I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others…read more I was referred by a friend who also invited me to a cosmetic event that was scheduled for later in the month. I wanted to look more refreshed for another event I had planned earlier in the week and so I decided to go in early for botox. I initially had a positive first impression of this office. The doctor is a family physician who also offers cosmetic treatments like Botox and lasers. I came in specifically for Botox, and although he recommended more units than I usually receive for my crow's feet area, I agreed, trusting his judgment and hoping for good results. He even asked me to return in two weeks for a follow-up touch-up. Unfortunately, within days, I noticed no improvement at all in my crow's feet. I tried calling the office multiple times and received no response. I eventually went in person to have him evaluate the results. When I showed him the issue, he told me "not to smile so hard," which was surprising especially since during my appointment, the medical assistant had encouraged me to smile very hard for photos. At my two-week follow-up, I was expecting a touch-up as discussed. Instead, he recommended doubling the amount of Botox, and when I asked if I would be charged again, he said yes. This was concerning, as I have never needed that much product before, and my regular provider achieves effective results at a much lower cost. While he attempted to justify this with scientific explanations, my experience suggested that technique and anatomical precision, both critical in Botox, may have been lacking, rather than the amount used. What was most disappointing was that after this entire experience, there was no effort to resolve the issue or stand behind the results. Instead, I immediately received a reminder text invitation to a cosmetic event promoting additional services and products. Given the outcome of my treatment, this felt dismissive and a lack of professionalism and patient care. Overall, I left feeling disappointed with the results, communication, and handling of concerns. I would not recommend this doctor, especially for cosmetic procedures where experience, technique, and ethical standards are essential.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he runs his own practice and is only a few blocks from our home. So Dr. Perez became my primary physician for my health insurance. In 2022 Dr. Perez's office sent several reminders for my annual physical which I needed to schedule. The reason for this review is on my third visit in late 2022, I came in at 8:30am due to a very painful hand with stiches. AFTER paying for his services, discussing the 2022 physical I still needed with his friendly assistant, and then waiting ~30 minutes in increasing pain. Dr. Perez refused to help me with what was a spreading hand infection - I needed antibiotics immediately! After he refused to even look at my hand - AFTER I had paid and waited & told him how much pain I was in - I subsequently spent hours driving around looking for an urgent care that FINALLY give me the antibiotics I really needed. At this point I had puss coming out from between the stitches and my hand was burning red. Healthtopia in Leucadia came through for me! So why did Dr. Perez refuse to even look at my infected hand and provide any help (although I urgently needed antibiotics for the infection) AFTER I had already paid and met with his assitant... Because he was still unhappy ( a year later...) with his interactions and reaction with my wife during the very stressful time of COVID. I feel this doctor is not following the basic fundamental medical Hippocratic oath, "first, do no harm". When I had a spreading infection in my hand (it was burning red and puss was coming out of the stitches) and he choose to focus on his personal issues he had with my wife (from a year ago!) instead of my urgent health problem in front of him. Lastly, he said I was using him to get a quick appointment, which he did not appreciate and and another reason he would not help me with my infected hand.

I probably am THAT patient that some doctors get irritated with, because I went in with a list of items that we needed to chat about or get referrals for. And as we talked, he made a mental note of each one. He fully addressed each and every thing I wanted to discuss and then moved onto the next. For me, this appointment crossed a TON off my to-do list as it was so productive. I think we can all agree that we've walked out of a doctor's office and said "oh shoot, he didn't tell me about ____". With Dr. Whitney, you'll never have to worry about that. After the fact, Dr. Whitney personally followed up with me, and advised me he'd submitted my referrals and I should be hearing back soon. I've never had such personable attention from any Doctor's office let alone one Doctor specifically!

I rarely write negative reviews, but after repeated experiences with Dr. John Clancy, I feel…read moreobligated to share what happened, particularly because elderly patients and patients who are not fluent in English deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. My 74-year-old mother recently moved from Canada to San Diego, and we have been rebuilding her medical care here from scratch. English is not her first language, and I routinely accompany her to appointments to make sure she understands her medical care and can communicate her concerns properly. We have seen Dr. Clancy multiple times, so this review is not based on one unpleasant encounter. Unfortunately, we have repeatedly experienced the same dismissive and unwelcoming behavior. Our appointments have felt extremely rushed, often lasting only approximately 5-10 minutes. When we ask questions, we have experienced sighing, visible frustration, eye-rolling, and responses that made both my mother and me feel as though we were an inconvenience rather than patients seeking medical care. Today's appointment crossed a line for me. My mother was trying her best to explain an issue concerning her daily blood-pressure medication. During the conversation, Dr. Clancy rolled his eyes, removed his glasses, looked directly at me and, referring to my mother's English, said words to the effect of: "When she speaks English, it makes me frustrated and I don't understand." I found this extraordinarily disrespectful and humiliating. A 74-year-old woman struggling to communicate in her second language should never be made to feel embarrassed for trying to explain a medical concern to her physician. There are professional and compassionate ways to handle a language barrier. Showing visible irritation toward an elderly patient is not one of them. What makes this more concerning is that today's experience was not isolated. We have left previous appointments feeling rushed, uncomfortable and unwelcome as well. Today simply reached the point where I could no longer remain silent. We will be finding my mother another primary-care physician. I also intend to formally report our experience through the appropriate channels because I believe elderly patients, immigrants, and people with limited English proficiency should be able to seek medical care without being made to feel ashamed or burdensome. I strongly encourage families, especially those caring for an elderly parent who may need additional patience or help communicating to consider our experience when deciding whether this practice is the right fit for them. Respect and compassion should be the absolute minimum a patient receives in a doctor's office.

