He was 6mo old at the time and had been trimmed successfully, no problems by myself 3 X prior to this appointment, with scissors and electric clippers. I thought it was time for him have professional groom. He is the sweetist, trusting, a bit timid but 100% well adjusted puppy - he loves people and dogs alike. Something went very wrong- his ear was nicked in the center w the clippers and the outside of his nose to eyebrows were razored to the skin. The groomer apologized about the nick to his ear which was still bleeding when he was picked up; that took the immediate focus away from the eyes. His eyelashes were gone too, as well as his beard whiskers, which dogs use as sensors. The doggy was traumatized. He came home, curled into a ball and didn't eat a bite for 2 full days.He wasn't right for a week - it took a full 2 weeks for him to be back to his old self. Why am I writing this review now ? I have since taken him to to be groomed and he is terrified of the scissors - its taken patience and baby steps to get him to a point of letting anyone come near him for a grooming. It's been a huge and costly set back - he still cowers if anyone approaches from the from the front to give him a little pat. This may have been a one-off situation; I hope so for the sake of other pups. This experience needed to be shared. This shouldn't happen even once. They let a large (German shepherd) rescue dog in with the small dogs and puppies - when they, and the dogs owner did not know the history of the dog at all, and they owner had only owned the dog for 1 week. This dog in turn attacked our small breed dog (12 pounds) by picking him up by his back hips and shaking him back and forth. The reason we know this is what happened, is because the worker who witnessed it phoned us right away and told us. But then later when we got a letter from the owner of "a spot for spot" explaining what happened, she made up a completely different story. To add insult to injury she claimed our dog was the one at fault for being attacked. This resulted in injury and pain to our dog. He needed attention from our vet at financial cost to us. This would be less disturbing if we had not had an agreement with the shop about our dog. He is an intact show dog. We knew this could put him at rick so we told them specifically to keep him separate from other dogs as much as possible, and if he was socialized to only have him around dogs his own size. This was ignored. Also the rescue dog was supposed to be kept away from other dogs as well, and as written by the Daycare owner this dog was let loose with the other dogs. After the incident they refused top put us in contact with the owner of the offending dog. They instead, gave our information to her and gave her the option to contact us if she wished to work out the situation. Fortunately she did (after several weeks of us following up with a spot for spot). We got the money back from the trip to the vet - but now our dog is very afraid of other dogs that approach him. He used to be the friendliest dog with no fear of other dogs at all but now unfortunately this is no longer the case. Key points to take away: disregard for instructions leading to dog injury crass handling of the situation after without compassion 2 different stories from the owner, and the worker who witnessed refusal to put customer in contact with the offending dogs owner no offer of any sort of compensation from the shop Make an informed decision before you decide where to leave your loved one.

The goal in dropping my puppy off at the daycare was training + help my dog with separation anxiety. My dog has only been to the daycare , 3 Wednesdays, February 07th, 14th and 21st. On Wednesday, February 21st, As per Ez dog's owner, Farrell Augustin, the dogs were drinking water when a fight started between the dogs and one of the dogs pushed my dog with his paw in my puppy's right eye. The dog's claw went inside the right eye of my dog. Since then, My puppy went through eye surgery, he has been taking medication daily + visiting vet every time. The day that the accident happened, Ez dog owner had 10 dogs in his daycare: 2 small size dogs including my puppy, and the rest were medium and big size. The owner didn't even know which dog had attacked my puppy because he said that he turned his back to take his cellphone to capture a picture of the dog's drinking water when everything had happened. I asked the owner if another staff member was with him when the accident had happened and the owner said that the person who works with him at that moment could not handle the situation and he/she has left the daycare to get some fresh air. I never saw this Ez dog's staff at the daycare except the owner. I am addressing the following questions to Ez dog's owner: - How could he accept 10 dogs at his daycare with only one person looking after all the dogs? - How could he train my puppy watching 10 dogs playing at the same time? - How could he do the grooming at the same time of the daycare? - Why don't he separate small breeds from medium and big breeds to guarantee the safety of the dogs?My dog is a 5-month-old Shih Tzu mixed poodle. - How could he have only 1 or 2 staff looking after all the 10 dogs? - Why don't you have a camera monitoring your place? - Where was this second person looking after the dogs that I have never seen? - Why don't he separate dogs by size while offering water? - Do you have insurance if an accident happens? If yes, what your insurance says about the accident with my dog? - When accepting a dog at the daycare, at least observe the dog's behaviour 3 times before giving the dog full access to the daycare. Only 1 day to evaluate a dog for being ready for the daycare is not enough. Imagine if this would happen on the first evaluation day of the daycare? Farrell, you need to create ideas / strategies to build a safe place for the dogs.I can be responsible for my dog, however, you are responsible for building a safe place for the dogs as everyone wants to drop off and pick up their dogs healthy and happy.

