Well, fast forward to now and I realized that I really need to stop putting it off. Dr Mells's office was able to get me in in about a week for a consultation. The doctor looked at my x-rays and said I did not need a bone graft, just the deep cleaning and root planing. Quite literally everyone in this office is kind, compassionate and empathetic. They are patient and understanding and funny. During the route planning, I have to listen to very loud music and sometimes, it may not be the most appropriate lyrics but it gets my mind off of what's going on in my mouth. Dr Mells told me that she heard every single word. Oops! But I promise you, if you are afraid of the dentist, this practice is awesome. You're not sitting forever waiting, they get you back pretty quickly and it's always with a smile and a greeting. I have definitely found my new dentist office!

Dr. Stephan Barrington is my new dentist and I am so grateful I found him and this office. He and his assistant took great care of me and never seemed rushed or distracted. I was able to get a crown and a filling all in one appointment. The permanent crown is done that day! No waiting weeks with a fragile temporary. The entire staff is great and very good about answering any questions I have. I even received a call today (Saturday) from the Dr. to check and see how I was doing. At the end of cleaning before you leave the hygienist, Jennie asked if I wanted a fluoride rinse and said it was covered by my insurance. I agreed. Then she gave me five cents worth of rinse in a cup to swish and a month later I get a bill for $21 because insurance did not cover!! The dentist seems nice enough but he tells you that you have all kinds of dental issues and then they give you an estimate with billing codes that don't exist and each treatment charge is in the thousands that are mostly not approved by your insurance. GET PRE-APPROVAL FOR EVERYTHING before agreeing to have anything done. Delta Dental Which is heavily lobbied by the American Dental Association will look the other way and will not advocate for you. You will end up paying out of pocket for most of their bogus charges. BEWARE!!

I scheduled an appointment with Dr Perri and away we went. Dr Perri's assistant/office worker, Morgan, who was a very professional youth lady and around the same age as Nicholas, let me know the cost and that my dental insurance at the time was very limited. As it turned out, my co-pay for the removal to four wisdom teeth was quite large. I asked Morgan if I would be able to split the payment up into a few payments, and she told me she would discuss it with Dr. Perry. Either way the procedure had to be done. After the procedure, and having not heard back from Morgan, I broke out the old check book. Praying I had enough money cover the large co-payment I was sure I was now expected to render before I left. I asked what the total would be and Morgan smiled her pretty smile and told me the Dr Perri had waived the ENTIRE co-payment. Eternally grateful, Dr Perri and BFD became my family Dentist from that day forward. Time rolls on and through the years, we were able to enjoy Dr Perri's Morgan's and later Dr Ashley Araiza's care. Time continued, and Dr Perry was called home (RIP). Nick and Ashley became adults and moved on with their lives. Having lost my health care in 2014 due to government mandated yearly rising cost, I also lost my dental insurance. Needing some dental repairs, I once again called BFD. Hearing Morgans familiar voice, I scheduled an appointment for myself. Dr. Araiza was able to fix the problem and only charged me a very reasonable fee. Its great to have good Family friends to rely on in a time of need. Thank Dr. Araiza, Morgan, and The rest of the BFD staff for many years on dedicated Family Dental Care. Five stars for you!