There are delightful little knick-knacks dotted around that make the practice feel like you're in a friend's living room. The receptionists are lovely and have a calming presence. They are quick to respond to requests and are extremely helpful. Dr. Castrejon makes you feel like you're talking to a close friend about your medical problems. I felt comfortable instantly and he definitely knows what he is doing. He is well-educated and enjoys talking to patients. I definitely recommend his practice as the place to go and since its a family place, it's ideal for everyone.

When I call to make an appointment I sometimes can't get through, recently it took me almost 3 hours. Then I just drive down and amazingly was able to make an appointment. Surprisingly I must say. When I arrived the tv was so loud I forgot I was in a doctors office. Anyway I had my yearly physical recently with Dr. Wong. His compassion has also diminished. My physical exams seem to be less and less through as the years go by, Not sure if he has his hands tied since Optum took over but the quality of his care has been going down year after year. I go to a doctor for care while not often but depend on my annual physicals. On a positive note Lourdes is very compassionate and caring. She always seems to make me feel special when I visit.

The admins are all new and kind…read more Dr. Wong though I've unfortunately discovered through my visits only prescribes prescription meds with no reference to any natural remedies to supplement. I have hypertension. He never recommended me to a nutritionist either to assist me in losing weight. His best advice was for me to eat healthy and excercise more; stuff I should already know he says. All this doctor does is prescribe medication after medication. I've also taken blood work as to their recommendation and I never hear back from them nor are the results discussed with me by Dr.Wong when I go into my next visit. His nurse, Lourdes, wasnt pleasant for me to deal with as she always had something snarky to say right before measuring my bp. My results of course would be high but that's the number used for Dr. Wong to increase my dose or recommend another medication added on to what I was already taking My overall experience with Dr. Wong has been an overall disappointment. If medications don't work, he's got nothing else to give. There could have been more and better attention given to my visits and blood work results but there wasn't. I'm only relieved to part ways

I'm going through some serious health issues between my back and kidney stones. My life is not the…read moresame as I'm dealing with constant pain, and yet my doctor can't seem to find the time to see me. The PA is not supposed to be my primary care physician--Dr. Halim is. She is not personally familiar with my medical history or my previous conversations with him. Dr. Halim initially diagnosed my back issues as a muscle tear. He ordered an X-ray, but when I came in to review the results, I was assigned to his PA, whose diagnosis was different. They ordered a CT scan, and when I returned to review that, I was yet again assigned to the PA. Then they ordered an MRI. I had the MRI done on a Friday. After another weekend of dealing with the pain, I called Monday to make an appointment to review the MRI. I thought I was being completely reasonable in requesting to see my actual doctor this time. I hadn't been able to talk to or see him since the X-ray or CT scan, and I wanted to discuss the results of all three tests with him. This is a big deal--not only the three large kidney stones, but also the other unrelated pain I've been experiencing. It has been horrible. When I called, I specifically told the receptionist that I needed to see Dr. Halim rather than his PA. I was told, "I can't guarantee that you will see him." I explained that I was in a lot of pain and had been jumping through all these hoops and taking all these tests without ever being able to see my doctor. The receptionist put me on hold for several minutes, apparently to speak with Dr. Halim. She came back and told me, "Yes, Dr. Halim will see you Friday at 10 AM." I made the appointment and double-confirmed before ending the call: "So, you're telling me that if I come in Friday at 10, I will for certain be able to see my doctor this time?" She said yes. I showed up Friday morning. The front desk confirmed that I had a 10 o'clock appointment with Dr. Halim. The other staff member brought me back, checked my blood pressure and told me, "Doctor Halim will be right in." He never came in. I never got to review my X-ray, CT scan or MRI with him. Having Dr. Halim as my physician, I would have thought it was a good thing to have a doctor with decades of experience. He had sold me on how knowledgeable he was about back issues, especially since he has had three back surgeries himself. But what good does all that experience and knowledge do for me when I can never get to see or speak with him? I had waited four days for that Friday 10 AM appointment after my MRI results came back. This appointment was extremely inconvenient because I'm also my mom's caregiver. She can't drive, and she had her own specialist appointment that Friday morning that she had been waiting a month for. I couldn't take her because I needed to see Dr. Halim during the only appointment he had available for me that week. My sister had to take time off work to take my mom to her specialist so I could make it to Dr. Halim's appointment. I rearranged all of that because I was specifically promised I would finally get to see my doctor. Instead, I showed up and was blown off yet again. I can't imagine what else it could be other than Dr. Halim simply being stretched too thin and too busy with too many patients. It can't be something personal. I've been a good patient and have always been on time and friendly with him and his staff. They laugh at my silly jokes, and I've even brought bags of candy for the doctor and staff to show my appreciation. Everything had been great--right up until I was promised four times (twice on the phone and twice in person) that I would see my doctor, and it didn't happen. This isn't just about my schedule. I'm dealing with daily pain, and my family had to rearrange their schedules so I could make that specific Friday 10 AM appointment. After waiting a week for the MRI, I was desperate to get the results and discuss the X-ray, CT scan and MRI with Dr. Halim. It would have been worth my sister taking time off work to take my mom to her appointment if it finally meant I could see my doctor and review everything. Instead, I felt like a real sucker for rearranging everything after being promised I could see my doctor that day. It was never like this before. Dr. Halim must be too busy, with a backlog of patients and a poorly organized schedule, to see me after three consecutive appointments. But if he wasn't going to be available, I think the common courtesy would have been to call me and reschedule. I was PROMISED that if I rearranged my schedule for a third appointment, four days out, I would get to see my doctor. I was given one timeslot the entire week--Friday at 10 AM--to finally get to see my doctor. And even after PROMISED I would finally get to see my doctor, nope, no explanation, no apology, no doctor,
