I scurried over to the Little White Shed at McMenamins Cornelius Pass out of pure curiosity (and maybe the faint scent of whiskey drifting through the air), and let me tell you: absolutely exquisite craftsmanship. The humans really knew what they were doing with all that wood. Smooth beams, sturdy structure--honestly, I had to resist the professional urge to take a nibble. (Five stars for temptation alone.) Inside? Cozy! Warm! Not a single predator, unless you count that one guy with the impressive beard. The ambiance feels like a riverside burrow, but with more chairs and fewer siblings crowding the entrance. Plus, the humans seem delighted to bring you treats--no gathering or dam repairs required. Overall, if you're a beaver looking for a charming place to relax, observe humans in their natural habitat, and enjoy the scent of delicious food, the Little White Shed is your spot. With very few places open late we were excited that this gemstone was still open. There is several sitting locations and a dark parking lot which makes it hard to locate if you are not familiar with the area. But you can order food at the shed and the barn. Service was a little slow but we arrived late and when they noticed we need attending they were all on it and we appreciate the hospitality. This is a German style restaurant and hybrid food of the area. It was filling and I would go back for the atmosphere and drinks and a different dish. read more

We enjoyed sitting outside by the fire pits. Limited drink selections in the shed. I went with a single makers neat. They also sell cigars, so if you don't mind the cigar smell or cigarette smell then you will have that present if people choose to partake. It is primarily a whiskey and cigar bar at the white shed. They have a new Redwood shed towards the back of the property that has more craft cocktails and no cigar smoke. read more

Tucked around the corner and through the bushes, from the Mcmenamins Roadhouse, this place can be easy to walk past. Signage for the co-establishment is sub par, but just ask the staff and they will point you. I would recommend this place for any after work gathering. Not sure why Yelp reports this location is closed, because I was just there this last weekend. Got a passport stamp to prove it! This is a pretty great little outdoor bar, situated in a courtyard wedged between Imbrie Hall and the octagonal barn house, specializing in whiskey and cigars. There are several picnic and patio style tables, most with coverings overhead, as well as a few wooden stumps and such scattered throughout. The place was pretty packed when we visited, with all of tables being occupied, and we were told we couldn't loiter near the firepits due to social distancing restrictions, so we took our drinks "to go" and wandered the grounds to keep warm instead. Kinda annoying, but it is what it is. If you can stand the cigar smoke, I can see this place being a fun place to spend a warm spring or summer evening with friends, drinking and socializing. When things with COVID are calmed down and start returning to normal, I can definitely see this happening. read more

This place has so much potential, but the food is just average. I had a burger & fries, and the burger was overcooked and the fries were cold. My niece-in-law went in to give the waitress her cc to pay the bill for the whole party, and the waitress came out to check with her husband ( my nephew) that it was ok (my niece's name is on the cc). I've always had a great experience here. Perfect place to have a relaxing evening close to the fire pit. The Little White Shed is little just like the name says, you may get lucky to find a few places to sit inside but its a tight fit. The seating is outside and people do smoke cigars. If its not summer time be prepared with a jacket or some way to keep warm because it does get cold. Some of the tables have umbrella cover. The Cajun tots are the perfect hot snack to share with everyone. The service was good and food was served hot. Little Sheds are way cool I've found some competition for my favorite little bar in Oregon, the Little Red Shed. Surprise, surprise, this one is comes from the same family, the McMenamins, but instead of red, it's the Little White Shed. Much like its red counter part on the Edgefield property, this little bar sits on the grounds of the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. It too is primarily a whisky and cigar bar, but you can also order a draft or a shot of tequila. Normally I can't stand to be in too smoky of a place, but I sure don't care here because it's so cozy. The best part, though, is of course the whiskey. I never tried much until I was in Ireland and now find that it's a great drink for sipping, especially in the winter. I miss having Bart around, but the new guy Gates is doing a great job and is quickly gaining my respect. He's always attentive, but is happy to sit and chat if the moment allows. My only complaint is that it's getting a bit popular. I'd expect the small shed and surrounding area to get busy during the weekend and especially during summer evenings. Remember when you were a little kid and you made forts in your house with blankets and a table? You would then spend the day eating ice cream and drinking Coke while playing board games...all in your little place that was just for you and your friends. Later that may have become a tree house, were kids could just hang out and be kids. This is the adult version of the fort/tree house. Instead of ice cream and soda, there is a nice selection of single malt scotches and other whiskeys (but I just look at the scotch), and a place to smoke your favorite Dominican cigar. There are other choices from the CPR next door, such as draft beers and mixed drinks, but you are in your adult fort. Why get what you can get everywhere else? The Little White Shed is a small (14' by 14') whiskey and cigar bar on the property at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse (Imbrie Hall) out in Hillsboro. Who would have thought that the best whiskey selection in the state would be out in Hillsboro? Don't get me wrong, there are a few contenders for the title, but all the others are downtown. Approximate selection is as follows: Scotch: around 17 (Almost all single malts ranging in age from 10 to 30 years.) Irish Whiskey: around 7 including 2 single malt Irish Whiskies - Of particular interest is Middleton's - around $20 a shot but the best you can find in Oregon right now as far as I know. (Unless someone still has a bottle of 1966 vintage cask Balvenie lying around. If so, let me know....) Bourbon: around 12 or 13 varieties including the stellar Pappy Van Winkle Canadian Whisky: Zero Blended American Whiskey: Zero That's right kids - they only sell REAL whiskey. The food is standard McMenamins fare delivered from the restaurant a couple of hundred feet away. They have 3 beers on tap and Tequila and Rum in addition to the whiskey. Oh, and it is also a cigar bar, so if cigarette and cigar smoke bother you, this probably isn't the place. The upside is that because this is a separate building and the only place on the property you can smoke it doesn't interfere with anyone else. If you like good whiskey, you really owe it to yourself to check this place out. read more

