I see that we last visited in 2021 ... This time I visited with a different coworker but our experience was equally pleasant. We both had triple stack sandwiches - I had turkey and bacon and my coworker has the roast beef. Both sandwiches looked and tasted great. The turkey was real meat slices - not lunchmeat. I prefer my fries crisper but my coworker said he prefers his lighter and thought these were great. Service was prompt and friendly. DVR wraps their utensils in a napkin and delivers them to the tables. It irked me a little that as we were eating, someone at the counter knocked one of the bundles of silverware on the floor and then she went around the counter, picked it up, and placed it into the gray plastic tubs where all the clean ones were. Not cool. I look forward to my next visit - the food was good, it was ready quickly, the service was fast and our meals were inexpensive. Stopped in last night for dinner with my daughter. Probably has been almost 10 years from the last time we've been here. I'll start by saying our waitress couldn't be nicer. She had a smile on her face the whole time and checked in on us multiple times. Bathrooms were very clean and so was the rest of the diner. I got the Stuffed Shrimp with a Crab Cake which was more Crab imperial on top of Steamed Shrimp which was very good but not what I expected from the name of the dish. My daughter got spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread. The meatballs had no seasoning and the sauce was very bland. We both each got the chili to go with our meals which was just ok, I've had worse. The price was high for being a diner, in my opinion. Be careful pulling in and out of the parking lot. There's a one way in from the street on one side and a one way out on the other side. Plenty of parking all around the building. read more

Went for breakfast and had a horrible experience. The waitress was not the least pleasant and looked hungover. We ordered our food and she seemed annoyed that we asked what type of bread they had. One of the meals was wrong and when we tried to explain it the waitress that brought it just said she was not our waitress (of course we new that) when our waitress came she tried to make it seem like it was our fault. She took the meal back and slammed it on the counter then proceeded to point us out to her coworkers. We told her to just cancel that meal with the taught that we would share the correct meal but we didn't feel comfortable staying there and eating so we just paid the bill and walked out. read more

I was meeting my Sister for lunch on a Wednesday. The waitress approaches and is to the point, no smile, no nice greeting. Just tell me what you want to drink. We did and she came back a little later with our drinks and she was the same way taking our food order. They were pretty busy but if she's working for tips she might want to be a little more outgoing and possibly even smile. When the food was brought out it was hot and the burgers were huge and tasted good. That was the good stuff. The fries....dark, overdone and dry. They either have very old oil they're using or they were refrying old already made fries. Either way they were gross and I didn't eat them. I only gave it 2 stars because there are plenty of other restaurants in the area that you can get better service, better food for a reasonable price. I was very disappointed. The restaurant itself is dated and the patrons give it away. It's definitely an older crowd, me included. If they want a younger patron they're going to need to do some major upgrades. read more

I notice a lot of extra cleaning done because of covid-19. It seems like they were making a good effort in following guidelines. Portion size of my was a little better than i expected for the value. Good is usually pretty good, wait is never insane. It would be 5 star but the inside is kind of outdated and prices of the food is going up.

