What a nightmare. Dropped off a laptop for screen repair, was told 1-2 weeks. Screen after screen they received to fix it with did not work. Most times they wouldn't even call me with the update that they had to return the screen and ordered another one (Ships from China, 2 week shipping). They also don't like to answer their phone. I just counted, I called them 38 times during this ordeal, they called me 6. One time it worked on boot up at the store, but started degrading the moment we got home. After 3 MONTHS of being patient and playing the waiting game (and having been refused a refund and my laptop back), they agreed to give me back my laptop IN WORSE SHAPE with a refund "minus labor costs". I declined that offer and have initiated a charge-back with my credit card company. Lady at the store seemed familiar with charge backs, no doubt not their first experience with it. I do not recommend contacting this service - they are not responsible for any additional damage that occurs as a result of their poor quality repair. I handed in my phone for repair, which I bought for $ 1,700 for the sake of high-quality photo / video shooting, to replace the fingerprint sensor located on the phone's power button. The next day after the repair, I noticed that the vibration did not work, and during a video call, the front camera froze, after which all the cameras and the flashlight stopped working completely. I brought the phone back to the service so that they could fix the consequences of their repair. It took them a week, although every day they promised that a technician would look at it the next day. In the end, they only restored the vibration. And regarding the cameras, they said that liquid damage was found. I disassembled the phone after their repair and found that not all the screws were tightened, the flash diffuser was broken, the noise reduction cable was installed incorrectly. No signs of liquid ingress. I tried to contact the owner of the service on Facebook - he said that they do not bear any responsibility for additional damage that will occur as a result of their repair. Unfortunately, I decided to read the reviews only after the repair and found that it is not uncommon for them to break more than they fix after the repair. They have a fairly high rating on Google Maps, so I did not check further. I recommend that everyone who has suffered from their unscrupulous service leave reviews not only here, but also on Google Maps and Facebook. In any service, before you hand something over for repair, check whether they are responsible if they break something during the repair. A normal service should give at least a few days of warranty for their repair. read more

Do not get your phone repaired here. They replaced the battery and screen on my iPhone 6. What would ensue is over 4 weeks of diagnostics after their repair, which left me without the phone in question. The company had no notations on the account related to what was being done, what diagnostics were being performed. The technician that serviced the phone initially now no longer worked at Dr. Phonez during this period of diagnostic. The issue is after the repair, my phone would cycle on and off every 5 minutes. Their resolution after 4 weeks because they didn't have anyone that could do motherboard work that was caused by the original technician? Stick an old OEM bloated battery that would bypass the short that was on the motherboard but with obvious bloat and bending the screen on the iPhone upon the return, causing light leak through the pixels on the screen. Do not go here. Provide your hard earned money to another reputable company; the hard part is that there aren't very many of them out there. read more

Very rude and dishonest staff at Dr Phonez. My fiancée and I came up here to get a new battery for his iPhone. The lady behind the desk charged him $50 and said it would be a few hours. It took over 3 hours. The lady told us we had 11 days to bring the phone back if it wasn't working any better. The battery was worse than before and had to constantly be on the charger or it would die within an hour. We brought it back 3 days later and the lady said we must have gotten the phone wet and they couldn't help us. She was very rude and told us to leave the store when my fiancée asked to speak to the manager. Buyer beware this place is dishonest, rude, and doesn't stand by their services or products. read more