The 2 hour bus, max, bus ride out there was a pain, but at least I could soak my feet in bourbon once I finished work. This shed is cosy, filled with earthy smells and people, and perhaps most important, stocked with a wide array of spirits. This is the kind of place you want to go when you need a quiet place to chat during the week, or a mostly quiet place to get sauced during the weekend. At the time they allowed the pipe, cigar, and cigarette smoke. However, I doubt the laws have not found a way to steal that from them. Too bad I think. A good pipe filled with Rich's Tobacco add side of lagavulin could really sum this place up. read more

This little shed is probably the coolest place ever. I've only been here once for a small Birthday gathering. It was during the Fall months, so we were able to sit outside, enjoy the evening by the fire pit, smoke cigars and sip on some whiskey. Bart is a whiskey EXPERT and tends out here and made an evening memorable. They have superb selection. Evidence: shots ranging from $7-$40 (most decents are in the $9 range). Was out there on a whim and decided to try and get a little more learned on whiskey. Bart gave me an education. We ended up giving him a tip for no order at all, just his knowledge, and on his recommendation ordering flights inside the roadhouse to develop our palettes. (flights aren't possible in the white shed yet I guess...) We preferred to drink with Bart though so we ventured back. The wood fired stove is an excellent touch. The reviews alluding to forts/tree houses are right on. I picture that this is more of what robin hood and little john would have stopped at for a pint. read more

This is a neat little place on the property at McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. It doesn't look like much on the outside, and when you walk in, it still isn't, but that's what makes it so great! My wife and I stopped by here on a cold February day. We walked inside, had a fire going, and it had the feel of a nice,small, rustic cabin. They had an assortment of beers, wine and liquors that you would find at any McMenamins. Bartender was very friendly, and told my wife and I all about the property when we asked. Just outside the shed is a nice outdoor sitting area, but not your traditional seating, more like a campground/campfire setting around a fire pit. If it had been a touch warmer, and not raining, we probably would have sat outside here for a bit. We will definitely need to go back in the summer and sit around out here while enjoying a drink. read more

Little White Shed is a tiny quaint shack on the McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse grounds. It has a very small inside area but the main attraction is the fire pit outside. It has a few tables gathered around with a weird rocker dude atop the pit. They tend to the fire often so you're able to just relax. In addition you can have food, drinks or cigars at the pit and it's just a cool spot to hang out. read more

This is by far one of the greatest hidden treasures you can find in a suburb. So some friends of ours took us to a McMenamins property in Hillsboro where we were going to have a drink at the tavern. My curiosity got the best of me and I started to walk through this "forest" as the other's followed. I came up on this little white shed where this long bearded man was sitting behind this little bar. A whiskey bar with one beer tap "Hammerhead". I half expected a few hobbits to be sitting at the one table hidden in a fort like nook. We sat here til it closed and felt like we were taken back in time or at least a Peter Jackson movie set. A top quality man's man hangout. I have spent many nights playing cards and enjoying the warm atmosphere. Bart is a staple and makes you feel like you have been old friends for years.
