Came here to celebrate a birthday during the middle of the week. Parking was easy in a public lot across the street. Hostesses we're very nice and had us wait for the rest of our party in a cozy area with comfy chairs and beautiful Turkish decor. We started with drinks: Berry Spritz, the Apollo (served in a mini David statue), beer and the sultan (old fashioned). My husband said it's the best old fashioned he's had in a long time. The photo cocktail book (yes I said book) is beautiful and includes all their custom cocktails. The food is family/tapas style and each item comes from either the cold or hot kitchens. Food comes out super quickly so I'd stagger your orders (our waiter's recommendation). For four of us we ordered: Muhammara - roasted red pepper spread Greens & Fig salad Kofte Fries Zucchini and spinach pancake Baby wings Roasted cauliflower Sucuck Everything was delicious! So many layers of flavor in every dish. There are so many items on the menu we wanted to try but those will have to wait for the next visit. Doya is an upscale restaurant that serves Greek dishes. Located in Wynwood, this place is a great spot to have dinner and drinks. A look inside, you see a beautiful interior with modern decor. A mix of elevated yet chill atmosphere. They have a central bar and serve craft cocktails. For drinks, I ordered the Bursa. From presentation to taste, I was impressed. Pleasantly sweet, the cocktail had a nice blend of Herradura tequila, Vida mezcal, ginger, turmeric, lime juice, tajin, chili and fire water, topped with a garnish. Sweet. Spicy. Sippable. Well done. For food, I ordered the Kofte, which comes as a plate of Turkish meatballs served with a bed of coconut rice and yogurt sauce. My server brought me a bottle of the house hot sauce. Pro tip: Drizzle the hot sauce on the meat, then layer it with the yogurt sauce. The sh!t is good. You're welcome. The coconut rice was a nice complement to the meal. My server also brought complimentary bread with olives for snacks while I waited for my food. To finish things off, I ordered the Pistachio Baklava for dessert. It was sweet and tasty. honestly, after the 40 minute drive south to get to this place, I really wanted to like it. First impressions are really amazing, the space is nicely done, lots of greenery, even though the tables are kind of close, because of all the greenery, it seems like you have your own private space. I suppose one of the best things was the minute you ordered a drink, it was within about three minutes at your table already! Even with that, the drinks are the best thing about this place. All the drinks were very tasty, well presented and cold. some are very small tho, the one in the Roman statue head we had to hunt for the liquid! The most disappointing thing about this place however, with the food. The portions are small and just ok. We had the sausages which were WAY over salty. I always finish everything, but debated leaving these. We had the lamb chops which were over cooked. We asked how they were prepared, we were told medium, we asked for them medium rare but still they came out well. Did not want to ask for them to be sent back as these took the longest to come out and by then we were starting to fill up. The rice that it was served on however was delicious. Muscles were in a great sauce tho! We had a bunch of the appetizers, really none of them stand out. All in all, this was an ok spot. Definitely not worth what we paid, I doubt we will be back unless we went to the bar and just had some drinks. Three stars for the speed of drinks, atmosphere, muscles and the rice from the lamb. Although I wouldn't consider this authentic Turkish cuisine there are a few dishes here that are pretty good but I think the vibes are what makes brings this place charm. Restaurant itself is pretty spacious with both indoor and outdoor tables, has a cool vibe to it with a lot of greenery outside. Turkish national dishes like manti didn't taste authentic and was very doughy and raw. The sauce wasn't it either. The ground beef kebab wasn't great in flavor either tasted very meaty and not in a good way. What we did enjoy was the house salad which was very similar to a Greek salad more than a Turkish salad. Very fresh and crunchy, sauce was delicious! Their fries with white sauce was to die for! Baby chicken wings are so tiny and flavorful. The Turkish cheese pide with truffle is pretty good too. Their home made bread is absolutely delicious. But this is about it, we tried a good amount of dishes and non of them felt authentic to Turkish cuisine, however the items mentioned above were really good. Had extremely high hopes for this place but ended up pretty disappointed. To start, the service was incredibly poor. Our waiter was dry and being especially rude to my boyfriend for some reason. He was too busy focusing on other tables that when he gave water to my boyfriend he poured it all over his menu and the table. I don't know if he didn't notice or just chose to ignore it. When taking our order he didn't say a word to either of us which we thought was odd. And lastly he asked me and my boyfriend if we wanted our food packed, we both said yes and he continued to take my boyfriends steak (which had a good amount left) and put other dirty dishes on top of it. We also ordered a dip which we barely touched that he proceeded to discard. When we looked in our to go bag only my lamb was packed. The steak was almost $40 and barely touched. The food itself was also extremely underwhelming. We ordered the skirt steak and lamb chops. Both only came with one side , the steak with fries and the lamb with rice, and had no seasoning at all. (Wish there was a .5 option) I love Doya, I really come here weekly. Lately, however, they've instituted a policy where whenever you order a coke, doesn't matter if it's diet or regular, they bring it served. It comes to the table flat and