My wife went to Dr. Favour's office to have some ear wax removed. The procedure was not even performed by the doctor, but by a nurse. They coded it as a "surgery" costing $255 in their report to the insurance company, so after Cigna reimbursed them partially we're on the hook for $80, for a procedure that was just slightly more sophisticated than using a Q-Tip. A practitioner with minimal integrity would have (a) warned us of the cost outcome; and/or (b) coded it as a routine office visit that would be covered by insurance. We're finding a new doctor.
