Dr. I'm is an amazing dentist. The care she provides for her patience is beyond what ordinary dentist provides. My filling from other doctors had mercury and you could see the dark spots, but Dr. I'm cleaned it all out and filled it beautifully. She takes time to explain with all the findings so you are well informed before every procedure. She truly makes your smile beautiful! Very expensive, and when the work failed, accountability was not there. I had a crown placed on tooth 19 on 12/23/2025. After placement, I continued having pain and cold sensitivity, and I raised concerns before any root canal was done that the crown was not contacting or functioning correctly. Multiple adjustments were made, but the problem was not resolved. I was then told to proceed with a root canal, and after that the crown still was not functioning properly. The end result was a crown with no proper occlusal contact that was not functional for normal chewing. Dr. Im also stated in writing, "You won't need a new crown" and "We do not remake crowns (my crowns) after root canal treatment." Despite all of that, Dr. Im refused to replace the crown or issue a refund. In my experience, the office felt more sales oriented than patient outcome oriented, and I was not comfortable with how far discussions went beyond the core dental issue I came in to address. I have filed complaints with the Dental Board of California and the California Attorney General. read more

I called in because I suspected I had a severe tongue tie and they made me an appt to see the dentist. The experience was bizarre. First of all it took wayyy too long (I was there over 2 hours) just for a consult - no cleaning or anything. It was totally disorganized - they were having me fill out a million forms on paper then the same forms on a digital screen which took so long and I had to stop to start the appt. Dr Im would have kept me even longer and acted annoyed I had to leave after 2 hours 15 minutes. Secondly, Dr Im has a strange bedside manner. She didn't really "diagnose me" - she just rambled about tongue ties and kept pulling up screenshots on her computer to show me. It was a disjointed "presentation" not a diagnosis and I was entirely unclear what did or didn't relate to me. I kept asking questions to clarify and she would answer nonsensically so I kept getting more confused. Her assistant took about a thousand high res images and a scan of my skull. With no physical examination or further follow up using an explorer tool to tap on my teeth and feel for irregularities, she then declared I had "leaky fillings" and dental decay. She didn't tell me which specific teeth were supposedly experiencing these issues. I explained I had just last month had a dental exam and x rays and was cleared with no issues. She stated that you wouldn't see the decay on X-rays, only on her amazing cameras but assured me it could be reallyyy bad underneath (wouldn't you see it on the X-rays then?). She scoffed at the idea that a dentist can diagnose teeth unless they have her expensive camera set up. I think it's suspect she didn't ask to review my recent X-rays and simply dismissed them outright. IMO it is highly unusual and not best practice for a dentist to rely only on images, even high-resolution ones, to diagnose the condition of a filling. She appeared to have a bias towards technology, and came across as overly reliant on her camera system. My spidey senses were going off like crazy. After wasting my time she ended by saying I'd need to make an appt with their myofunctional therapist for an evaluation - why wasn't I sent there first? I didn't need a dental evaluation - I was looking for a tongue tie evaluation. I called my dentist and reported what they said about my teeth and they had me come back free of charge and my dentist said "your teeth are fine. No cavities. The fillings aren't cracked. You want to keep them as long as possible and avoid messing with them when not necessary." I found another dental office that, when I called, directed me to their myofunctional therapist directly for a consult. I'm so glad I didn't end up using Dr Im for my tongue tie. As others say be very very careful if you go here... and if she says you need a gazillion new fillings get another opinion! read more

The best dentist experience I've ever had! everyone is extremely friendly and helpful, the office is beautiful and they helped me solve multiple complex issues related to my tmj/ jaw/ and sleep apnea. They don't make the mistake of only focusing on dental but also address and keep track of your skeletal alignment and function. 10/10 even if you aren't located close to them it's worth the drive! After exhausting all of my sons ortho benefits and 4 + years later, we have decided to seek out another orthodontist. We had been working towards palate expansion for my son. We followed protocol. At almost every appt. Dr. Im needed clarification on where we were headed with expansion. It was bothersome, but I kept hoping for the best. At our last appt, she wanted to do a make shift alteration to his appliance instead of properly removing it and repositioning it. Long story after years of visits, his mouth is unchanged. Absolutely unacceptable. I write this to warn other potential patients to follow your gut. If it doesn't make sense time after time, go somewhere else. Loved everything about it here. Dr. Trar Wasemilller was super helpful and comforting but the best part was that she explained everything to me !! She showed me realistic pictures of other patients' teeth and showed me the pictures of my teeth and broke everything down and it was so helpful and educational. No dentist has ever done that with me so I was shocked to see that. Loved her and so definitely recommend :) also the staff was amazing, I got to watch 'Friends', they gave a heated pillow, a blanket, and applesauce to eat after when my mouth was numb. I love Dr. Helen and all their staff. I started coming here back in 2014 and stopped for two years. I had my first appointment today after a long few years and Dr. Helen and her staff were just as friendly, funny, and loving as before! What I really love is that she and her staff ALWAYS explain thoroughly what your situation or problems are and help educate you, rather than just saying you need to get something done and never explain. I feel so comfortable and don't have any qualms, concerns, or worries, even if there's much to be done. You can tell Dr. Helen cares for her patients and is genuinely passionate about what she does! I've never had any better experience in dental care or almost any other aspect of health than here, and I'm so glad my aunt who used to work for her recommended me to her those few years ago. Yes sometimes they don't entirely follow the schedule, but honestly, the time they give you and each of their patients and care? It's worth the waiting or extra few minutes in my opinion. Good Dentist but Very Rigid Schedule! Once I called in because I was coughing my lungs out to warn them of my contagious condition. I still showed up so that was not a big deal. A couple of months later, my car had an oil leak and asked for a later appointment so I can take my wifes car but they couldn't accommodate. So instead they charged me $200 for a "no show" due to my bad "pattern" of cancelling. I was shocked. So I took my business away. There are plenty of good options out there. read more

