Quick phone repair for a cracked screen, was done within 15 minutes when there was no wait. BUT within 3 days, my phone was resetting every 2 minutes and dying super quickly, so it seems that their quickness means that they don't do a great job reconnecting all of the wires when closing up the phone. I brought my phone into the Apple store and they told me that the person who changed my screen had likely messed up the battery connection after the screen change. If I could give no stars I would. I came here the other day to get my speakers fixed and they gave me back my phone without my case. I left the location and my phone dropped literally right outside their store and cracked in the back. I went back in and told them why didn't they give me my case with the phone and showed them the new crack on my phone. He didn't seem sympathetic at all and when I asked if I could get some sort of like $10 or $20 discount because they are the ones who didn't give me back my case they said no. Customer service is terrible here. If I brought my phone with a case I should be leaving with the original way I brought the phone. read more

BEWARE THESE ARE THE SAME PEOPLE FROM THE CLARK STREET LOCATION- THIS IS WHAT THEY DID TO ME: I went into their store for the first time to re-up my phone plan because I couldn't do it online due to a bank card error. So I looked up a local place where I could pay cash. That should be simple enough, but no. I pay the reactivation fee, thank the clerk and drive away. Then it's almost an hour later and I have no phone service still. I start thinking to myself- good thing I tossed the receipt in the cup holder! I DRIVE BACK TO THE STORE AND ITS LOCKED. I knock on the door for a few minutes and get no response, so I ask the neighboring convenient store owner if he knows their phone number, maybe someone is there in the back!? After more time I decided to call the non-emergency police and tell them that I paid for my phone to be turned on almost an hour ago and I still have no service. They tell me it's a civil matter and they can't do anything. Now I feel like I've been robbed. At this point, I frustratingly knock on the door and the side window. Then, as if woken from sleep or perhaps on drugs- the same clerk arrives from the back startled and glassy eyed. He opens the door and I ask him why I still have no phone service? He tells me that I'm crazy and that I was trying to break his windows and an argument ensues. I call the police again and report that I am now in the store and he claims to have activated the service I paid for, yet my phone still doesn't work. ****ACTIVATION IS SAID TO TAKE 5 TO 10 MINUTES, BUT IN THE PAST AT OTHER RETAILERS IT HAPPENS ALMOST INSTANTLY**** As he is arguing, harassing me and asking me to leave his store, he's on the computer. Then, miraculously my phone happens to ring!!! HE ACTIVATED MY PHONE RIGHT THEN WHEN I RETURNED TO THE STORE WITH A RECEIPT AND CALLED THE POLICE. A week later I cracked my screen and my phone completely stopped working I went back hoping to get a good price since it was my second time there. They tried to charge me he same price but I left. It's unfortunate that I need to write a review for Dr. Cell in the first place, but I'm very fortunate to have found him in my time of need! After a nasty spill on the sidewalk smashed up both my arm and my iPhone 5 screen, I found Dr. Cell via Craigslist to repair one of those for just $50 (I'll let you guess which one). His shop is midway between my suburban office and Wicker Park home, so it was an easy stop to make (and proximity to Hema's Kitchen was an added bonus!). The repair was super fast (about 15 mins, and that included a little time where he needed to talk to other customers who were there at the same time), and the fee included tax (though important note: cash only). For obvious reasons I hope not to be back, but if I should find myself in the same predicament again, I'll definitely head back to Dr. Cell! read more

A week ago I dropped my iPhone 5 on the floor and as a result the screen was fractured pretty bad. This store was recommended to me by a friend, so I decided to check it out. I was extremely satisfied with my service. They catered to me as soon as I got there and were very kind. They respected my privacy and turned off my phone, and took care of it immediately. Not only did I get it for dirt cheap compared to the last place I went to a year ago, but it literally took him about 5 minutes to fix it. The other store made me wait for a few hours. The store is clean and they have chairs for customers to sit comfortably while waiting. The owners were also very hospitable & my phone looks as good as new when I got it back. Definitely will recommend this store for any type of cell phone repair, accessories, or other service needed. read more

the absolute worst. they are never open. they don't bother to call you back to give you updates on your repair. the kicker? i had them "fix" my phone after the screen shattered. when i took it into them, bluetooth worked flawlessly. when it came back, it no longer worked. a week later, the camera stopped working. a month later, the body started coming apart. one week after that, the phone is completely dead. these guys have no clue what they are doing, they are scam artists. do not trust them. read more

