Good burgers, but soggy fries and bland chicken. Skip the beer cheese. Great staff, poor phone service.

This is a new location and their second one. I went here for two reasons on Wednesday. One was that I had been watching them remodel the building and getting ready to open this new spot for what seemed to be eternity. Secondly they were doing a promotion for the Peoples Recourse Center which is near and dear to my heart. So the wife and I had to attend! I have to say that the owners here really have their act together. From the moment you arrive you can hear music and order calling from outside. When you get inside the place is very trendy. Good atmosphere with both tall or regular height tables/chairs as well as TV and music playing. My wife and I both had the trademark "302 Burger". Her a single and I a double. Both were absolutely delicious! It contains 1/4 lb Wheaton Meat Co. custom blend, 'Merican cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, & Schlick sauce. The sauce is good but could be a little stronger in the flavor department. We also had an order of onion rings which were amazing! The best we have had in long time. Cooked in an awesome tasting batter and to perfection. She had a chocolate shake which was out of this world. And I had one of their million beer selections Montucky Cold Snacks. And believe it or not it was only $4.00. And it wasn't bad at all. The owner stopped by our table two times to see how things were, if we had questions and to tell us some history and future plans. Super nice guy! Folks, this is an amazing new venue. I highly recommend it. Regardless of the occasion this is a must go to place. I like it! Can you tell?

I door and outdoor seating. Great courtyard for little kids.

So happy 302 has a location in south wheaton! This spot is so perfect for this restaurant! Outdoor seating, ok to have a dog with you, outdoor fireplace, next to Bundt cakes and frozen yogurt! Love the open feel and indoor and outdoor seating is perfect. Umbrellas in the tables outside for the really hot days + Reasonable prices for burgers and fries. Plenty of beer to pick from. The fries are not to share, small but just the right amount for 1 person. If you like allot, get 2 orders. I get the impossible burger, super thin, great bun, reasonable price. You pay extra for fries. But the cost of the sandwich is ok to justify. There are other trendy places charging $18 for the sandwich only plus cost of fries very close in proximity. We got the funnel fries. You had me at funnel. They are not to share either. Don't do it. It's small, but just enough for 1 person. Overall nice customer service and quick and tasty with great location! Go go go!

Such a cool vibe! I love their patio with the games, string lights, and live music. Milkshakes are darn good too!

So attentive, constantly checking in without being overbearing, and giving tons of great drink suggestions. You can tell they actually know their stuff. If you're not sure what to get, they're happy to let you sample and help you find something you'll love. That alone makes the experience feel elevated. I also love that they have board games available, and it's just that kind of place where you can hang out for hours. We even brought our own board games, ordered pizza, and had the best night ever! It's the perfect spot for a laid-back night -- no pressure, no crazy crowds, just good drinks and great company. After going, it totally makes sense why their reviews are so strong. Has pretty good prices even on crafts. You can find pretty interesting beers among these. Easy to be fooled by the outside because it looks like a typical store full of beer. It has a major difference and that is you can try these before you buy it. They offer samples of any of the beers on tap. It feels more like a store than a bar. The atmosphere isn't that exciting but it's nice to be able to concentrate on the actual beer instead of what's going on around you. It's about $6 a pint and they offer lots of discounts. They have local breweries including Revolution and lots more. Good stuff to drink and look at. It doesn't have much room inside so it's not good for big groups. The prices are good on most things.

The curry wurst was the bomb but needed more sauce. The sauce was heavenly though. The potato pancakes great and flavorful. The cabbage rolls tasty. The liver soup not my favorite only because it had a liver taste--which if you like, then you'll like it. The saurkraut and purple cabbage the best Ive ever tasted and worth getting. The spetzel so-so, not much flavor. Son liked it though. The bread dumplings ok. More like white bread. The big pork shank that is the prize-it was good but not as stellar as we thought it would be. And we did make sure to order it crispy like it said to and it wasn't. Looked like it was a little browned but even my young son said the fat isn't rendered. I think it would have been a lot better if it had been crispy like in other pictures on here. Disappointed. It's like $35. Not cheap. The beef with sauce (sauerbraten) was good, the sauce great, the beef ok. The special that was going on, the beef roulade. Nobody liked it at all. The stuff just didn't taste good together in it. Overall, it was a good experience. The waitress Rosie was amazing, most of the food was great to awesome. The ambiance was German and cozy. Our favorites: the curry wurst sauce, the saurkraut and red cabbage and the stuffed cabbage rolls.

It is lively and has a great energy, but it is not overwhelming or too crazy, which makes it perfect for a date night. You can actually talk, relax, and enjoy your time together, which is exactly what we were looking for. We ordered a mix of things and everything was so good. The BBQ platter with ribs, pulled chicken, mac and cheese, fries, and toast was packed with flavor and perfect for sharing. The chicken dish with mashed potatoes and greens was also amazing and really well done. We also got dessert and it was the perfect sweet ending to the night. The service was great the entire time. Our server was especially attentive and funny, which made the experience even better and added such a fun, personal touch to the night. Within 2 minutes of placing a drink order, they were brought over to our table. Food took about 10-15 mins to be prepared and brought over. Our group was in and out within an hour and 30 mins. I tried the Nashville chicken wrap which comes with a side. I went with the side salad with citrus vinaigrette. The salad was light and refreshing. Great way to get some veggies in! We made a reservation, too. Kindred is a unique place in that it's in a strip mall and you enter part of the mall to get to the front entrance of Kindred. We walked in and there was nobody at the front desk but a sign that said Seat Yourself. We walk into the bar (b/c that was all we saw) and the bartender gives us the option of a table in the corner or a table right next to the bathroom. We noticed tables right by the window that were open, but those apparently weren't available. We took the corner. We sat and a waitress brought us menus. I asked about the Restaurant Week. She said she knew it was going on, but didn't know what the options were. She was very nice about it, but I had to prod her to find a menu for it. She came back a few minutes later for our drink order and I asked again for the Restaurant Week menu and she again alluded to not knowing what it was. I dropped it but if your restaurant is offering it - your staff should know what is on it and should promote it. Drinks...I ordered a martini - my husband said "diet coke or coke zero." She said - we don't have that. He then said "diet pepsi". She said - they have RC Cola Zero. My husband and I look at each other and we're like "ugh.". Only having RC as your pop of choice is an indicator to us of cheapness/not great food. Skip ahead - another couple comes into the bar at that point and the bartender offers the couple the table by the bathroom. The couple pointed to the tables by the window and I think the bartender said they were reserved. The couple said they had a reservation tonight. I couldn't catch the rest, but they ending up sitting at the table by the restroom. Very confusing. Then - it all made sense - a family of 5 came into the bar...(b/c still no person at the front desk and the seat yourself sign) - said they had a reservation and all of a sudden, someone appears and seats them in a completely different room. Apparently - there is a dining room that we all should have been sitting in. But - having no person at the front desk, a sign that says seat yourself, having an entrance in a strip mall side, and the bartender not explaining anything - was a problem. Skip ahead. Food - we got fried pickles (which were extremely salty) , STK Wrap (just okay), and Garlic Chicken bowl (little garlic). Nothing outstanding and nothing that would warrant us coming back.