My Dad left an ipad to get a new battery at the Stone Oak location at the beginning of December to the tune of $230. When he picked it up the ipad turned on, but then once it was home, it died again and would not turn back on. He took it back to the store and they called him to tell him it had water damage. (Though it's never been near water and they didn't "find" it with the battery repair.) They finally called on Christmas Eve to tell him that it was ready, when he called back on the 26th they told him it wasn't actually quite ready, they needed to do some checks on it. I called twice, my mom called, and yes, my Dad called. FINALLY when I went in on Wednesday with him to find out what was going on, I was informed that the ipad had been sent to the San Pedro location and that I could talk to the manager there. I talk to one person who gave me the song and dance of water damage again and then I talked to the manager. I was informed that as soon as you walk out the door, there is no warranty on their battery, so my Dad must have done something to the ipad within the days he got home... the "water damage" happened when he got home too by the way. These folks are complete crooks. When I asked the guy why he would charge a senior $230 plus whatever he WAS going to charge for water damage (I assured them we would not be paying any more) when he could buy a new one for $350 at Costco, he said that it was their job to repair them and that he'd be out of a job if he told people it was a wiser decision to buy a new device. He actually had the nerve to tell me that my car mechanic would do the same thing instead of telling me to buy a new car. (I assured him that my awesome Mechanic would NEVER have me make a repair that wasn't in my best interest.) The manager also told me that if he had that conversation with every customer that came in his store, it would take 5-10 minutes per customer and he didn't have that kind of time. Oh. My. I was told that magically the ipad would be ready for me to pick up that night or the following morning and I had them assure me that it would be working. (Now almost 2 months later.) It was. So... dropped of at the Stone Oak (Evans and 281) location and then was sent to San Pedro. Dishonest and horrible customer service. Do not come here unless you want to get ripped off. I went to this location to get my iPhone screen fixed. The sales guy suggested a glass screen protector letting me know if would it would be under warranty if the screen broke again. I paid a total of $133! Two days later my screen got a slight crack from my puppy just stepping over it. I called and went to the store and they said I would have to repay the entire amount again. I asked about warranty and they said it was not covered. I let him know when he assisted me a few days earlier he did explain that it would have warranty and that is why I chose my phone to be fixed at this place of business. I called another store and they gave me the runaround. I am in sales too but this is just not ethical. Just plain BAD, BAD customer service! I went to get my cracked screen replaced and they broke my lcd in the process because my battery shocked him so he tried to charge me an extra $100 to fix his mistake. Then when I asked him to put the now broken screen on because I didn't want to spend the extra money on his mistake, he said it was fine but the screen was so dimly lit that I could not see it at all. My husband told me I could get my iPhone screen fixed for $69 so I went in there and waited an hour and half and came out with a new cover. Throughout the day I noticed that when I wasn't touching the screen it started selecting apps and things that weren't by my fingers so I went back two days later. They claimed they fixed it but I had to go back a THIRD time and then they finally put a new screen on again. A week later I noticed that the screen wasn't attached properly. I had a not-so-good experience with these guys. First I went and asked for a quote for a battery change. The clerk gave me the wrong quote and told me I needed to replace the screen, while giving me a confused and condescending look. I took it back and told them to just change the battery. During the repair they were nice enough to re-align the screen. If this is where it ended, it would be good and fine, but it didn't. I had issues with not locating my wireless network and the phone randomly turning off over long periods of time. They told me to toggle airport mode when I couldn't locate the network which seemed more like a tide-over than an actual fix, needless to say it is not a problem now. However for the other problem, they told me to that I needed to change the battery (again) for the problem to fix. So to fix the battery problem that they just replaced I needed to buy another battery. They went into a long-winded explanation that because my phone indicated water damage that I couldn't get a warranty. My phone has experienced water before but had no issues after drying out. So they charged me half price to re-install another battery, after paying full price for replacing a battery a few days before. I went back and asked why I needed to change the battery a second time. After 15 minutes of excuses they finally said they do get bad batteries and didn't make the connection that obviously they had installed a bad battery in my phone and charged me more money to replace it with a working battery. Even after this they may be cheaper than nearby stores, however their front-desk employees are weak and unforgiving. Once your water damage indicator goes off they go into an uproar and blame any and all problems on it, even though you may have issues that didn't derive from your phone getting wet to being with. read more

Dr. Phonez is not a reputable business. They held my son's phone for two weeks and did not call me when the repair had been completed. Pieces of the front of the phone fell out. My son attempted to put them back in and the glass cracked. I went into the store. The lady working at the counter refused to listen. Even after I explained that they did not put the phone back together correctly she kept quoting the same thing: their warranty did not cover physical damage. She then looked up when the phone had been repaired and it was listed as approximately one and a half months ago. DO NOT get your phone fixed there!!! read more

I've gone here for screen fixes and it has been fine (however now I wonder what state my phone was actually in after the repair.) So I went here when my lightning port and microphone wasn't working. They were very polite and replaced the parts and it still didn't work so they put my originally parts in and didn't charge me. I walked away fine, thinking there was nothing else they could do. I took my phone to the Apple store out of desperation and they informed me that the repair people took out screws and didn't replace them, didn't attach the adhesive correctly, took out a protective layer of the phone and didn't put it back, and damaged the motherboard while taking the parts in and out. So my phone could've been fixed if I took it to Apple first but since I went to Dr. Phonez first, my phone had too many other problems and now I have to buy a whole new phone. read more

