I needed 2 adjacent crowns to be replaced due to cavities underneath. My experience was terribly beyond belief!!! I had to raise my hand 6 times so that excess water and saliva did not go down my throat. Additionally, I gagged twice while dentist was drilling! I am 74 years old and never had to raise my hand more than once due to excess fluids in my mouth. Further, I was over-charged by $160.60 and I am still waiting for refund "from corporate" SIX WEEKS LATER! Dental hygienist was wonderful. However, Terrible service by dentist and disgusting time lag in refunding my money. Avoid this dentist. read more

Don't say this is the office for Dr Call when he isn't there! How rude to not inform your customers that 99% of the staff has changed (although they are very nice). Such a culture shock, felt weird by no one addressing the elephant in the room. So far, my experience with any dentists is horrible. If anyone tells me I am too capricious, it is easy prove - I paid so much money, and lost more teeth. I hoped A Smile Shoppe would be better, but something strange is going on with that business. My coworker recommended Dr. Call, and he looked OK until he disappeared one day! As well as all his staff. New staff member promised a FREE consultation with Dr. Tibbitts, the owner. I am so tired dealing with new dentists and just pay money for nothing (in the best case), so I called twice, and asked one more time in the office about if it's free (they assured me they could use my previous X-rays from Dr. Call), waited for 40 minutes, and... right before I was ready to go to the room, they told me I had to pay $300 for X-rays for my prospective BEFORE he could see me! I was so upset and let that receptionist know how offended I was. I expected a free consultation to decide IF I can afford implants! I didn't yell, but I told her what I thought about it. The receptionist kept arguing trying to prove she was right. I was telling her she wasn't because she had told me it would be free. If she had told me, and been honest, it would have been different. Yes, I was upset, no wonder! She could have just taken my payment, but she kept arguing and arguing with me when I was ready to pay. I told her - just take my card, but... she said that I am upset (heck yeah!), and we were not a good match, and I had to go and look for another dentist! The doctor already went back to the room before she turned me away with my card in my hands, unbelievable. I told her I would file a complaint, and I should have written a letter to Dr. Tibbitts about how unprofessional that member of his team is. Anyways, stay away from that crazy office. read more

They were charging us out of network prices the entire time and when we brought the issue up with them they told us we would be receiving a refund promptly...that was almost 7 months ago and we still have not received a refund. I have called emailed and get the same run around with no end sight. Year 2023 I had a botched sinus lift (most likely skimped on the bone graft to save a few bucks) and one of the dental implants perforated my sinus. Suffered with dental plaque infecting my sinuses for 4 months until a CT scan was finally done and revealed the perforated sinus. What a nightmare!!! Couldn't remove the dental implants until the sinus infection was cleaned out which was another 4 months of getting scheduled for that surgery. Very painful! Not to mention the 4 rounds of antibiotics that have destroyed my digestive system and taking 6-8 month of getting that back to normal. Both bogus implants had to be removed, healing fine and on my path to getting new implants from a more reputable qualified dentist. What a waste of thousands of dollars, a year of suffering and now spending over $20,000 to do the job right this time. I have now learned that there are lesser quality implants, bone graft material and qualified dentist, SO DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!! FYI This has NOT been Dr. Sorge's office for over 5 years or more now so this review is NOT about his services. I hear Dr. Sorge is now in San Clemente, he is wonderful! Miss him. read more

