ABV has always been decent. Not amazing but okay. Today I took a friend for the first time. The music playing from a small JBL Bluetooth propped above the bar was playing RAP .... Non-stop... and I heard the ''N' word said over 8 times. Unbelievable. People of color... people with children and we are allowing this? No F'ing way. The food was 'ok' but 45 minutes in a restaurant that has 50% capacity .... Easy stuff. Ribs (premade) . pizza and a chicken sandwich was pretty bad.... Don't bother. It isn't worth the money. I'm out a hundred bucks for two people and a really unpleasant experience. Update: No acknowledgement from manager/owner regarding offensive music and incredibly long wait times for food to arrive at table. This should tell you how serious ABV cares about their service and customer experience. read more

Great first visit to ABV Public House. We have been wanting to go there for some time, but finally did the other night. Trent was phenomenal. He explained the IPA's for my wife and I was convinced that I would also enjoy the Italian Pilsner by his recommendation that was on tap. They were perfect. The music was also an excellent match for great food and service. The food was also excellent. As Trent told us, "people may like the beer, but it is the food that they will come back for" So true. We started with the Southern Fried Pickles...oh my...so good. And the accompanying sauces of BBQ and Ranch had flavor and were perfect for dipping. My wife had a cup of Beer Cheese Soup and a House Salad. The soup was great, but still not as good as Stanford's served in the day. The accompanying Pretzel Roll was so good. She was also enamored with the dressing for the salad. The Chef even came out to explain the ingredients to her. I had the Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich with French Fries. This was a sandwich I would not normally order, but the 3 cheeses, bacon and tomato made it so tasty. We will definitely be back as I have already told a few friends how good ABV is. read more

Service could improve. I would reconsider before coming to this place. After multiple bad experiences with this bar, decided to share my experience and hope I can save other people the headache. Most servers are great but there is one particular server that gives me a bad time every single time she responds with snappiness and acts as if being a customer inconveniences her. Everything seems to be a problem for her. Don't you dare change your mind about what you want to drink or eat. And don't you dare go up to the bar to order because it's "table service". But she is no where to be found for more than 30 minutes. I will not be coming back. I have given this place a few different chances and this server is the only reason I will not be coming here. read more

Fiddy Fiddy burger was killer!! 1/2 beef 1/2 bacon with carmelized onion and blue cheese.... the flavor was off the charts !! Waffle cut sweet potato fries are dangerously good!!Funky little spot with killer food. Service was good , definitely worth checking this place out. read more

A friend recommended this place to us and that we had to try their burgers. They were definitely tasty especially the bleu habanero. The sweet potato waffle fries were perfectly crispy and flavorful, not too salty. The only disappointment was the Margherita pizza which was actually bland. The crust was pale and underbaked. There was too much sauce and the basalmic was heavy handed which made any promising flavors disappear. Would not recommend this place for their pizza. Next time I'll try the wings and a pretzel as both looked like better options. Public coast blueberry cider and the Helvetia mango cider were both delicious and refreshing. Glad they offer a variety of ciders. Service was great. It was a busy night with large groups seated. The high ceilings made conversation easy and not too noisy. read more

