This practice has gone downhill tremendously within the last year. I was a patient of Dr. Hurd's…read morefor 8 years and occasionally would see Dr. Patel for things as well. A few months ago I went to urgent care for this chronic neck pain I was having. After doing some x-rays, the urgent care doctor said I need to go to physical therapy and have my PCP send in the referral. 4-5 days later, Dr. Hurd finally sent in my referral. After a month of physical therapy, my physical therapist requested additional visits since the insurance only gave me 7. The insurance approved more visits and just needed a signature from Dr. Hurd so I can continue with my physical therapy. It literally took her 5 days for just a signature. I also had to cancel my physical therapy appointment that week because we (me and the physical therapist) were all waiting on Dr. Hurd to take 5 seconds to sign a form. Last month I needed to pick up a lab order from Dr. Patel for not just annual bloodwork but also hormonal as well. I had already been communicating with Dr. Patel through the portal about it and she told me she would put the order though. I get to the office the day before my appointment to pick up the lab order and the front desk girls (who also rude and dismissive. The other girls who used to work there were so nice and friendly) tell me that Dr. Patel didn't send it. Just ONE lab, not the whole thing. I told them I can't reschedule my lab appointment because of it being hormonal bloodwork (and fasted too) and Dr. Patel said that it has to be done on a certain day of my cycle. And also, my naturopathic doctor (who Dr. Patel knew I saw for my condition too) was going to be reviewing the results with me in a few weeks and she has no openings for 3 months! Dr. Patel wasn't in the office that day but Dr. Hurd was. I asked the girls at the front desk if she could write up my labs and I can pick them up before the end of the day before they close. They just gave me attitude and told me to go write Dr. Hurd on the portal and there's no guarantee that she would get to my message today. Seeing how it already took 5 days for Dr. Patel to just sign a form, I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere with her or her unhelpful staff. I went to Scripps urgent care just as a last resort to see if maybe they could somehow do my bloodwork and they said they don't do that kind of bloodwork there but they told me that my doctor is negligent and I should fire her. Well, I did exactly that. I went on my insurance's website and decided to join the Scripps network and found a new PCP and was able to get in the very next morning with her NP and I was able to get the bloodwork I needed (which was super convenient because the lab was just one floor up from the PCP's office. No more dealing with LabCorp and their long wait times). A month later Dr. Hurd's office calls me about collecting money for their medical records release fee. I told them that they never told me there was a fee and that also Scripps requested the records a month ago! This office as a whole just doesn't give two $#!+ about their job or the patients and it really shows. Run, don't walk away from this practice! I got treated so much better by EVERYONE over at Scripps.

Abaigail placed me on a brief hold, then she said she will ask Dr. Li if she has sent over my 2 medication orders to my local pharmacy to pick up today. Then Abagail told me that Dr. Li has just sent over her orders for my medications and I should call my Walmart Pharmacy to ask when these two medications will be ready for me to pick up sometime today. I did call yesterday and this pharmacist Wen said these 2 medications will have to be special ordered from their supplier and they should be ready for me to pick up later this afternoon. After I called this Tri-City Primary Care Office 3 times I was able to get my medication order resolved from Dr. Xiang Li.

I wanted to look more refreshed for another event I had planned earlier in the week and so I decided to go in early for botox. I initially had a positive first impression of this office. The doctor is a family physician who also offers cosmetic treatments like Botox and lasers. I came in specifically for Botox, and although he recommended more units than I usually receive for my crow's feet area, I agreed, trusting his judgment and hoping for good results. He even asked me to return in two weeks for a follow-up touch-up. Unfortunately, within days, I noticed no improvement at all in my crow's feet. I tried calling the office multiple times and received no response. I eventually went in person to have him evaluate the results. When I showed him the issue, he told me "not to smile so hard," which was surprising especially since during my appointment, the medical assistant had encouraged me to smile very hard for photos. At my two-week follow-up, I was expecting a touch-up as discussed. Instead, he recommended doubling the amount of Botox, and when I asked if I would be charged again, he said yes. This was concerning, as I have never needed that much product before, and my regular provider achieves effective results at a much lower cost. While he attempted to justify this with scientific explanations, my experience suggested that technique and anatomical precision, both critical in Botox, may have been lacking, rather than the amount used. What was most disappointing was that after this entire experience, there was no effort to resolve the issue or stand behind the results. Instead, I immediately received a reminder text invitation to a cosmetic event promoting additional services and products. Given the outcome of my treatment, this felt dismissive and a lack of professionalism and patient care. Overall, I left feeling disappointed with the results, communication, and handling of concerns. I would not recommend this doctor, especially for cosmetic procedures where experience, technique, and ethical standards are essential.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he runs his own practice and is only a few blocks from our home. So Dr. Perez became my primary physician for my health insurance. In 2022 Dr. Perez's office sent several reminders for my annual physical which I needed to schedule. The reason for this review is on my third visit in late 2022, I came in at 8:30am due to a very painful hand with stiches. AFTER paying for his services, discussing the 2022 physical I still needed with his friendly assistant, and then waiting ~30 minutes in increasing pain. Dr. Perez refused to help me with what was a spreading hand infection - I needed antibiotics immediately! After he refused to even look at my hand - AFTER I had paid and waited & told him how much pain I was in - I subsequently spent hours driving around looking for an urgent care that FINALLY give me the antibiotics I really needed. At this point I had puss coming out from between the stitches and my hand was burning red. Healthtopia in Leucadia came through for me! So why did Dr. Perez refuse to even look at my infected hand and provide any help (although I urgently needed antibiotics for the infection) AFTER I had already paid and met with his assitant... Because he was still unhappy ( a year later...) with his interactions and reaction with my wife during the very stressful time of COVID. I feel this doctor is not following the basic fundamental medical Hippocratic oath, "first, do no harm". When I had a spreading infection in my hand (it was burning red and puss was coming out of the stitches) and he choose to focus on his personal issues he had with my wife (from a year ago!) instead of my urgent health problem in front of him. Lastly, he said I was using him to get a quick appointment, which he did not appreciate and and another reason he would not help me with my infected hand.
