Holy crap! There are so many things. But right now I'm fixing our bathroom. These dudes did not use water resistant drywall or waterproof paint. That should not be a surprise, they legit did not paint the interior AT ALL. The house just had primer indoors. So, without waterproof paint, our drywall is completely f'ed. I found mold. I'm so sad we bought this house. Would have been way better to just fix up an old house with good bones. I think the bones of this house might just be untreated drywall.

I was the victim of racial profiling and this person was trying to steal my home keys .

Hello, I'm writing to express my dissatisfaction with our experience during and after the final walkthrough and the closing of our new home today. Despite closing on the house and having our walkthrough with Ron this morning, we encountered several issues. Many of the blue tapes indicating needed touch-ups and or painting, were simply removed, leaving the various paint tones unaddressed. During our walkthrough, we informed Connor La Pine of the incomplete work and our unwillingness to sign off until it was resolved. Connor was upset, seemingly because our lender had requested a final document at the same time. Unfortunately, he directed his frustration towards my pregnant wife, Karine Yazidzhyan, and me. He approached us in the kitchen, placed his hands on the counter, and raised his voice, saying, "I'm not worried about this paint; I'm more concerned about your loan." When I asked why, he explained that he had sent a document to our lender a week ago, and now our lender needed a different one. I reassured him not to worry about our loan and to focus on fixing the paint issues by the end of the day, as our loan would be funded by then. Connor's disrespectful tone towards my wife prompted me to ask him to leave us alone. Ron was present and called in painters to rectify the issues that should have been resolved before the walkthrough. By 2 pm, Ron confirmed that the walls had been repainted and everything was in order. Around 1 pm, our lender informed us that the funding was complete, and we could pick up our keys. Our realtor notified us around 3 pm that the keys were ready at Connor's office. When my wife and I arrived to collect our keys, Connor handed us a small bag containing the keys and garage opener, slamming them on the table in front of my pregnant wife. My wife asked if she could express her feelings about the treatment we received during the transaction. Connor's attitude, lack of customer service, and professionalism were unacceptable. As my wife tried to speak, Connor kept interrupting her. I intervened, asking him to listen. Connor then angrily declared, "You know what, we're done here!" and began to take back our keys. I stepped in and took the bag from him. He retreated to his office, where a woman who appeared to be neither a customer nor an employee, was present. I called Ron to find out who Connor's supervisor was and was given Bill Lewis' number. Despite multiple attempts, I couldn't reach him. Connor then called the police. We stayed in the office, awaiting someone to properly hand over our keys and explain essential details like the gate code, mail box location, garage opener, etc. The police arrived, listened to our account, had my wife sign, and we finally left with our keys. I believe we were subjected to profiling and discrimination. Connor's behavior towards my lender, my real estate agent, my wife and and myself, all of Middle Eastern descent, was deeply troubling. His demeanor, attitude, and passive aggressiveness are unacceptable. Is this how DR Horton treats home buyers? If I had known, I would never have considered purchasing a home from you. I demand a formal apology to my wife from Connor La Pine. Our attorneys will advise us on the next steps regarding today's distressing experience. This incident has caused my six-month pregnant wife tremendous stress, overshadowing what should have been a joyous occasion. This treatment is unacceptable and must be addressed. Purchasing a home should be a positive experience, not marred by such unacceptable behavior. I am prepared to file a complaint against Connor La Pine's real estate license for his unethical actions in attempting to withhold our keys. I have attached a photo of the three police cars that arrived due to Connor's inability to provide proper customer service. His disrespect and discrimination against me, my culture, and my family will not be tolerated.

It is a shame that so much money is being WASTED by this COMPANY. They do NOT know how to build houses. Everything is half-assed to save money & they'll give you the shittiest house you'll ever live in. No drawers in all bathrooms, cracks everywhere on the ceiling, cheap ass blinds, I dont think there's any insulation in all the walls, sound travels, close a door & the whole house shakes, everything is shit & this house is BRAND NEW!!! DO NOT buy from this company, theyre not builders, theyre a bunch of flukes. This company is a JOKE!! What a damn shame.