Broke my Face ID. I went to get my iPhone screen repaired, and found out my Face ID didn't work afterward. I called Carina and she told me she would call her Manager then call me back. When she called back she said her manager told her that happens and it just won't work anymore. I asked for a refund. Carina said they may be able to do a partial refund, but she would ask her manager. On the third call she informed me that her manager will not issue any refund. Do not take an iPhone that uses FaceID here unless you never want that feature to work again. Really disappointed. Carina is polite but I'll never go there again. This was a known problem that I was not informed of before letting them do the work. If they would have honestly informed me of this I would not have let them do it. They charged the same amount as an Apple authorized repair. Update: I found out my IPhone will tell me a couple times a day my screen is not an authorized part and sometimes I have to tap three times for my IPhone to recognize that I touched it. read more

DO NOT take your computer to Dr Phonez for repairs! Dr Phonez is the most incompetent, dishonest, unprofessional business that I have ever dealt with. What Dr Phonez described as a simple power port fix turned into a number of unreturned calls, no written repair order or any other written history of work performed, and, after almost two months, I received my computer in worst condition than when I took it in. Both the so called General Mgr and the work technician contradicted each other about what work had been performed and refused responsibility for the damage to my computer. I took my computer to another shop and they informed me that the power port repair attempt by Dr Phonez had been completely botched. They had to undo the Dr Phonez mess and redo it the right way, costing me a lot more money. If you have computer issues, save yourself a lot of aggravation and take it to a real computer repair shop. Dr Phonez should stick to selling cell phone covers and let computer repairs to those who know what they are doing. I found that out the hard way. I would rate this sorry excuse for a computer repair operation a minus 5 stars, if I could. read more

