This gym is geared more towards people searching for an active lifestyle (or bodybuilders) rather than those looking for a training environment. With that being said, they do have a little crossfit area that is perfect for those looking for more of a training environment. The back area has a crossfit rig, bumper plates, bands, rings, assault bike, skierg, assault treadmill, and it has a white board filled with WOD's. There is an additional fee for the training area but it is well worth it for those looking to practice their olympic lifts or pr on deadlifts/squats. They have a smoothie bar with multiple options and they have a little retail store with snacks and clothing for purchase as well. In regards to covid, they have installed these antimicrobial protectors on all their commonly used surfaces (benches in locker room and door handles), which I am a fan of. Most gyms do not have this and I appreciate the extra care they put into protecting the guests during covid. In addition, the female locker room has a "take one leave one" book exchange in it! I love how this gym is more than a gym- it really is a family. To sum this up, I am a huge fan of this gym and wish I lived closer, I recently moved to Norfolk. I come back as often as I can for the family feel and equipment.

When we went to check it out before signing up, the manager was there, and he was really nice. The app was easy to set up, and it let us in at all hours during our three-day membership. We are really early risers, so their 24-hour access via the app was really great for us. The gym seems to lean toward powerlifters. I say that not to imply that they give cardio equipment a short shrift. Rather, they have an amazing array of serious powerlifting equipment there, in addition to cardio and circuit equipment. And, as such, they had a few really big dudes, but we didn't feel out of place due to being cardio people along with being unfamiliar faces. The few members that were there in the wee hours of the morning when we were there were friendly. We will be going back on our regular Williamsburg vacations.

The trainers are smart, appropriately enthusiastic, encouraging, and friendly!! Camaraderie is also appropriately encouraged! I enjoyed working with the PT staff and after my PT treatments were complete I decided to join Core Fitness to continue improving my level of fitness. After a year as a Core client I am in better shape and am seeing multiple health benefits. The staff at Core (and Peak) is top-notch. They are friendly, enthusiastic and are committed to helping their clients improve. The set-up was very nice, equipment looked new, clean, and well taken care of. There was a trainer there training when I came in. He was very nice and helpful when I entered the facility. I also saw him retrieve a bucket and cloth and wipe down a lot of the equipment in-between training sessions. Definitely what you want to see in the age of COVID.