They talk to you about buying a duplex but it's really a townhouse so it's one unit not two. Misleading.

Step right up Homey, don't wander away,…read more I have a house story that won't take all day. 3 years and 3 months; Emails galore! 787, there was probably more. Drafting's delays brought a shocking surprise, The Admin just smiled; dollar-signs in her eyes! "Your NTP deadline: You missed it. How sad!" "Forty-five K to your home price, is what I will add." Their superintendents? They sit in their swivelly chairs. Tapping their pencils & twisting their hairs. "Go build!" they will call, then hang up and grin, Their subs do it all. They barely step in! Once a week for a peek, a quick photo & flash, Then back to their desks with a whirl and a dash! They dragged out my build! Then, oh heavens wait. The bank made me sign for a much higher rate! 1 more day late and the rate would have soared, With mortgage that high, there's no way I'd afford! I'd have sold off my house, though I wanted to stay, All thanks to their dragging the build out that way. Workmanship issues? Their grand master plan is, Send the same people out. They'll fail again! My doors went drip-drip, a soggy-old chore, Four "fixes" later, still puddles on floor! My laminate buckled, all wavy and bent, At try number five, the leaks finally went. Housewarming gift? A spectacular thrill-- An eight-hundred dollar unjust power bill. The A/C confused, it could not decide, To heat or to cool--so it did both inside! I stayed silent on that, for I fear legal fuss, Knew their lawyers would shout, "Not a penny from us!" If you still hire Adair, I'll give you a tip, Your taxes pay folks who will check workmanship. But Adair keeps that hidden. They'll never confess, The state can inspect while you're stuck in the mess. So heed the advice in this tale of despair, Jenny says, "Run Forest! Run!" and "Buyer! Beware!" And listen to others, their reviews are quite clear, Adair, do us a favor and just disappear!

I have written this review to inform potential customers of my experience w/Hunters Investment…read moreGroup, LLC DBA Hunters Home Builder. What originally stood out to me about the owner's ad was his profile picture, which is a military picture of him. As a Veteran, I contacted his company because I like to support my Veteran community and know that service (and former) members hold themselves to high standards. During his interview, he was explaining to me that he goes above the requirements needed to maintain his contractor's license. He also told me his son who works for him does not know much about construction & cuts corners but, assured me that he does not allow him to cut corners on his watch. Despite him telling me that about his son, I hired him anyway because I trusted he maintained those high military standards. BREACH OF CONTRACT. I hired the company to frame/install 3 windows into walls w/non-existing windows. Upon "completion", I paid the remaining balance. Immediately after paying him, I asked for a receipt & to sign the certificate of completion as stated on his contract I signed. I was told no and did not & will not provide me with a receipt stating I have paid the balance in full. I contacted him asking for a receipt and he refuses to acknowledge my request. CONSTRUCTION CODE VIOLATION/POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP. After installing 3 of 3 windows, I noticed there was not weather proofing barrier installed between any of the wood/window frames. I asked the owner how he was going to seal it & he said he was going to use caulking. I then witness the son beginning to stucco the edges of the window pane w/out weather proofing. I asked him if he needed to put some type of material between the wood and window frames and he said no. After they left, I inspected the windows and saw the son did a subpar job with stuccoing and was uneasy about missing weather proofing. I texted both questioning how they plan on sealing the windows, w/complaints & concerns on cosmetics of the stucco. The son told me it is not a new construction so it does not need moister barrier. The owner told me he would explain the process to me on 7/16/23. I voiced my concern, again, about the quality of the son's work & about the lack of moister barrier. Upon completion, I inspected their work. The stucco looked awful. Instead of them cleaning the window pane & making it presentable/professional the owner told me how to clean the excess stucco off. After they left, I proceeded to clean the stucco off the edges of the window pane when a piece of stucco fell off. After further inspection, I found there was no moister barrier or any type of sealant between the wood/window frames. NOTICE TO CONTRACTOR. Immediately after discovering missing barrier and sealant I contacted the company to provided them the opportunity to come fix their work. I was told the son would come on Tuesday but I did not want him to come and fix the issues, since I have voiced several concerns about his work & had concerns about him working alone due to his limited construction knowledge. I requested the owner come to fix the craftmanship & was told he would only come out if I paid an $80 trip charge; which by the way was never mentioned prior to this interaction. My home is currently being exposed to the elements and the extreme heat is pouring into the house. The owner states he's been doing window framing/insulation for 20 years but that doesn't mean it's been quality or correct.

