One thing you can say about living in Arizona is you are constantly reminded of the sun. My wife and I moved to north Buckeye a couple of years ago and as you can see from the attached pictures; our home is exposed to the South. While this provides us with spectacular views, it made it virtually impossible to enjoy our backyard for the hottest months of the year. We knew we needed to find a durable shade solution and our search culminated in a phone call to Patio Partners, in Surprise. We scheduled a consultation with Jim Doyle, who came out and helped us imagine what type of structure would work best for our home. We received a fair proposal, which was less than other companies who never bothered to drive out to Sun City Festival. Rather, they quoted off the size I said I wanted and a copy of our plot plan. We entered into an agreement with Patio Partners, and they began the permitting process with the city of Buckeye. Another thing you can say about living in Arizona is the wind is one of your constant companions. To ensure that any structure doesn't get blown away, code requires you to dig massive footings for each post that will support the structure. Our patio cover is fifty-five feet wide and extends from our house from eleven feet to twenty-one feet with a span of over thirty feet between the two furthest posts. The crew from Patio Partners had to dig six of these footings around our existing hardscape. They managed to do this without harming any of our plants or the Travertine border around our yard because they dug these footings by hand. The pergola went up in a couple of days after the footings were poured and it looks spectacular. The quality of the materials and craftsmanship are five-star (like this review) because they have great people who take pride in what they do. My Son is a passive young man so I write this review on his behalf. He called PP for an estimate. He explained that he wanted "an extension of his house" Pointing out the neighbor's to the south. A wooden structure. They gave him an estimate that accounted for materials, but not what the materials were. He financed the $8k and they came to install while he was at work. When he got home he found half the work done on a metal structure. He was distraught. He called and left a message as well as emailed. No one called him back, or replied. They came the following day and completed the install. The actual patio looks ok, but that is not what he wanted. I cannot say they did "bad work", but in my book, a company that gets a signature for an $8,000 home improvement should have the courtesy to call the customer back. No one we know will ever use, or recommend this company for that reason. read more

I have no idea if their product is good but I do know I have been waiting since October 2020 for them to install my patio! I was told initially that the orders were taking a little longer than normal because of Covid and that the jobs were out about 10 weeks. On 2 occasions I was assured the job would be done by Christmas... I guess I should of asked what year because it is now March 2021 and even though I have paid 1/2, I have received nothing other than reasons why things are delayed or (even more frustrating) platitudes such as we should have your order next month, next week or in the next day or two. Yet, here I am still waiting! I left a message on their recorder today asking for a return call with real information for when my job will be completed... I will update this rating when (or if) they get back to me. If you are thinking about having work done by this company and want the job done in a reasonable amount of time. I highly recommend Patio Partners, everyone that I worked with were very friendly and helpful. I have gotten a lot of compliments on them and have recommended them to people in my neighborhood. We had our cover installed in June. The cover does a great job with the shade and it looks very nice. However the issues we had were communication (I rarely received a call back and had to call them) and with the recent rains it leaked in several spots. Also I can never get the windows above cleaned or repaired. One of our screens blew off in the storms and the screen company can not replace it because you can not walk on the cover, there is no way for them to reinstall the screen. I would not recommend this type of cover for a two story home. I wish this would have been pointed out during the estimate. My window screen rep called and was told by Jaime that "they do not come out and do anything and he would not recommend putting boards across the roof because we do not have their experience or expertise. I asked him how we are supposed to correct this problem and he said the roof isn't made to be ". So in short, I would not recommend for a two story home. I'm really disappointed that I was not aware of this. Not sure how we will be able to paint and wash windows either. Not a sturdy product to be able to access and maintain that portion of home. read more

This review is long over due, but I have been recommending these guys since about March 2020. Our backyard is visible from the hiking trail that runs behind our house. We've had so many people stop and complement the pergola installed by Patio Partners and ask for contact information. Including a recent landscaper who came to plant a tree in our yard. Ken was great in helping us decide on what to install, and Brandon the installer was a great guy to have hanging around the backyard for the time it took to install. We requested and received a bid for a large pergola. Clark (the rep) gave us a bid that we were fairly sure was incorrect (too low). We had to reduce the square footage of the plan (due to set back regulations) so we requested a new bid based on the smaller square footage (had to call twice to get a response). Clark acknowledged that he had made an error on the first bid (too low) and the new bid was more than the original. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, we missed the signing deadline (on the higher bid), and requested that they resend the updated bid. We have requested it 3 times and have not heard back from anyone in the company. Very frustrated with the lack response. This company has had constant delays and excuses for non delivery and endless delays of installation since the initial activation of ordering materials for completion of the Pergola at our home. It took almost 3 weeks before they submitted a request for a city permit. In the meantime they requested half of the full amount of pergola For ordering supplies. Supplies were not ordered until we were four weeks into this order, after the down payment. After they ordered the materials they say 5 weeks before materials come in. Then another phone call tells us it will be another week delay before materials arrive! That's 6 weeks! How long then will it be before they schedule installation??!! Clark was very knowledgeable and helpful and gave me an estimate right then, which there price was very good. I can not recommend this company. It is very apparent that they continue to take sales knowing that they will be unable to get the materials in a timely fashion. They use the pandemic as an excuse and have sent emails stating they are doing everything they can to get the jobs completed. Their contract is loaded with what ifs in their favor so I would seriously consider the fact that you will wait forever to get your project done before signing and giving them 50% down of final cost. I had tried to cancel but when I did, I was only then given the amounts of cost they incurred and with the cancellation fee that would equate to almost half of my down payment. I cant afford to give away that much to a company that really didn't do much to earn such a free paycheck. You have to question their guarantee seeing they have so much trouble getting supplies now, if you needed something replaced it could only take a very long time to get. So I would seriously look to someone else to do your projects instead of Patio partners. Or at the very least, when sitting down with the salesman, dictate your own terms as to what you will put down and how to pay the balance. It is a trying time for all and with the state on the verge of shutting down with the rising numbers of covid, I have no doubt the wait times will be longer and you shouldn't have to lose a ton of money to cancel a job that already knew it couldn't complete in a timely fashion. read more

I received an on-site visit for a pergola proposal from a sales rep. After receiving the written proposal I tried to book the install with 50% down and the sales person said he made a mistake and the proposal would be "a lot" higher. It seemed shady, unethical and untrustworthy at that point. I would recommend if you consider this business make sure the price doesn't change after the written proposal. read more

Unfortunately the new owners who took over in 2018 do not have the same standards for customer service as the original owners who were in business for 25 years. 5-years ago I had a Pergola installed with Phoenix Patios and had a wonderful experience. Over a month ago I had 3 new Pergolas and apparently since I worked with a contractor even though I paid for the service, 100% customer satisfaction does NOT apply. I sent the owners, Gary & Michelle an email on 8/27/18 explaining the circumstances of my new Pergola install. I absolutely hate the location of where the Pergolas were placed and was quoted an additional $1800 to have them re-placed/fixed. My email was read two weeks ago and I have yet to have the courtesy of any kind of response from Gary or Michelle.