We've been coming here for 7+ years, since before we actually moved to Oregon, so I can't believe I haven't left a review until now. Maybe I was subconsciously trying to keep this hidden gem to ourselves. :) And it really is a hidden gem. Hidden in plain sight within a business park. You have to be looking for it to discover it, which I love. It's a very casual place, totally unassuming from the outside. Upon entering you are greeted by the kitchen to your left where there is usually food on the bar waiting to be delivered to its destination. You are welcome to seat yourself and peruse the beer fridge wall, which surrounds the right side of the dining room. Food is always good and on this occasion it was really good. We both ordered burgers, the Oklahoma for me and the Wagyu for my husband. And wow, the grilled onions on the smash burger patties with American cheese and secret sauce, reminded me of my favorite In-N-Out burger, but better because of the perfectly cooked bacon, making it my new favorite burger in Hillsboro. :) We also got the grilled Cesar to share which is always a hit. I love the chargrilled taste of the lettuce and the lemon wedges add nice acidity to the creamy dressing. This is a very secret culinary gem. Tucked away in an industrial park, with no signage other than a tiny A-frame on the sidewalk, you have to really search to find this place. It's worth the trouble. 34 taps and hundreds of bottles of beer make for a beer lovers paradise. That's great! Tape #7 had a marvelous wild ale with cherries, The Kreik. It paired perfectly with the amazing clam pizza. The food is elevated from common pub grub. Thought and love have gone into its making. The result is delicious! Get the clam pizza half with bacon, so you have both tastes. It will change the way you consider pizza, it's that good! First brewery I tried in the area. The ciders were tasty and my pretzel was yummy. We came for a large gathering and on a Friday afternoon, it was pretty busy (1/17 - delayed review). A fun spot with over 30 beers on tap! Their food menu is pretty extensive and pairs well with their drinks. We tried the Beer Cheese Soup, German-style Pretzel, & St. Louis-style Fried Raviolis - all of which was delicious. Some of their walls are conveniently lined with refrigerated panels that have a variety of canned & bottled beverages that you can pay & take home. Been into ABV a number of times, they offer bottle shop options and then a decent amounts of taps. For some reason I just feel overwhelmed with the layout of ABV. I've sat at the bar and I've sat at tables. It's loud and often feels busy. The food was just ok and the service was average the last time we were there. Food was good all around. Unfortunately it was super overshadowed by the guy who was running food out, who was not our server. Is there a more kind terminology for 'bald' guy with long beard? Duuuuude, he was a grump. We felt like he was super pissed or frustrated we were there. It was noisy... like any restaurant; he came out with food and called the first dish under his breath. I think we all leaned in and said "sorry, what was that?" Seeming annoyed, he repeated himself. For the rest of the plates, he half way mumbled the dish, handed the plates off irritated in like... a micro aggressive way(???). When he got to the grilled cheese, it was a huge plate. So my husband asked "oh, is this the kids grilled cheese?" He doesn't respond, and leaves to go back to the kitchen. Once he left, the adults at the table looked up at each other instantaneously because we all were like, "did that just happen???" Who pissed in your Cheerios this morning, because geeze! Was he annoyed we had children there? Pretty well behaved kids, might I add. Mixed kids and Asian patron? Was he annoyed I walked around the entrance with our toddler while we waited for the food to arrive? Bad day spilling over? Any way, that guy should not have been running food. Because damnit, I thought we found a good burger spot. Our server entered 3 of 5 meals in incorrectly, like adult grilled cheese (with tomato) instead of the plain kids grilled cheese. They had a few 'smash burger' varieties on the menu, so he probably selected the incorrect ones. No biggie; we removed the tomatoes, and the burgers we got were still good. He was gracious and apologized. Any way, conflicted by having a good burger and fries with a side of unwelcoming vibes. read more

Good food and cool atmosphere, sadly the service was really poor. We were a party of 7, and we almost had to beg for attention, after 20 min of being seated the server came to ask our drinks order. Then 20 minutes later for the appetizers.. the actual food was a longer waiting time, he came to take our order but apologize saying that he wasn't mean to be rude but he was going to take an small table order first and then he would take ours.. he took at least 30 min to came back. They were 7 plates, and I asked sweet potatoes instead of regular fries and I didn't have sweet potatoes, another person in my party asked for some custom stuff in her sandwich who also got ignore it. Sad to say after Covid this is the second time we have been in to have dinner, beers and cider. I'm guessing they are feeling the pain of being short staffed like so many places. Someone finally said the hostess will be with us in a few minutes. We waited 5-10 minutes and then the same grumpy gentleman that helped us on our last visit seated us. He may be the manager or the owner, but he's definitely not a man of many words or friendly for that matter. The person greeting folks and seating them is usually a tad bit more friendly. Now the food....Oh the food. Burgers and Sandos are now a La carte. New menu with a lamb burger, Mason Hill Wagyu smash burger (single or double) or an ABV Nashville chicken sandwich that you can pick the level of heat , dress it up Traditional Nashville style or Northwest Style. You can also add cheese and bacon. Sweet potato waffle fries replaced the sweet potato tots they used to have that were delicious. Today we started with the sampler platter. It was literally a box of store bought items I've purchased myself from US Food Chef Store. All fried: Mozzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers, coconut shrimp, lumpia and fried pickles. 4 of each with 3 dipping sauces for $25 bucks. Sad that the rest of the menu went away. They had some really good food and interesting combinations. They do still have a variety of appetizers and beer cheese soup. The pretzel we have had before was ok and it's still on the menu as well. Love the rotating beer and cider taps and what you can't find on tap they have a huge variety in all the fridges around the seating area. They so charge $1.50 opening fee for beers or ciders under ten bucks. You can also purchase cans and bottle to go if you find something that you like. read more