I was looking for a new dentist in the Murrieta-Temecula area and everyone I walked in and spoke to or called on the phone were still using fluoride for "cleaning" and mercury for fillings, so I walked out, still looking. Finally I Googled, "holistic dentistry" and found only one in this area, Dr Helen Im. Everyone I spoke to was nice and knowledgeable. I have had other dentists tell me that "this will be it" on my teeth and that I'm finally with a professional and they will fix the previous dentists sloppy work. I've had some of the same teeth worked on by four previous dentists over 14 years worth and I found with Dr Im and with her superior technology, expertise and equipment, that all those previous dentists all missed it and THEIR work was sloppy and used mercury when they told me that they were not. they lied and caused further decay. I paid extra for not using mercury and they still used it anyways as it was hidden inside the crown. With Dr. Helen Im, it was the first time that the head dentist didn't pass me over to immediately to their dental assistants. She took her time to explain EVERYTHING on my first visit. I saw my teeth blown up visually on the screen and things that I had questioned to previous dentists that they simply said it was OK because the x-rays didn't show anything, turned out really to have been "areas of concern" which they ignored years previous. Make sure you ask questions BEFORE sitting in that chair and if they still use fluoride and mercury and ONLY X-rays to see your teeth, move on. They are using dinosaur technology and actually causing you more harm than good. I have a couple more visits to complete my treatment. I have temporarily moved out of the area but I will continue to stay with Dr. Im and recommend her and her wonderful staff 100 percent. janet williams read more

She is a joke of a "dentist" and crappy business owner. Decides to wait until pandemic time to audit her books and collect money from unknowing patients. I have spent more than $1200 on one visit alone just for myself for a filling, not to mention the cost of my child's dental work for a single cleaning. She gave me a laundry list of things she thought needed to be done such a clip a tongue tie up in LA (on a grown woman?!?), did a CT scan of my head, wanted to get me into some sort of braces contraption, even though she is not an orthodontist, at home sleep study, all kinds of unnecessary bull she knew good and well my insurance would never cover in a million years. I haven't heard from them since August of 2018 when I stopped using their office because frankly our middle class income can't support using a ritzy dentist like her and now all of the sudden when everyone is out of work and low on cash, she wants to collect money they didn't even know was missing?! Not my fault you weren't on top of your books for two years and now all of the sudden there's an urge to collect! What a piece of work she is! Why start sending out statements that are over two years old at a time like this. Pretty crappy ethics if you ask me. Only after the money. I get people go into business for a reason but the way you treat people keeps them either coming back or not. Do not recommend. I found another dentist I really like who is reasonable and doesn't try to nickel and dime you to death. For kids, SC Dental best is great! Dr. Hame is amazing and super patient with kids, unlike the vibe I got from Helen Im who was pushy with my son when he got squirmy. For adults, Ku Family Dentistry is a great option! read more

I was in town from Atlanta and was having problem with dental surgery i had in atlanta the week before. dr. Im's staff got me in quickly for an emergency appointment and turns out i needed to see a dental surgeon. I was in so much pain I was hardly coherent and her staff not only referred me to a surgeon but personally called them to get me in same day. Hands down, Dr. Im is the absolute best dentist ever. My husband's mouth has been totally restored and he couldn't be happier. She worked one quadrant at a time removing old mercury, old crowns, and cleaning cavities. When she could not do new fillings, she equipped him with new crowns and a bridge that were totally manufactured in-house. His bite is now perfect. His teeth look flawless. Dr Im is a light in a very dark industry! She keeps the Mercury away from our sensitive brains and helps us breath again. With all of the knowledge you gain from your first exam, you learn why sleep is difficult, why your anxious, even why your fillings (from other dentists) are hiding cavities in your teeth. He explained that he could not and requested a later appointment himself for the same day. Due to an unforeseen situation coming up. Alright, so I'm the type of person who rarely writes reviews on yelp, however, I felt that the service at Helen Im's practice was so exceptional I had to let people know about it. Everything was great - the staff was very friendly and provided great service, I had a great time talking to to everyone (including Dr. Im), I loved the fact that they have tv's installed so that patients can watch whatever they want while the cleaning is being done, and on and on and on. Dr. Im is very detail oriented and a great go to dentist if you have a lot going on in your mouth (including a lot of past crowns, bridges, root canals). She is holistic and that was a big plus for me. She also does root canals in office so no need to go elsewhere for that. However she is costly and finds way too many "tiny" so called cavities that may not have been cavities if taken the wait and see approach. That would be my only complaint is that she get rid of that "beeping" cavity finder she has. Sadly I had to go elsewhere after my wallet broke and realized I paid too much out of pocket due to her not being in-policy provider. read more

She was very gentle/tender handling my oral cavity and really took her time cleaning ever nook/cranny. She apologized for taking so long... It takes longer to do a good job, don't apologize, thank you. She took time to listen about my life, concerns, and educated me about my oral health.
