He explained the IPA's for my wife and I was convinced that I would also enjoy the Italian Pilsner by his recommendation that was on tap. They were perfect. The music was also an excellent match for great food and service. The food was also excellent. As Trent told us, "people may like the beer, but it is the food that they will come back for" So true. We started with the Southern Fried Pickles...oh my...so good. And the accompanying sauces of BBQ and Ranch had flavor and were perfect for dipping. My wife had a cup of Beer Cheese Soup and a House Salad. The soup was great, but still not as good as Stanford's served in the day. The accompanying Pretzel Roll was so good. She was also enamored with the dressing for the salad. The Chef even came out to explain the ingredients to her. I had the Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich with French Fries. This was a sandwich I would not normally order, but the 3 cheeses, bacon and tomato made it so tasty. We will definitely be back as I have already told a few friends how good ABV is.

Here's one of the things I love about The 649. They have a fantastic selection of mocktails that are created with the same creativity, flair, and intention as a "leaded" cocktail. I appreciate that I get to participate and not be stuck with a lemonade, zero alcohol beer, or wine. So, HUZZAH for creating an inviting space for a non-drinker! There *are* times when I'm willing to risk the lobster-bod, itchiness, and stuffy nose and there are plenty of cocktails from which to choose!