Hanging out with a few awesome people and a bunch of happy dogs sure beat waiting for mom to get home from work right? After Baileybug passed away, I adopted a rescued pit bull Marley and by this time, the daycare had come under new ownership. Cam has been nothing less than awesome for this daycare. I'm happy to have seen it evolve into the wonderful place it is now. Well managed, CLEAN and the folks have a genuine relationship with each and every pup that comes through that door. I worked here for a few months semi- recently. As someone who worked there, I can confidently say…read morethat they do not take as good care of the dogs as they say. The owner is rude to her employees, and they use methods such as shaking change in metal jars directly in the dog's ears until they are scared of the workers as a way to make them stop barking. They will also yell very, very harshly at them almost constantly. The reason why I don't work there is because I refused to take part in that. They will also put up to 25 dogs of all sizes and temperaments in one van for the daily beach walk, which exceeds the legal limit and results in the dogs getting in fights with each other. Again, as someone who worked there, please do not leave your beloved animal there. Your dog will be sad all day and will not get enough attention nor be treated appropriately. At first glance, it seems like a great environment, hence why I worked there. But your dog will only be let out once, and in the group photos they send, it's likely your dog won't even be in the picture. They use very outdated training methods, and it was incredibly hard for me to work there. Leaving your dog there is the equivalent of leaving your dog at an animal shelter.

I have two dogs and recently moved to the City. I enrolled one of my dogs in her daycare because the other one was highly anxious and could come with me to work. Both of my dogs have been attending daycare for years without issue. The younger one, which I enrolled, passed the intake exam and full daycare day without issue. He can be difficult at times because he doesn't know his size and can be bossy. I signed him up for the beach walks because when I saw the facility it looked to be just a large warehouse and I knew my dog would want outside time. The dogs are mostly let off leash during these walks but I noticed that mine was only let off the first time and not again. I had warned them that his recall was not great so I figured maybe they were working on that (given your pet is supposed to receive recall and other basic training while enrolled at daycare). When I met Noelle finally (on a day when her dad was off and she was supervising pick up) she told me that she would only let him off when the tide was out because it gave him more room to run. Fair enough. However I never saw him off leash. We worked on the training videos she sent, each day, diligently. I wasn't receiving other feedback until I was told that my dog had a bad reaction to another dog but that the other dog had been asked to leave the daycare. I was pretty surprised that the other dog was asked to leave just like that but was told there had been some "other issues". The next day, my dog was the one to be kicked out for going after another dog. I was told that Noelle or Vincent would be in touch to explain further but just like that I no longer had a spot. I had been exchanging emails with Noelle up to this point because I noticed my dog exhibiting aggressive behaviour at home towards my other dog, something he had never done. She recommended I hire their behaviourist, Sandy. I spent a little over $1100 to hire her. When Noelle reached out following up on an invoice, I told her that I was disappointed to have not heard from her after we were asked to leave the daycare. That I felt that for the amount I was paying ($55/day and that was only because there was a promo rate) I expected to receive a bit more feedback, further, my dog never seemed to be allowed off leash. Well she responded quite rudely saying that my dog had repeated events of bad behaviour and that he would never change. This was news to me given I had not received any kind of feedback like this before. Also for herto tell me my dog would never change was surprising - why then had I hired her colleague, the behaviourist for $1100? All in all, after having enrolled my dogs in daycare across three provinces, I have never had such a bad experience as I had with this one. It is very overpriced for what you get. If you are bringing a dog under 1-year then it might be great, and you might receive more bang for your buck but apparently my three-year old was way past help. Luckily we've since found another daycare, where my dog comes home happy each day, the aggression has totally stopped and I receive honest and fulsome feedback. As someone that puts themselves out there as an experienced trainer, it's extremely disappointing for her to refer to any dog as "beyond help" and refer to their behaviour as "never going to change".

I took my, almost, one year old Bernedoodle puppy to Spa Dog for a grooming. My puppy had never had…read morea full groom before and I was extremely nervous. Sunny (the owner) had us come in for a free consultation where she and Kylie (our would be groomer) walked us through exactly what our options were. Even though we brush our pup every night, he had some severe mats that were very likely causing him discomfort and we were advised that the best action would be shave him completely. I was so nervous and sad, but I booked the groom. From the day of the consult to the day of the groom two weeks later I must have called or emailed a hundred times (only slightly higher than reality), but Sunny never grew impatient of me or my nervousness, in fact she was calm and patient with me throughout. On the day of the groom, I was very nervous and Sunny called me and said they would do another consult and confirm how short they needed to go and if I wasn't comfortable with it, they would waive the cancellation fee for me. Sunny also mentioned that Kylie had hurt her back and someone else would be performing our groom. When we dropped off our pup, Kylie was there. She was feeling better and she remembered that we were coming in that day and she also remembered how nervous I was, so she didn't want me to have to worry about someone new doing our groom - talk about above and beyond! Well Kylie did an amazing job, she blended our pup's groom so it looks even and so sharp. She has set us up with a plan to regrow his hair and maintain things. Spa Dog is clean, calm and serene, but the absolute most important aspect of things was how much my pup loved it there. He wasn't nervous at all, in fact he didn't want to leave when we picked him up. It is obvious that the team at Spa Dog love dogs and they truly treat each one like family. I felt so good about leaving my pup with them, because it really seems like they truly love him. Which is the best reason of all to recommend them!

My poor puppy Benji who I asked not to be shaved got destroyed at spa dog today. These are pictures…read moretaken days apart. One looks like a cute happy puppy in need of a cut, the other looks like a sick old dog. They even refunded me my money knowing they had messed up. Unfortunately money won't fix Benjis hair. Be warned spa dog will take you cute teddy bear puppy and do a quick shear of the clippers and hand you back a sad naked little do Update: Months later Benjis hair has grown back but has been destroyed. He had perfect markings with a white stripe down his face and body. This was destroyed by the shave which is why I specifically requested him not to be shaved. I'm still so upset months later and feel terrible that I ever stepped foot in here.
