesome. I will definitely not be waiting until the last day of summer to visit next year. They have approximately 487 flavor options and they use blue bell ice cream if you so choose to add that. We sat at a picnic table and went to town on our deliciousness as we watched people playing games, listening to music and living their best summer lives. I now understand why the reviews are so great here and am looking forward to May already!

I have to admit, I thought it was pretty darn good... that was until I payed a visit to the local shaved ice vendor in Porter: the Southern Belle's Snow Shack. I came for a traditional Piña Colada snowball, no frills. Then I found out that they're one of the few places that offer them "loaded" (which comes with ice cream in the middle and a condensed milk topping). I was kinda skeptical of the combination of the two in Hawaii so I never tried it with the topping, but the attractive stand operator in her southern style floral apron convinced me otherwise. It was the best d*mn snowball I've ever had... I honestly don't know how they do it. More fascinating, that they're located in the heart of small town Porter, TX. I'm convinced that once people catch on, this place is going to become one of those stands people drive miles out of their way to visit. I'll definitely be going back next time I get a sweet tooth.

Love that a flat-top option is available. Also love that they have a "frequent buyers" card (which has now been replaced by reward points via your cell phone number and Square). Buy more, get more! Buzzles can get pretty crowded, especially on hot days. They are open during the winter months, and you can either drive up immediately or wait for one car in front to get their order and then it's your turn. Workers are always very pleasant and give us exactly what we've ordered. Conveniently located for me with parking if you'd like to hop out of your car and walk up to the window to order. Picnic tables are available for you to enjoy if you don't want to drive off and eat your snow cone in the car. You know I'll be back!

I didn't want to cause a scene so I didn't return back. I changed the spoon out and I noticed that the worker put tons of syrup in the cup to make an illusion of ice. The snow cone wasn't all the way filled up anyway to begin with. Also, the flavor tasted EXPIRED. It was a weird taste. I really would at least like a free snowcone or my money back. It was horrible!