The conversation about insurance and coverage has been so tricky and she hit wall after wall and kept going until we found out what exactly my coverage was! Paid them over $1000 Upfront because that's what my insurance would not cover when in spoke to the dentist and the office manager to get this corrected here we are months later with them threatening to put me in collections over some thing I've already paid for in cash and also with insurance stay as far away from this place as possible office manager Alejandra is super annoying last time they gave me an issue I went in the office and spoke to her and the dentist and was told they don't put people in collections then why do I have a voicemail from them stating I will be placed in collections last attempt is today. Clean efficient and friendly. Smile shoppe is a great dentist to go for regular cleanings and also orthodontics. I get regular cleanings here and also recently got Invisalign through the practice. In terms of attentiveness and caring for their patients, the doctors here go above and beyond. I have been struggling with intense jaw pain and popping and clicking for well over a decade. Other dentists have told me to try a warm compress and some ibuprofen, which I did to no effect. Conversely, the doctors at smile shoppe have addressed the structural issues that led to my bruxism and TMD. My smile is looking better and the pain in my jaw is reducing. The staff at the dentist go above and beyond to make sure that your payments and insurance work to your benefit. Without being solicited, Rachel figured out how to maximize my dental benefits and I am paying nothing for Invisalign. Amazing work. I was still cautious & nervous about what was going to happen once I went back. Well ANOTHER SURPRISE! My technician was amazing & my cleaning was not painful OR messy! I feel so fortunate to have an amazing dentist in my neighborhood. They're everything that you want out of a dentist and nothing like the dentist you're afraid of going to. The front desk ladies are all friendly and they're really great at getting back to you if they have an earlier appointment due to cancellation. A Smile Shoppe has two dentists here, Dr Sorge and Dr Call. Both of them are absolutely amazing!! Deborah is my dental assistant that I get every time. A good friend of mine referred me to Dr. James Sorge at A Smile Shoppe, however, I was reluctant because of the commute (at the time I was living in Carlsbad)...but man was it worth the drive. I've been in to see Dr. Sorge and his staff about 2 dozen times in the last 2 years. Started with general dentistry (cavities etc) and just finished up my orthodontics and got the braces removed! Next up is cosmetic. The results are already amazing. I have to say that this is the most welcoming and friendly dentistry I've ever been apart of. Dr. Sorge and his skilled staff made me feel about as comfortable as I could sitting in that chair, haha. I have been seeing him for over a year, during which time he has helped me with numerous dental issues and improved the overall health of my teeth. Dr. Sorge and his staff are very gentle, caring, and professional. He also referred me to a great specialist in order to save a tooth which otherwise would need to be extracted. After getting all the necessary work done, including a implant, I inquired about cosmetic improvements. I explained to Dr. Sorge that I wasn't looking for "perfect teeth", I just wanted a nice smile. I have had an excellent experience with Dr. Sorge and the office staff at A Smile Shoppe! They were able to see me as a new patient with tooth pain the same day! The office is like a boutique or spa-there is a complimentary beverage cooler in the wait room as well as soothing decor...they are "green" as well-all signatures and forms were completed on the computer! I really appreciated that. After my initial consultation, including X-rays and exam, Dr. Sorge discussed my treatment options for the current problem as well as mapped out a plan for smaller issues to be corrected in the future- I left the office with a detailed report including a timeline and all fees associated with my dental work. THIS IS LONG OVERDUE!!! -BEST DENTIST! -BEST STAFF! -BEST PRICE! Where to start? Dr Sorge is the most AMAZING dentist EVER! I feel blessed beyond belief to have finally been referred to him after years of bad dentists, bad work & really bad teeth. This man is an artist! He creates the most beautiful smiles. The office is beautiful, very up to date & the staff is the sweetest!!! And NO he is not expensive! I went to 3 different dentists for quotes right before Dr. Sorge as I had extensive work needed- 5 implants, multiple crowns, extractions, you name it I was all messed up. I had put off all this work for almost a decade! On top of the necessary work I also wanted veneers or something to achieve that gorgeous smile I always desired. For the price I was quoted by 2 Temecula offices for just 4 implants, Dr Sorge gave me an entirely new smile, only 6 of my original teeth are left untouched. I got implants, Crowns, a Bridge and all my front teeth veneered (actually full porcelain crowns up front to be exact)! Basically I have a movie star smile now! :) Every tooth looks absolutely perfect inside & out!!!!!!! I thought a smile like this would cost me $100,000 and I'd never get it but nope, thanks to Dr. Sorge I got it for almost 1/5th of that! YEP 1/5th! Now I know being "in Network" helped a lot (delta dental) but even without the discount the price was unbeatable ESPECIALLY for this type of high end, quality work. I could go on and on about what I got for the money......Still blows my mind When I say he is an artist I mean it! I came in with a dream, he listened. He had a plan to get me there after the first consultation. He gave options. He educated me. He made me feel very important and I knew he understood exactly what I wanted. All I knew is the teeth you couldn't see were either missing or in bad shape and the ones you could see weren't worth seeing. They were so yellow & I had old fillings causing multiple variations of color. I knew I didn't like my front teeth and I hated my smile. When I laughed, I covered my mouth with my hand. Dr. Sorge identified all the reasons why. On top of the discoloration, my teeth receded slightly causing already too small teeth to look even less prominent. The angle in which they receded also caused my lower jaw to recede back into my skull to accommodate. He fixed all that! I wore a stint to bring my jaw back in place and he set my new front teeth perfectly straight and made them the correct size to achieve that prominent beautiful smile! Oh and the chin moving back forward helped the overall beauty of my face and profile! He was meticulous about each individual tooth and took his time, every time. I went from NEVER showing my teeth in pictures to grinning like the Cheshire Cat every time! :))) If you don't go there, you're cheating yourself to sum it up! I have nothing but good things to say about my experiences at the Smile Shoppe and Dr. Sorge and his staff. After moving to Fallbrook 2 years ago it has taken some time to find a dentist and I couldn't be happier. After my initial exam and having my teeth cleaned twice I knew that this was the dentist I wanted to give me my new look. I was way overdue to have a bridge and front caps replaced, but, had put it off for fear of the pain of an extensive visit. Dr. Sorge cleared his morning calendar and devoted a half day to my benefit. I was never in any discomfort. I am a tinkerbell when it comes to dental visits so this is saying a lot. My new smile that he created with my input turned out to be exactly what I wanted. Dr. Sorge listened to what was important to me and made good suggestions, but was not pushy in any way in the process. He is a good listener, and this was one of the most important factors to me in my decision process. My new smile is brighter and more beautiful while being age appropriate as well. I'm not 30 any more and I don't want people to focus on unusually white teeth for my age. I feel more confident when I smile knowing how beautiful my teeth look. It's a boost to the moral for sure. I went in recently as I needed a cleaning and exam since I hadn't seen a dentist since the pandemic started. They originally scheduled me for the end of Sept but I had requested to be "wait listed" in case someone canceled their appointment. Luckily, someone canceled and I could get in about a month sooner!!! The office was clean, respectful of COVID restrictions and the staff were kind and happy to have me there. I explained that I LOVE my teeth and want the best care for them(mostly b/c I love to eat!). I met two dentists and am thrilled that I found a dentists office that I can trust with my "pearly whites". The woman that did my cleaning was both professional and did a great job. I left the office feeling sparkling SMILING. I will be going in again this week for more extensive work and will update if my feelings change, however, I have already referred a friend and am confident that anyone who goes there will also leave SMILING.