Is there a no star rating? I took an Iphone 5C that worked perfectly into their shop and got one back with a nice, new screen but no ability to connect to the cell provider network. After several trips and discussions, their solution to destroying my phone was to put a broken screen back on it and refunding my money. There are other shops in San Antonio to use. I used to come to this place because without a charge they would take care of you. Something as easy as getting tweezers and cleaning out the charging hole. I was here about two months ago with my family and they had no problem cleaning my ear phone hole, now I come in today with the same problem. I was told that they need to take it apart and take off the flex cable just to clean it out. I was amazed, I talked great about this place to everyone and on top of them just to take it out which is 30 dollars if it needed to be replaced it would cost 80. Be warned: DO NOT USE THIS STORE! I took my iPhone 5s in to have the cracked screen replaced. When they first handed me my phone back, I quickly noticed they didn't bother to put the visible screws back in the bottom of my phone. So what else did they do or not do that I couldn't see? Well, first I couldn't hear people from the earpiece when I would take calls. I also noticed what appeared to be a crumpled screen in the ear piece indicating they put my phone back sloppily. When I returned to the same location to have them fix the ear piece, the staff were incredibly rude to me. I have not had such poor customer service in a very long time. They first tried to fix the issue by grabbing a metal implement and poking it into the ear piece to try to move the screen around. Really !?! This clearly didn't correct the speaker volume issue so they took it to the back for a few quick minutes and then returned it to me. It was better but still not the same as it was originally. Since then, I noticed when I'm talking on the phone with it against my ear, the sensor that detects you holding it to your face and turns off the screen so you don't accidentally press buttons was not working correctly. This is extremely frustrating because it never fails when I'm on a call, I'm constantly inadvertently putting people on hold, hitting the mute button, or pressing numbers. After buying such an expensive phone that worked beautifully and then paying $100+ to get it "fixed", I expected better. So, the reason why the sensor isn't working properly? They used a different digitizer than the original. Now in order to be able to use my phone, I am paying another $100 to purchase the right parts and repair it myself. When I began disassembling my phone, I found several missing screws, screws placed in the wrong holes (which if u put a screw too long for the hole u can easily damage the circuit board), and the bracket for the home button cable wasn't even reinstalled and is completely missing. Needless to say, they did an all around shoddy job and I would never use this place again. Seriously, there are plenty of sites online where you can purchase the parts you need with the tools and you can use their step by step guides to replace it yourself. Well worth the time delay in waiting to receive the items via mail to have peace of mind that it will be done with care. Trust me-even with Dr Phonez warranty, I would never let them near any of my devices again. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Took my iPhone in and we told them if you can't fix this don't try we don't want to spend money on it. They assured us they could fix it. Told us it would take $80, then once we paid that said they needed to add $40, then said to come back in two weeks for another $40 repair. So we're looking at $160. I come back the third time and they tell me it's all fixed. I turn it on in front of them and say this phone is still broken. They take it to the back and say oh never mind, the phone will never be fully functional. Excuse me??? I tell them I want my money back so I can start saving to buy a new phone and they said there was no way they would give us a refund. So we are on the phone with the manager and because there were other customers in the store hearing about the bull they tried to sell us, the woman threatened to call the police on us!! Their justification for charging $120 for a phone that can never be fully functional is that they tell all their customers there is a 50% chance it will not work. This was NEVER said to either me or the other person who can to drop my phone off initially, in fact, we made it crystal clear that we DID NOT WANT TO SPEND MONEY if it wasn't totally fixable, and they said absolutely they could fix it all for $80. There should be a no star rating as Dr. Phonez should receive zero stars on all ratings. My husband took my cell phone in because a few keys on my touch screen were not working. I was upset when I found out based on a previously horrible experience at this place (they had my phone for 2 days before calling to say they did not have the proper screen for my phone). I went in later that day and paid the full price for a new screen and walked out. I tested my phone and the keys were still not working properly. I went back in the store and was told to leave it there and they would put on a new screen. They also made a point to give me back my old screen (now I know why they do this.... as you will see in a moment). They told me to come back in one hour. I came back and was told they had called my husband (i had no phone and was out running errands) and he had to take it to the San Pedro location b/c they had no screens. Here is where I should have stopped this whole HIGHLY unprofessional experience but as I had no phone I returned home. I called my husband who was at the San Pedro location and he said the phone was still not working and the female employee (who also told me she was the manager and if so it explains so much about this horrible place) said she tested it and it worked, even though my husband was holding the phone and showing her how the keyboard was not working! Finally she said to leave it there and they would try again tomorrow to fix it (again had I been there I would have said NO give me my money back and fix my phone). My called the next afternoon and was told that the phone was still being repaired. Then not two minutes later, they call back and say they cannot repair the phone and we need to come pick it up, they will refund our money but can't at the location we have to drive back to the 281 location..... what kind of business is this????? So I go to pick it up and the phone has no screen on it. They say oh we can put one on it come back in 20 mins..... so I did and now the phone will not turn on at all. I know it is broken but I have to take it back to the 281 store to complain (it's after 5 and the store closes at 6 so I have to go in the morning). I stew all night knowing that my phone is not completely broken and I am beyond upset. I take it in the following morning and they refund my money and say they will put my screen on. I hand them my screen (which has been in my purse with the receipt since I first picked up my phone). The INCOMPETENT female employee, who again claimed she was the manager, says is this really your screen it isn't broken. I said yes, it was never broken I just couldn't use certain keys. Well again I am told come back in 20 mins, I do and of course my phone will not turn on and is broken. I ask what can be done as they broke my phone it was completely operational when I brought it in the only problem was that a few keys did not work. I was told it was my fault b/c I had the screen and they couldn't account for it when it was not in their possession. I was FURIOUS but held it together and asked for the manager. She said well i guess that is me and I'm the only one she can speak to...WHAT????? I then ask if she owns the store and who does b/c I want to speak to them, she tells me to call San Pedro. I ask for their number and she says to call them again... I politely remind her (as clearly she lacks a great deal of intelligence and any customer service skills) that I have no phone so I cannot look up their number. She then points to a business card and says you can take one of these. I told everyone in the store in not to get their phone repaired there as they just broke my phone. I had to go to my cell phone carrier store later in the day and they quickly activated an old phone and apologized for the horrible service I received a recommended a different phone repair place b/c they too had heard horrible things about this place as well. I plan on calling the manager and want to take my phone back as they claim a new screen would make my phone work (yeah right they broke it) and see what there policy is. The big mistake I made was letting my anger distract me . I should have demanded they put a new screen on right away to show me it did work b/c now that I took it out of their shop they will tell me I broke it even though it was not working at all when I picked it up.