I will never spend a dime of my money in this establishment again. Omar, is dishonest and only cares about making money, not providing services that customers pay for. I took my LG G2 with a black screen to Dr Cell to be repaired on Wednesday, September 17, 2017. Omar told me and my boyfriend that he would contact him the following day at 10am and would call with the diagnosis. He did tell us that it would be a $25 service fee and if we chose to continue, he would charge us for additional work that needed to be done. We agreed and left with a receipt. My boyfriend called me the following day (September 18th) and said that I needed a new charging port and it would cost $50, which would bring my total to $75. I was told that the phone would be ready by 11:45am. I stopped by a little after 12pm and Omar gave me the phone and told me the total cost. Before giving him my debit card. I asked how much longer would I be able to use the phone now that it's fixed. He said he didn't know and that I had a 20 day warranty and if the phone still didn't work he would give me a full refund. I gave him my debit card, made the payment and left. I called my boyfriend from my phone and within 5 minutes the phone turned off. I pressed the power button and it eventually came back on. As soon as I parked in front of my place, the phone completely shut off and I wasn't able to turn it back on. I took the phone back to Dr Cell and Omar said he would have one of his team member look at it and he would give me a call back in 1 hour. I gave him my mother's phone number since I didn't have a working phone. After almost 2 hours I decided to give Dr Cell a call to see what was going on with my phone. No one answered and I wasn't able to leave a voicemail, so I went back with my mother to see what was going on. Omar told me that the phone was turning on but would immediately turn off again. He stated that it might be the battery and that it would take another day or so to fix the issue. He also mentioned that I can go ahead and get my money back as well, if I didn't want to have anymore work done. I told him, I wanted the refund back. He then said there will be a $35 service charge fee. I told him, you never mentioned that before. Why are you mentioning that now. He said well we were working on your phone all night and we need to charge you for the labor. I explained to him that nothing was fixed, I still don't have a working phone, I just gave you $75, and I have driven to your establishment 3 times, looking for parking and wasting gas. He proceeded to say that they have a business and I should understand that worked on the phone and should be paid for it. I said no, I want my full refund like you promised. He said well since you feel that way, I'm gonna keep your phone and work on getting a new battery. I told, him no I want my phone and the refund and he said no that's not going to happen. I immediately left with my mother and call the police. The police arrived onsite within a few minutes and I explained what happened. The police spoke with Omar and and of course he gave a different story saying that I tried to rush him to repair my phone. The police thought it would be best for me to just accept the $50 refund and he charge me the $25 service fee. At the end of the day it's not a lot of money, but it's the principal. The fact that Omar wasn't upfront or honest about the service fee not being refundable. If he would have said that from the beginning I wouldn't even be writing this review. But, the fact that he tried to charge me $35 fee when it was only $25, threaten to keep my phone, wasting gas driving back and forth, still not having a working phone just shows that he is a liar and he doesn't know how to run a reputable business. I will be sure to spend my money elsewhere, preferably at a place that actually provides proper service to it's customers. read more

I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S6 Active for the 8000th time and the LCD screen finally broke. I called around to a bunch of different places and because this model is allegedly indestructible, no one had the parts in stock. Dr Cell said it would be 4-5 business days but offered a loaner smart phone while I waited (no other place did this). He indicated he'd try and expedite the part too. My husband dropped it off on Fri night and on Monday afternoon, Dr. Cell called to say it was ready. Oh, did I mention that it was cheaper than all other places?