They have a good breakfast, but the hostesses and most of the waitresses are rude. When we asked for a booth (there were 3 empty ones within 15 feet), we were told we had to sit at a table. Sometimes the wait for food can be a bit long. I adore the staff. Their chicken corn soup and beef tips with noodles are my favorite, but their stir fry is delicious. Server was massively inattentive, did a pass of her other tables twice before coming to mine. Didn't bother even saying hi. They had a waitress on duty at the cash register She had taken an order over the phone and we picked up the order, It was my husband and I always said to him to check the order He did not and he used his credit card to pay for our to go order She even said to him at the cash register, are you leaving a tip!!! Absolutely awful. To start, all wait staff do not greet. They come up and say "What do you want to drink?" No hello. No my name is x and I will be taking care of you. Just "What do you want to drink?". I observed this not only from my own waitress but from two others (the only others) that were working as well. The food is incredibly INCREDIBLY bland. To put this in perspective they have a four page long menu with homemade in front of half of it. I called bs right away. I ordered chicken salad and it tasted like straight mayonnaise but with an odd consistency of chicken bits to chew on. As if the chicken was pulverized in a blender. I sent it back because quite frankly it made me feel ill. I don't typically drink mayonnaise from a jar, or off of bread as this would have it. Along with the waitress being not so welcoming she was very inattentive. After taking the sandwich back she still left it on my bill until my fiance flagged her down and asked why. She took it to her manager and they only took off half the cost because "she ate some of it". Upon cashing out I had said the food was not so good in response to the typical "how was everything" and explained once again how bland and gross the food had been. The girl at the counter (assistant manager? Owners daughter?) said "oh, our cook doesn't season things with much salt because of some of our customers allergies" and motioned to a group of older people. I had not mentioned salt. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Dover with my mother. The service is friendly and the time to deliver our food has been very quick. Their French fries are something I recommend everyone try. They're always fresh and hot. Their tea is quite exceptional and the breakfast sandwiches will leave you full. Don't touch the pseudo Tiffany over head plastic lights! We experienced two impeccably dressed 80 year old ladies being tossed out on their ear by the " owner"... actually the owners daughter. While I under stand how trying it must be to keep little old bitties happy for a late breakfast with their order after at least 50 tweaks to their omelets and request for separate checks. Have dropped in here many times over the years as a Dover resident. Never had issue with the typical but unremarkable food, but service swings back and forth. I can deal with many things in a restaurant but not being ignored. Last visit was for Sunday breakfast where as a couple we were given a menu to share, taken on a hike, seated in a remote area, then ignored for over ten minutes. Just a stop to say, 'we are busy, may I get you something to drink' is standard courtesy and we would have been patient. Two of the servers just looked at us as we departed and the greeter/cashier (owner?) who has met us several times, did the same when we placed the menu back on the stack. Clearly business is good enough that losing a diner here and there is acceptable. It is just as acceptable for us to go to any of the many other establishments in the area. I have eaten here four times. The first was my daughter's treat for Father's. Had a steak and crab cake. Second and third were with Dennis an old time pastor here in Town for friendship. Followed by a breakfast with my family, met my stockbroker going in. I have eaten in diners in Catonsville, Maryland and and Belair Maryland. Hands down this is the best, the food isn't overly salted which is good for those trying to stay away from thrombosis. The breakfast was simply wonderful as were the lunches. It is always packed with cars, the locals love it. I find it funny when people are rating restaurants to bring restrooms into the ranking. Each kitchen I am sure has a place for employees to wash their hands. All it takes is one customer to dirty a nice clean job up. Well we got there waited a while to be seated and they we're not busy . Waited about 10 minutes before waitress showed up. Place was pretty dirty. When I used the restroom I noticed it was very dirty with dried soap all over the wall. It reminded me of a bar bathroom in the hood. Absolutely disgusting . food didn't take long. I ordered French toast and home fries. French toast was very badly undercook. It was like wet squishy bread. And the home fries were undercooked and very old and oily. My waitress never came back to ask me how my food was . I didn't eat any of it. I sent it back and they took it off my bill. Undercooked food with raw eggs will make you sick. I had never been to this restaurant before, but upon a friend's request, I decided to try it out. The food was amazing, AND homemade. However, I do have one complaint. Now, having been a server in my early 20's I am understanding of the "server life," however I don't recall paying so much attention to one specific table. My server was a "southern" girl (if that's what you'd call whatever 'accent' she had) and seemed polite enough, however it seemed in-genuine and rubbed me the wrong way. That and the fact that she hardly paid any mind to me and rather focused all of her attention on an older couple she must've known. Not only this, but her hygiene was... lacking. I don't mean to be rude, but when I go out to eat I expect presentability, and this woman's teeth were filled with rot, which I did not find appealing at all.
