My Mac's screen sizzled and then went dead after some water damage. I took the Mac to Apple and off course those self serving geniuses immediately told me my Mac is history and I would need to rebuild the entire circuit board for 900.00 or get a new computer. I was bummed and did nothing for month until I realized there is life outside apple care. So I called a few places on yelp and didn't get some good vibes. Most of them wanted to charge me non refundable fees to see if they can fix it and some over the phone also said i needed a new circuit board. So my intuition told me to call Machero and they told me to bring it in for free estimate, no obligation. I figured worse case they would tell me what the others did about a circuit board. An hour after I brought it in, Gino tells me the only thing that was damaged was some memory chips and he can repair everything for under $100.00 total. Now, let me reiterate. I know as much about Macs as I do about astrophysics so he could have told me the bogus b.s. the other places told me and taken me to the cleaners Instead, his focus was on me as a person, not me as a number, or a receipt. Maybe if more businesses and their owners were as decent and ethical as he was, they'd be in business and not part of our financial fiasco. So let me save you time and money and headaches. Be like NIKE: Don't think, just do it, and if you have a Mac issue, bring it in for some real people skills in fixing your mechanical ones.

Gino and I got in touch because of an event I was running for FreshBooks. I needed a space and wanted to spend as little money as possible. I reached out to some of our customers in Chicago and Gino was SO awesome to get back to me super quickly and offer up his space to host our workshop. He worked with me to secure catering, audio-visuals and anything else I needed. Srsly -- ANYTHING! I needed a bunch of chairs and rental places weren't down with renting only 50. He got in touch with a nearby church and helped us arrange a donation to its after school program. AND helped me carry and drive over the chairs throughout one of the city's first snowfalls of the year. Incredible. Gino was the best host ever and I'm basically spoiled for out-of-town events for the rest of my life. Best dude. Best.

I used Asaya/Skokie for a laptop conversion, switching out the Microsoft OS on my new laptop for…read moreLinux - Open Suse OS. Aziz agreed to do the work for what I felt was a reasonable fee. His fee in included providing me with a copy of the Microsoft OS and the Open Suse installation. But Aziz warned me that he would charge me if I needed MS Office restored. However when I picked up the laptop, Aziz had loaded Ubuntu instead. He explained that there were too many problems when he tried to load Open Suse on this new computer. Initially I agreed to the substitution until I discovered that Ubuntu is more unstable version of Linux than Open Suse. In addition it's not user friendly at all. I had so many issues that I went weeks without a working laptop. When I called him for assistance, Aziz said he had to research the issue online - then he would call me back. One and a half weeks later he called asking whether I still had the same issue. When I said yes, he said he would research it. ( I thought he was already researching the issue.) In the end I requested the ISO copy of my original Microsoft OS so I could restore it to the original version. But he said he was unable to make an ISO copy due to the laptops compartmentalization (?). Instead he offered to restore the Microsoft OS for no charge. 1) I wish I had been informed about the Ubuntu substitution before the completion of the work. 2) Granted, Aziz did not charge me for the Microsoft OS restoration, and I acknowledge he invested a lot of time in working on my laptop, But he kept the money I paid for the Open Suse installation and never delivered on the original contracted service. 3) He does not like people to just show up at the store. He's insistent that people call before stopping by. Bottom Line- I would not recommend Aziz for any Linux related conversions or Linux related repair services. And be very aware that he has a no refund policy - even if you don't receive the service you contracted for.

This time, I had to go back because the software they installed on my computer got deleted because my hard drive got damaged (under manufacturer warranty) so when it got replaced by Best Buy they deleted everything, they would have charged me more than Office costs to recover info on computer. After 3 more weeks they called to say it would have been ready but one of their techs broke the power button while putting it back together. I dropped it off on 7/3 and now it is 8/18 and I STILL DON'T HAVE MY COMPUTER. I can order parts online and have them in 2 days but I guess they can't - for the price I'm paying to have it repaired thee could have sprung for overnight shipping. Poor customer service and obviously poor technicians too.

My computer issue was more in-depth than originally anticipated and what set Monolith apart was the consistent contact updating me on computer. I didn't have to sit and wonder what was happening. They were very responsive and communicative. I also appreciate the time Monolith took to explain what was happening with my computer (granted most of it was over my head) but Bill did try to break it down to my level of understanding. A few days ago I was traveling, and I managed to do something extremely stupid - I spilled soda on…read moremy work laptop during a layover. My keyboard instantly stopped working, so I started to freak out. Lucky for me I found TekkEez, and they ended up being a huge lifesaver. Chevy reached back out to me almost immediately after I contacted TekkEez, and he was very reassuring about how quickly we could replace the keyboard and provided me with a very reasonable estimate. After chatting on the phone, he then ordered my replacement keyboard and let me know that it would arrive in a day or two and that he could install it shortly after. He even lent me a temporary keyboard so I could do work while we waited for the replacement keyboard to arrive. It gets better - Once the replacement keyboard arrived a day later, Chevy actually came to my office to install it which made things super easy for me.
