This highly skilled Physician Assistant/Nurse is extremely kind and knowledgeable. She was thorough and truly listened to my symptoms and was able to make me feel at ease! I was quite impressed! I highly recommend Scripps Health Express in Oceanside. I did not have an appointment and was seen promptly too! Kind Regards, Gail Kalani

Imagine paying for a Netflix subscription where you think the movies are free to watch after making…read moreyour monthly subscription fee, but you later receive a bill for hundreds of dollars because one of the actors in the movie you watched was not licensed by Netflix. This is how it is dealing with Scripps and healthcare in 2026. Beware of Scripps Health! This is an elaborate money-making scheme where they assure you that you will not be billed for things and then perform services that aren't needed for insane prices. They then threaten to send you to collections because the services they provided (that no one asked for and they recommended) were not actually covered by your insurance. We took our three healthy children to the doctor for an annual wellness check. They were not sick, had no complaints and did not have any specific reason to go to the doctor other than a simple annual wellness check. We were not at the clinic for more than an hour but somehow Scripps racked up a bill of over $4,000 -- just for a simple wellness check!? Insurance only covered a small amount and now they're threatening to take us to a collection agency over these unwanted and unrequested "services" because they said the physician they assigned to us was "not in network." How are we supposed to know one physician at your office would be covered by our insurance but the other one you assigned to us is not? Before going to Scripps, we called in advance to ask our insurance company if Scripps did a free wellness check. They said "yes." We then called Scripps to ask if the wellness check would be covered by our insurance and we wouldn't have any additional charges at the visit -- they said "no additional charges." Then at the counter my wife asked one more time if we would be charged for any of the services and they said "we can't know every insurance policy and what is covered. If it's not covered, you'll get a bill." They didn't even check to see if the physician they assigned us was within our network. Fast forward a few weeks later and we're asked to pay over $1,850 for three healthy kids without any issues? Buyer beware!

I hate leaving a poor review for Dr. Italiano, because he's a decent doctor, but his staff is…read morebeyond incompetent. I don't think I've ever physically gone into their office, or emailed with their office, and come out of the experience with an answer or a solution. I've dealt with MANY frustrating messages back and forth with his staff (he rarely messages patients) who hardly even perform their jobs at a bare minimum- they'll respond to messages within 48 hours, but they will not help you in any way unless you make an appointment, which brings in money for their office. One example is that I had a battery of labs completed to address abdominal discomfort I was having- and Dr. Italiano emailed me saying everything looked great, regardless of multiple readings being out of the "normal" range. I specifically pointed this out to him, and his staff responded saying if I wanted to address a new concern I'd have to schedule an appointment. A couple days ago I was asking them for help viewing a form they had sent me through their app, they responded that I had to view it in "the portal", and when I asked them what/where this "portal" was (in the app or somewhere else), they messaged me back saying they could no longer assist me and if I wanted anything I had to call their records department (who have also proven to be completely incompetent in the past). This office drops the ball in every way, and they only care about making money off office visits. They do not care about you or your health, and only want to line their pockets with the money your insurance provider pays out for endless office visits. I will absolutely be changing my PCM, because I'm so tired of dealing with this staff.