Great place to check out a LOT of beers. They've got 30+ taps and well over 100 selections in their coolers. Great and tasty grub as well. Burgers, pizza and more. Relaxed atmosphere. Reasonably priced for meal or snack. Great pretzels! If you can find it, you'll enjoy it. You gotta weave through some warehouses to get there. read more

we always have a wonderful time here. i like how it feels like a dive, with its cozy vibes and exposed wood. the axe throwing is fun and the big tables are great for groups. the staff is so cute and hilarious; everyone is quick to fulfill requests and happy to snap pics for you. of course the menu is excellent as well. i like the beer flight option and getting a couple of appetizers because it's all so good. one of our favorite spots for sure. read more

A family member chose to celebrate their birthday here, so I was looking forward to trying this new place. Anyways sad to say I was very disappointed with how it went, first of all idk who the waiter was but he was definitely either drunk or high as heck on something I couldn't even tell you what, he had a very passive aggressive demeanor about him so that was cool. I ordered the "PigMac" and the German pretzel, the pigmac may look good on picture but it was just a sloppy mess, pretzel was also very mid. So yeah food and service seem poor and not like their specialty. The ambiance and interior is very quirky, why have axe throwing right next to people who are trying to eat? And the place just felt overall kinda dirty and gloomy. I would not recommend this place outside of the alcohol and brew. read more

This was a very nice place to hang out. It's in a strip mall so don't freak out if you think you are lost. There was one waitress and one busser when we went. The waitress was running around like crazy and working very hard. We all ordered many different items. I got the clam pizza and boy was it huge and delicious. Definitely a two person size. Others got burgers and different bar foods. The walls are lined with refrigerators full of different beers. When back in the area, I am definitely going back. Honestly should have left when we saw the kitchen window for ready food was right at the front door and there were 8 plates ready to go out. Great food and great place. They have limited entree's in the menu nowadays. Wagyu smash burger, Nashville chicken sandwich and pulled Nacho's were good ( no fries and salad) part of it. Love this spot. They don't openly advertise, but always seem to be packed. They have a great selection of food and drinks and I love that you can grab a drink from the coolers inside of the shop. there's always something new to try or that I've never seen before. Service is always a bit slow but the staff is always friendly. Who can complain when you have a delicious beverage in your hand? read more

Unfortunately, this place is slowly falling from what it once was. The server has always been amazing. She is literally the same one we get each time. Their brew selection is fantastic! Their menu changes are just sad. The nachos are terrible (comparatively speaking), and their lumpia is on par with the frozen lumpia you get at winco. Half the kitchen was closed, completely understandable with being short staffed, but there is no excuse to not tell us when we checked in. 30 minute wait to find out no salads or pizza. That would've been nice to know. It wasn't even noted on their Facebook page. Very poor leadership, very sad. read more

