An archery range
Brett C.

Atmosphere: 5 stars. The place is clean and spacious. There is a coffee place near by (code 3 coffee). They have a selection of firearms, bows, accessories, and gun safes. They have a gun range as well as an archery range. Service: 5 stars. The customer service is excellent. They informed me about what they had to offer and how it worked. I had to go through a computer screening acknowledging state laws and that I was legal to shot. They rent rifles and handguns for about $20. Sell you the bullets, I think it was also $20 for 50 rifle rounds. The specialty paper targets cost some too. They provide hearing protection if you dont have your own. Offered me a lane with a wall or an open lane. Reminded me of an airline seating selection. They also offer classes if you have no experience. Value: 5 stars. Compared to other shooting ranges I have been to this one offers a great value. The have a memship or a daily rate if you are just passing through ($40 a lane). Quality: 5 star. My experience was fun. I enjoyed shooting here and if I lived in Chico I would have become a member. The downside is that it is popular making it a little crowded on the weekends and such. I had to wait half and hour or so for a lane to free up (as a walk in).

First time at a gun range, so this rating is purely based on this individual experience and not based on comparisons to any other facility. The interior is clean, with each individual section large enough to not feel claustrophobic. Large parking lot. Options for gun shooting and archery. Very friendly staff. Kept cold for alertness, so recommend bringing extra jackets or sweaters.

I go to a lot of different gun ranges in California but this one has the best set up for shooting by far and well lit too. They also have a very nice archery range set up too and if you want a cup of Joe they have their own drive up booth too. we came here again with the family, we brought a bunch of different guns and killed a lot of card board. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the range, the guns and bullets they sell. We got right in and had one side of the range all to ourselves. We had a group so we got two lanes, one for our pistols and one for our rifles. I think we blew threw about 1000 rounds between us all. This is my go to place to shoot when in Nor cal.

Archery tag! So fun!

The vibe is that LMS Defense offers world class premier firearms training courses in CA, NV, and…read moreWA! Josh is super warm, funny, and accomplished. His background includes law enforcement, SWAT, Breacher, Avon Mil Equip, Team Wendy. The courses are comprehensive. From pistol to precision. From day to night ops. And includes land nav and comms. We attended his 1 day pistol fundamentals course and it is by far the single best investment of 8 hours spent outdoors under perfect California weather! No prerequisites...but the course delivered like no other intro course I've attended. From beginning w/ the 4 rules to shooting on the move! Whoa! In ONE day? Yes!! We started w/ drills from 5 yards, 10 yards. Developed efficient drawstrokes. Then transitions from targets left to right. Great instruction on the fundamentals of grip, stance, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger, breathing, follow through! Complete w/ frequent interjections of funny and insightful anecdotes! Baseline competence was built from the ground up. Then we hit hyperspace! We did precision pistol drills on steel moving further and further away until we were probably 40+ yds away! Students were pushing their platforms and abilities. All discovered that they exceeded their own personal expectations. Each person faced their own adversity and given the opportunity to prove themselves to themselves! And it was enthralling...dare I say breathtaking to see an IG supermodel...I mean an accomplished, proper, and gorgeous young lady ringing steel at long range. To be mesmerized by the skillset of an alpha female! Bond. Jane Bond. Woohoo! Sight picture. Perfect trigger. PING! (For many, that was like taking in a great work of cinematic art complete with an epic soundtrack!) WOWZA! She made it look elegant & effortless! OMG! And we were all in the moment. That state of mindfulness of being in the present. In pursuing something difficult, we can find meaning. Meaning is about the individual overcoming adversity real or imagined. And when we succeed at what we thought we could not do, there is a profound sense self-affirmation! That meditative state that accompanies the respiratory pause of applied marksmanship is immediately (and safely) followed by raucous cheers, high fives, and HOORAHS! Progressing to shooting on the move both aft and fro then engaging multiple targets with lateral movement was amazing to see and experience first hand! And I could almost hear Charlie Puth singin': I'm only one call away I'll be there to save the day Superman's got nothin' on me Hahaha! It was wonderful to see everyone develop safe competence with their chosen platforms. Best part was the 10 shot drill at the end to come full circle and establish a means to collect metrics that measure marskanship competence! Arrigato gazaimasu, Sensei Josh! (Keanu voiceover) "Yeah. You could say I'm back. I know Gun Fu. Whoa." https://m.youtube.com/shorts/XvDNE8bvZOw Would do this course again! And again! Woohoo!
