I went to the restaurant on a Thursday night, first time there. On special is 1/2 price burgers and fries. They have a nice selection of different types of burgers. I ordered the pepper jack burger. It actually had spice. I am not sure if they use really good cheese or spices but flavorful and tasty. You get a big juicy burger, a bun that can handle all the fixings and yummy crinkle cut fries! I came from NY and had draft picks for the first time. We were a party of 5 and we ordered about 40 wings. Additionally, we ordered a crispy chicken sandwich. The types of wings we ordered were barbecue, buffalo, and habanero.Our waitress couldn't hear us and we had to yell our orders from how loud the music was. Our order came wrong and the waitress said she couldn't do anything about it and the manager said he wasn't going to issue us a refund. About half of the wings we didn't eat because they were the wrong order. Also, the Crispy chicken sandwich was horrible. The chicken was slapped on to the bun, and the sauce put on there was very messy. It was very disgusting and I couldn't finish my food. I came to see a band playing which was good but there was no room to dance. I didnt see the point and would avoid this venue if you would like to dance to your favorite bands. Totally overpriced for what is basically fast food. The drinks are a total rip off. We went during happy hour on a Thursday and the place was mostly empty. The bartender barely says hello. Not a single smile the time we were there. Had some drinks and some food and then she tells us she's leaving as asks if we could pay instead of transfer the bill. We do and give her a huge tip because I have been in the service industry. Then we pick up with a new bartender and had a few more drinks. The low and behold the bartender we just paid is back at the bar working when she said she was leaving. I don't get it ?? I'm convinced the bill was jacked up too. The old days of buying a round for people that hook you up are nowhere to be found there. It's basically Chili's or TGI Friday's. Except those places have better food and service. I was very curious to check out Draft Picks since I live nearby, so my husband and I anxiously awaited their opening. We finally made our way over there last Saturday and were very happy with our visit. First off, this place is huge. I'm happy to see they've taken full advantage of the space with a large bar, plenty of tables, and tons of TVs. I've been to this location when it was another bar and a Mexican restaurant. Really hoping Draft Picks sticks around despite the venue's history! They offer an extensive beer list, full bar, and enticing bar food menu. To start we had the pretzel bites with cheddar cheese sauce ($7.95). Pretty good, but a little too much salt for my liking. I ordered the Draft Picks Burger ($11.95) which includes a 10 oz burger, avocado, chihuahua cheese, lettuce, tomato & chipotle mayo on a brioche bun. It comes with your choice of side -- fries or cole slaw, and a pickle. Or you can substitute seasoned waffle fries, tater tots or onion rings (add $1). Or go the healthiest route and add a side salad for $2. I went with the waffle fries (with a side of ranch for dipping) which were very good. Guess I'll be healthier next time around? My burger sounded and looked a lot more amazing than it actually was to be honest. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but nothing extraordinary. Hubbie had the turkey burger (lettuce, tomato & chipotle mayo) and added an egg on top. He chose onion rings for his side. No complaints there. Our waitress was nice and checked in on us pretty often. Our bill was a little more than we expected, but we did upgrade our sides and add to our burgers so that's probably why. I was DEFINITELY pleasantly surprised by my experience at this restaurant. My husband and I live very close by and have been waiting for the "Opening Soon" sign to change to "Now Open." We stopped by for a late lunch on a Sunday during a Bears game and split the nachos and some very large beers. The nachos were FANTASTIC - they do them with chili, which is my favorite. The waitress was very good about answering our questions and got us beer samples when they were requested. There's a ton of stuff on the menu that I want to try, so we'll definitely be back. It seemed like they had a ton of different specials depending on the day of the week, so that will probably guide future menu decision making. The main room was busy and loud. As I had mentioned, the Bears game was on and they were doing some sort of Bears Bingo, which sounded like fun. As a Steelers fan, we opted for the side room which was much quieter. They had TVs all around the room with a ton of different games on. You could just sit facing the game you wanted and enjoy! I am pleased that this place turned into such a nice bar. It looks kind of shady on the outside because they really didn't do a very good job with the remodel. It's still got the tacky Tex Mex thing going on from when it was Rancheros, but seriously give it a shot! Decided to check this place out to see what the fuss was all about. For a Wednesday evening it was not so busy. I was surprised because of the location, it's right behind the metra stop 59. Our server came to our table as soon as we were seated . Asked us what drinks we wanted. She was very prompt, came back took our order. Wednesday's special was 60 cent chicken tenders or wings. Got the chicken tenders as an appetizer. I wasn't to much of a fan of the breading on these. I felt like the batter would of been better on fish. You have your choice of bbq or honey mustard as a sauce. The menu is pretty basic burgers, sandwiches, salads, wraps etc. I was in a mood for a burger so I gave it a shot. I ordered a cheese burger with a side of sides. It also comes with coleslaw and pickles. You do have the option to order waffle fries instead of regular ones for $1.50. I took about four bites into the burger and I was full. I think these are meant for guys with big appetites. Needles to say I didn't finish it. I realized that the onion was missing !! I ended up finishing the chicken tenders and waffle fries. The server came around and asked if I was finished. I kindly told her yes. She looked at me and asked was something wrong with the burger. I told her it was to bland. In all honesty it was to much meat for a burger. However, she did offer to get me something else I told her no thanks. She apologized, I said it's ok not your fault. She brought the check and said I took off the burger off the check. With that being said talk about great customer service! ! I'm glad there are places like this who take care of their customers. Great Sports bar.... but don't expect great food. They have a great beer list with lot's of local craft beers, I really like the atmosphere, lot's of TV's, lot's of servers and they do a great job. But like most sports bars the food is only decent. I had the gyro platter and there was lot's of meat but it was really dry. My son had a Philly cheese steak and said it was just ok, and we both agreed that the fries weren't good. Draft picks is always a fun time! We come sometimes on Tuesdays for trivia and get the cheap margaritas, quesadillas, and wings which are all good. It's pretty typical bar food nothing extraordinary but if you're looking for a sports bar it's a good option. The staff are always friendly and attentive. read more