Marginal food. Poor service. Had to get up and order beverages ourselves every round. Ask for your itemized bill before paying!! Food prices added a few extra cents on each item. I was told my order could not be made gluten free when everyone else's food was being served. The waiter suggested I could leave more than the 20% auto tip. The food and beers are always great, and I've shopped at the home-brew store for years before ABV opened. But had a weird experience tonight. I was served a drink that was at least an inch short of being full, asked the bartender what's up with that and was told that I was served a 16oz drink in a 20oz glass so he couldn't fill it all the way. I have no issue with some head on a beer, but this wasn't that, it was served to me short straight from the tap to the bar. I have no idea if they were out of the correct glassware or if the bartender was just making an excuse, but don't serve your patron's short pours regardless and then tell them they are wrong when they question it. This morning when I went to work, I was under the impression that my wife and kids were going to Red Robin. I also thought that I wouldn't be able to join them due to my shift. It was about 2 or so when I happened to look at my phone. There was a message. "Change of plans. Tired of Red Robin. Going to ABV". This was ok with me seeing as the best thing on their menu is fish and chips. Kind of odd for a "burger joint". Kind of like Dutch Bros calling themselves a coffee house. But I digress... I got off of work around 5:30 and called the other 3/4. Turns out they were en route and i wasn't going to be stuck with pb&j or grilled cheese at home. I got there and sauntered in. I joined them at the table and started to admire all of the cool artwork on the beer/cider cans. I am not much of a drinker, but I do enjoy creativity. So I was thinking about getting chicken wings, but my wife made the executive decision of buying a appetizer plate for the table. Korean barbecue was the flavor that they settled on. Good thing too because I didn't want to die by "Suicide Wings" and wings with peanut sauce makes my stomach turn. It turns out that everyone at the table had a different opinion about the wings. My daughter was indifferent (reason to follow), my wife and sister-in-law had food regret and wished that they had gotten the dry rub. My son thought they were 7/10 spicy, but I thought they were 3/10 spicy. Anything with sesame seeds couldn't be that hot. Anyway I ended up having half of the plate. I had no problem with that. Now let's get to the entrees. My daughter was the outlier. I don't know if they have Mac and cheese (her go to), but she got the biggest pretzel I have ever seen. It makes the pretzel at Ron Tonkin Field **Go Hops** look like a Ritz Cracker. She didn't even dip it, she just systematically pulled it apart and chowed down. Everyone else (except my son who got a kids burger) got the signature ABV burger. It is so nice when you order something "Medium Rare" and it comes to you exactly that way. Warm with just enough pink in the middle, and so juicy that it makes the roll almost like a French dip, but still able to hold up to it. The burger and bacon were delicious and the accompanying fries were just as good. Super crispy and delicious. The whole meal including appetizer and drinks worked out to be $70 before tip. This was probably what we would have spent at Red Robin with not nearly as good results. Not sure why this place isn't on the Best of Hillsboro list and Helvetia Tavern is. Sooooo good read more

Fantastic selection of beers to take home, decent tap menu, and good food. I wish there were more vegetarian options and I hate that the one veggie entrée is the disgusting Impossible burger - seriously, I do not know why otherwise good restaurants have that garbage on their menus. I don't know a single person that would eat one. A grilled cheese with optional add-ons or a grilled veggie sandwich or literally anything else would be better. Anyway. If you ignore that nasty burger option, the rest of the menu is promising. Hubby got the fiddy-fiddy burger and said it was in the top 5 burgers he's had in the area. The fries that came with it were excellent. Friends got the coconut shrimp and the double-burger and both were very happy with their meals. I tried the beer-cheese soup and a side salad. The soup was way too thick but it was decent for dipping the pretzel into. Salad was basic but fresh and fine. Pretzel was a good soft pretzel, nothing special but good enough. Again, better veggie options would be a plus. Service was excellent, both the bartender and our waiter were very friendly and helpful. We loved the selection of beers in fridges that you can drink there (for a small cap-age fee) or take home, really reasonably prices and some gems in those fridges!! We took home a box of beer! This place would be amazing if it had more TVs and bigger drink menus. Came here during happy hour and the food was good. I tried the wings, korean tacos, and happy hour burger. The happy hour burger is small and basic. Plus it doesn't even come with fries. Spend the extra money and grab a better burger. The Korean tacos where the best thing I ate. The wings were decent. The suicide sauce is spicy but not uncontrollabe. The mango bbq tasted great. They have almost 40 beers on tap. They have a wall of refrigerators where you can grab a beer.