So we hired Hunters Home Builders to do a few small projects around the house. Darrel came out to…read morelook at the items. The things we wanted fix were to re hang a few doors, tighten up a few faucet handles, install a Wine Fridge to our island and a pull out garbage tray in same island. We also had a landing that had a riser added to it causing one step to be two inches. We asked can you take this out and retile the Floor. Darrel stated these were all easy things to do and he and his son could take care of it. Although while discussing the work he started to tell us how un reliable his son was and that should have been the first red flag. So they were supposed to show up on a Wednesday but about 20min before they were to arrive my wife got a text saying that he had to help his son get ready for his Final test for HVAC certification and that they would be out the following day. Second Red Flag! So Darrel, his son and nephew arrived the next day and proceeded to get items, they seemed to bounce around on different projects, the demo on the stairs did get done first then it was off to other projects. They did not finish the first day and after they left, we noticed that there was a mess left everywhere they had worked, it was like they didnt care they left a mess. I was always taught, when working at a customers property, leave it better then you found it, apparently these guys never learned that. Friday came with them back on time bouncing in-between projects. Darrel worked on the install for the wine fridge and pull out while his son Brandon worked on the landing. At one point Brandon had to go to Home Depot for something and was gone for well over two hours to which we heard Darrel complaining about it. It looked as if nothing had been done to the landing. I noticed that the landing between the stairs seemed to flex in the middle of it and we made mention to Darrel about it. I was worried that with the flex that the tiles would pop or break. Darrel said it will be fine, he is a big guy and you wont have any issues. His son finely returned and started cutting and laying the tiles. He got everything laid down with a this set and then told us not to walk on it for at least a day. We said are you kidding? All the bedrooms are upstairs, he then said well you can walk on it. Once again I voiced my concern about the give in the floor and was told once the thin set is dried, it will be solid. Also once again they left a mess in the house. Saturday came and Darrel said they were almost finished, just had to do the grout work and finish the slide out for the trash can. Well it took all morning for them to complete the grout and when they were done around 1:30 they were ready to get paid and leave. We paid them and they almost ran out the door. What we then found was trash left behind from the flooring and just a general mess where they were. Now we also had another contractor here doing a build out on a wall, those guys were a night and day difference as they had paper rolled out for the floor and plastic up to cut down on the mess and cleaned up nightly. Well Sunday afternoon as I went waking up the stairs, as soon as I stepped on the landing, I heard a loud Pop sound and froze, knowing I poped a tile. I looked around and nothing else happened until later Sunday night as I was going up to bed, I stepped in another place other then where I stepped earlier, and heard another loud Pop on a different tile! And now the landing feels mushy and I can tell that three tiles are giving way, caused by the floor flexing under weight. I totally regret hiring these guys, while Darrel was nice, his craftsman work and sub standard work has made me second guess my decision and we will not be going back to them to fix our issues, which they should which they should be doing. Edit, so in the light of day, the tiles did not pop, they actually cracked, and the poor quality of work is making me ill looking at it. Update, now 6 tiles have cracked and we found a leak on one of the facets in the bathroom they "fixed"