Went to Draftpicks tonight with my Son and Wife. My Wife ordered the shrimp, our Son ordered a bacon and cheese burger w/BBQ sauce on the side, I ordered the Cubbie Blue burger. My Son asked for the burger to med. rare, same as me. Our Sons burger arrived well done, mine was med. rare. What we hoped to be an enjoyable meal turned out to be mediocre. The burgers were very dry even the med. rate burger and had no flavor, they were extremely bland. When you expect a burger to be jucy and get bland it ruins the entire meal. Nice layout. Lots of TVs. On the right visits this place will be 4-5 stars. They have rotating specials. We went on a Wed, which is wing night, 60c wings. Boneless & traditional . Wings are decent size and pretty meaty. I found the sauce to be on the bland side. Beer is cold. Also on Wed, $4 pint craft specials. Does not include 3 Floyds or highly popular craft brands but standards brands. Did not study the other specials , but noticed a guy chowing done on a huge burger and seemed to be enjoying it. Burgers are on the specials , not sure what night. Pretty sure they have specials M-F. Not sure about Sat-Sun. Place was fairly full for a weeknight at 730pm. No local sports were going on that I was aware of at the time, so If a Chicago team were playing , Id imagine it would be more crowded. Parking lot is decent size but not huge, but whats good is that it surrounds the building. So you dont have to walk too far. Bathrooms are so so. Could be cleaner and have more stalls for #2. Other things of note. Service was good. Katie was our server and actually took time to point out all the specials and beer covered by the $4 pints, which was nice. They also have another seating room besides the main room in with the bar, for groups. Or if your not looking to watch the game , that room would be ok. I'm leaving 3 stars because the service was fine and everybody seemed nice..it's never my goal to fuck up somebody's rating unless I was personally wronged somehow. The food just wasn't good, and I'm hoping someone from the actual place reads this and takes it into consideration. I ordered a medium rare burger and it showed up medium well, which is a drastic difference. My fiance got a vegetable pizza without cheese and it looked/tasted like it was made out of cardboard. The veggies were barely cooked and the onions weren't even sliced...just giant chunks of uncooked onions on top of stale dough. It was difficult to watch. We may come back because it's in the neighborhood. The fries were great and it's a cool looking sports bar...but besides that, this was an extremely unsettling meal. read more

Stopped by for lunch with a group of friends on a Friday and was pleased that it wasn't over crowded or loud. Manager was ok but the waitress was very helpful. I believe her name was Cassie. Not much of a drinker so I tried a 4 sampler. Cassie helped me with that, thanks again. Daily specials are very reasonable. Bar and grill so I had the Soxside burger. My coworker and I tend to come during lunch fairly regularly. They have great weekly lunch specials and we tend to pick which days we go based on the special that we want to try. I am a big fan of their chicken tenders and sauce selection! The burgers are pretty good, but my coworker is more of a fan of those than I am. We went in on their tacos and quesadillas day, and I took a liking to the steak tacos. I thought the fish tacos were decent for an Illinois bar, but left a bit to be desired. I went here on a recent weekend when visiting the parents. This location has changed hands a few times but I must say Draft Picks has been the best of them all. The place is ginormous and it gets busy--but I can see why! I went with the Chicken BLT Club sandwich with a side of waffle fries, which are well worth the $1 upgrade. I usually don't rave about fries, but these were good! At $13 for the entree, the portion size was extremely generous. I could only finish half of the sandwich. They have a number of burgers, which my husband and mom and stepdad had. Everyone enjoyed their meals and left feeling fat and happy! While we were there, they also had Football Bingo going on during the Bears game, which was free and offered a chance to win a $25 gift card per quarter. Football isn't my thing, but even I thought that was fun! Oh, and my husband and stepdad won back-to-back. We would have come back anyway, with or without our winnings, but now I look forward to either trying a different sandwich or pizza next time. Please Naperville, keep this place around. We've been here a few times, each time we've had pleasant experiences. The first time was on a random, non-game day Sunday (i.e. Sports were featured on the TVs but no Chicago/local highlighted games). I wasn't too hungry so I ordered a Southwest Salad (holy yum), and my adventurous boyfriend got the grilled cheese burger (yes, a burger between two grilled cheese sandwiches!?). He said it was amazing. (No GF bread options when we were there *sad face* as I LOVE grilled cheeses, and am allergic to stupid gluten). We then came back here on another random whim, a Thursday I believe? Sat up at the bar. Had a friendly bartender who gave his recommendations on a few things - I stuck with a Tito's n Ginger and bartender gave my bf a great suggestion for a flight of beers which he enjoyed. This place is close by, we see customer appreciation events during baseball and football season, they've invited radio stations and semi local celebrities out to draw the crowds in, and all seemed to have been successful events from what we've seen. This is your standard sports bar by day that turns into a bar at night. There are a ton of tvs ranging in size. They have a sit down room that is away from all the tvs, then a slew of high top tables and a large bar, as well as a banquet room. The place is extremely clean and well organzied. They have a good beer selection and a huge menu. Their daily deals are actually worth checking out. Huge $1 sliders, Burger deals, gyros, half off chicken sandwiches. It's really great. The food is above average for a sports bar. I had their tropical Habanero Wings, which had great flavor. I also had some delicious French onion soup. Others at the table said the gyros and Burgers were great and the salad was fresh. Late, around 1 am, it can get a bit more weird for a sports bar.
