Personnel make every effort to be both punctual and pleasant. Recently I had a CT scan. Jessica , the lab professional who did the procedure, like many of her colleagues at this location, made the entire experience comfortable and easy. I actually enjoyed this experience . . Just wanted to take a moment to commend a very effective and professional group of employees.

Orthopedics appointment here further away from home when I could not get one in Encinitas…read more Easy lot parking in the PM. Unusual layout of building was more than offset when several associates asked me how they could help, always pointing me in the right directions. On their own initiative. Dr. Braunstein gave steroid injection into painful toe joint, the pain of which has vanished 24 hours later. Great overview of what was going on and related issues. I saw none of the attitudes, etc. described in older reviews about the place generally and Orthopedics specifically. I experienced auto problems (see below) and was not scolded for being late or upsetting scheduling. Which the Torry Pines facility sometimes did. The problem is its entrance. A single lane in each direction. Not prominently enough identified by signage on the main roadways. Needs many more "H" blue signs with arrows strategically placed a distance away. And it feeds directly off a shopping center entrance which I had never seen before for a hospital. Needs a traffic light, if the shopping center entry further down the feeding road has a traffic light, then more so a hospital should. (Single entry/exit; what if there were a fire?) Entry via the parking structure was forbidden by staff only signage. If you have not been there before, even if you had been a long while ago as I once was, you are going to likely miss one or more turns. Spent 20 minutes being diverted into various roads including those that would all but force cars onto the freeway, trying to turn around to get to the single-entrance place. SUMMARY: Nice place, quality assistance and care, when you make it. Minus one star for learning curve for driving in!

The nurse practitioner has an extremely aggressive bedside manner, telling what symptoms she thought I should be experiencing, even though I wasn't. Dr. Lizotte freaked my husband out telling him I was going to have a stroke or cardiac episode. He insisted I should go to the ER because something was wrong. He insisted the ER nurse would look at my blood pressure and rush me back. Not the case at all, I ended up spending 8 hours sitting in an ER and left with no diagnosis, normal labs and EKG. The folks in the office there don't even know how to take a manual blood pressure, they solely rely on machines to do their job! Do better folks! Another two women came in and one was called in first, then the guy and then a lady that walked in five minutes ago gets called in. WTH? And this is only one experience. If you complain the female staff gets nasty and vindictive. The doc does nothing. I really think this totally is inappropriate. So we asked and were told there are two docs here but not specifically if those people that came in are attached to which doc. The girl who handled us puts all calls on hold while she types away and sings to herself and either then answers the call on hold or they hang up. Who knows. If my 100% disabled vet spouse wasn't on so many meds AND on dialysis, I would find another doc. I hate how the medical industry gets people over a barrel like this!!

Great Doctor! Dr…read more Catherine Lawson is a great doctor. After I took some time to learn about her personality I really like her, she is a sweetheart, I strongly recommend her.

My very first appointment she was dismissive of my concerns, outright refused to refer me to…read moretesting because she had never heard of the medical condition I was coming in with (paradoxical adipose hyperplasia-look it up!). She looked at me skeptically and said she'd never heard of it before and it was "probably a legal term" so I should speak with a lawyer. Never before have I felt embarrassed FOR a provider... uh, I dunno, Cathy. Google it? Lol Rude, judgmental, unprofessional. She left notes on my patient summary that had nothing to do with my actual visit because at some point I was done being treated like a crazy person and I walked out of her office. So you can add petty to the list of qualities. She said she was going to add a prescription for my acid reflux, but when I read the patient summary, she said that she had referred me to a gastroenterologist so I couldn't get the prescription we talked about. Overall jarring and bizarre experience. I will say, every patient in her waiting room was well over 80 years old, so if you are that age (you probably aren't using yelp to find a doctor, but) she will likely be a good fit for you. However, if you are not in that demographic, my advice would be to steer clear. The front staff and nurses were sweet and wonderful to interact with. This woman does not deserve the angels that work under her. I feel sorry for them, and every patient who has had a similar experience going to see her. Finding a new PCP is hard enough without bozos like this lady trying to make you feel like you're crazy because you don't fit neatly inside of the narrow education she received way back in the 70s or 80s. You can tell she does not keep her education current. She finished medical school and thought she was done learning. BEWARE.

I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others…read more I was referred by a friend who also invited me to a cosmetic event that was scheduled for later in the month. I wanted to look more refreshed for another event I had planned earlier in the week and so I decided to go in early for botox. I initially had a positive first impression of this office. The doctor is a family physician who also offers cosmetic treatments like Botox and lasers. I came in specifically for Botox, and although he recommended more units than I usually receive for my crow's feet area, I agreed, trusting his judgment and hoping for good results. He even asked me to return in two weeks for a follow-up touch-up. Unfortunately, within days, I noticed no improvement at all in my crow's feet. I tried calling the office multiple times and received no response. I eventually went in person to have him evaluate the results. When I showed him the issue, he told me "not to smile so hard," which was surprising especially since during my appointment, the medical assistant had encouraged me to smile very hard for photos. At my two-week follow-up, I was expecting a touch-up as discussed. Instead, he recommended doubling the amount of Botox, and when I asked if I would be charged again, he said yes. This was concerning, as I have never needed that much product before, and my regular provider achieves effective results at a much lower cost. While he attempted to justify this with scientific explanations, my experience suggested that technique and anatomical precision, both critical in Botox, may have been lacking, rather than the amount used. What was most disappointing was that after this entire experience, there was no effort to resolve the issue or stand behind the results. Instead, I immediately received a reminder text invitation to a cosmetic event promoting additional services and products. Given the outcome of my treatment, this felt dismissive and a lack of professionalism and patient care. Overall, I left feeling disappointed with the results, communication, and handling of concerns. I would not recommend this doctor, especially for cosmetic procedures where experience, technique, and ethical standards are essential.