with lots of ice. Their policy was recently adopted to "avoid there being any cans" on the table. So basically, whenever you order a coke, they pour it from a can that could have been open for hours, they pour a quarter of it over a glass of ice, and charge you $6 for it. This is honestly very strange for a restaurant of this caliber. We complained about it and were informed that this is simply the policy, and it is what it is. Yes, it is what it is. But, it definitely knocks it down a few pegs. Imagine ordering a Diet Coke and getting a watery, flat one for $6 poured from a can that could've been open for the past hour? Doesn't seem refreshing, right? Anyway, I still love the restaurant and will continue to frequent. As silly as it sounds, I do think this policy knocks it down a few pegs. Went here for my Birthday with a group of 8 friends. It was hard to get a reservation for 8 because no one ever answers the phone and it doesn't allow you to make a reservation for more than 6 on the phone. So we made a reservation for 6 and a reservation for 2 and sent an email 2wks before and sent them an email. They responded they say of and were able to accommodate my party. The plating isn't anything fancy, but the food was very good. I like that they bring the food out as it is ready and that it is family style. Great authentic Turkish food. Some of my favorite dishes were the Pide w/ Truffle, Seafood Stew, Lahmacun, French fries, Manti, and Grilled octopus. The baby wings were good but they are baby wings(small). Decided to try this restaurant and it was really good. The restaurant is located in the heart of Wynwood, so you will have to park on the street. Parking it's $2.75 per hour. The service was fair but not rushed and the ambiance was really nice. We tried the Miami Spice menu and it was delicious, for drinks, our waiter recommend the Mykonos, Gimlet and magic tonic, all really good. I came to Doya for the first time when they had just opened for a Yelp Elite event & absolutely LOVED it! Since then, I have been back multiple times with my boyfriend (whose Middle Eastern) & many, many friends. Always delicious, always wonderful service & always a great time. The food was good and service was fast (perhaps a bit too fast) why do I say this? the server kept doing rounds around the table to get everything away the moment you were done - I was still eating my food when she took my plate away. She also checked on my beer like 5 times to see if it was empty or not to take the bottle, it was quite funny actually, seeing that too fast service is a thing. Food was good, i had the Adana kebab and was quite tasty. just recommend getting a sauce on the side with it as it comes by itself. I enjoyed DOYA very much. It deserves its Michelin bib gourmand rating. Everything about it was a treat. I love Turkish and Mediterranean food and this place nailed it. The lamb chops and octopus were stellar. The baba ganoush was extremely memorable. The fig and greens salad had one of the best dressings I've tasted in years. Compliments to the kitchen. My one piece of feedback is that it is REALLY loud. The restaurant has lots of hard surfaces so sound is out of control. I would suggest playing off the Turkish theme and adding some rugs or tapestries to absorb some of the sound. It would make a good dining environment even better. read more

Came here with a big group for a birthday for a reservation at 8pm. I have basically no photos of the food because we did not get seated until around 9pm due to the rain eliminating the outdoor seating. The staff was nice enough to give us a free glass of champagne as we waited (after countless complains from us) as well as reducing our check for us for the inconvenience. All that being said the food was so good we will be back. We tried around 10 things and everything was so delicious. I had dinner reservations for my fiancé's birthday and we were greeted with a nice glass of champagne. Upon entering the restaurant you can feel an amazing vibe, the decor is very warm and helps you feel mentally transported (and you haven't even tried the food yet). We started our meal with 2 Doya Spritz which happen to be priced at around $15 but the portion was large! Certainly unexpected, in a great way. We asked our server to help us pick a variety of dishes that best reprinted Doya. We started with GRILLED HALLOUMI CHEESE, with arugula, cherry tomatoes, fresh mint. This dish was very well executed and balanced. Then we got the DOYA KEBAP which was made with lamb, not only was the meat on this dish bland, but I was extremely overcooked and dry. After 1 bite we had to send it back unfortunately, it was inedible. Next came the whole grilled branzino. The fish was cooked to perfection. The plate literally had the fish, olive oil, and half a grilled lemon. The presentation seemed a bit simplistic, but the amazing taste took over right away. Next came the PIDE WITH TRUFFLE And kasseri cheese, which was essentially a cheese flatbread with shaved truffle on top, this was very aromatic and we enjoyed it. To wrap up the meal, we shared a PISTACHIO BAKLAVA, which was sweet like it is supposed to. Although I wanted mine to be heated up in the oven for a couple of minutes and the server refused. So bring a big group, so you can order everything on the menu. I highly recommend any of their hummus is great to start off. Kofte and the house salad are the safest dishes. Try their fish or any chicken dish. But you Cannot go wrong with a fish or the lamb. The ambiance is amazing and it just makes you feel like you're in the IT spot in wynwood. They have a nice bar. Very friendly service with great recommendations. The chocolate cake was great. Charred cabbage was a treat. Right now Miami Spice has a great $30.00 lunch if two or more decide to pick it at the table. A very good experience and certainly the flavours and quality shines through.
