I went in for emergency care for a toothache in a molar when my regular dental office was often booked out and told me my insurance maxed out which I thought couldn't be correct as I didn't know dental insurance often had limits on what it will cover each year. Had to make multiple appointments and they were all close together. At Placerville Dental, the receptionist lady who handles billing told me that my insurance would fully cover it. A few months later, I received a surprise bill statement in the mail of nearly $1,000, apparently, I was lied to. I called asking why this happened. I was told it just took a while to verify with my insurance. Seems like a lame excuse. They said I had five cavities in my lower teeth. They numbed my entire lower jaw and did five fillings at once. Later, one of my premolars had a toothache. My regular dentist from Mather Field Dental recommended I get a root canal in that tooth and consult with an endodontist. The endodontist looked at my X-rays and said that the filling Placerville Dental placed in that tooth is right up against the nerve, irritating it. I got a root canal in the tooth that probably could have been avoided if the dentist at Placerville Dental did a better job. Placerville Dental did a cleaning and a non-surgical laser treatment in addition to a cleaning I got. As someone with health-related anxiety/OCD, this gave me the illusion that I was being given exceptional care. One of the times at Placerville Dental, when I expressed dental discomfort, the dentist dismissed me saying it was food on my teeth, which I did have as I didn't have time to brush my teeth properly beforehand. Yes, it's a good idea to clean your teeth right before dental appointments, but the dentist remarked that in such a way that it made me feel scolded. How rude. At one point, the dentist at Placerville Dental took X-rays and this time said the tooth with the toothache had irreversible pulpitis, but when I went to an emergency visit with my regular dentist, Dr. Tapang at Mather Field Dental, he took an X-ray and he also agreed that there was an infection in the tooth. He prescribed me a course of antibiotics and it made the toothache go away while Placerville Dental didn't do sh*t.

Been gone for a few months. $$$$ for a crown I did not need, might have had to endure a root canal I didn't need either. Best advice, get a second opinion.

He chooses different foods for snacks, makes sure we brushes correctly and asks for help flossing. He had to get his first filling and they made him feel so comfortable, he did amazing! I truly believe that having a great dentist this young can form how you view dental hygiene and dental visits for the rest of your life and I am very glad to have found Dr Ziese and her staff!

The personal touch, friendly staff and professionalism was so welcoming. Dr Ziese is great, the staff is great. Gentle and informative to every thing they do. The cost is very reasonable compared to our last dentist. Wish we would have found her sooner. They recently moved from Diamond Springs to a bigger, nicer and more modern office in Placerville but the same kind, courteous and friendly professionalism remains. I had 3 visits total for June since I had issues and had been trying to get dentures or partials for a lot of missing teeth, This office told me I was at the right place because they did everything from beginning to end pertaining to false teeth. Well visit 1 went as expected and basically was a look and see only even though I did refuse a deep cleaning due to the fact I had one recently no problems there. On visit #2 A tooth was pulled that that my insurance denied as a referred root canal. I am 69 years old and have lost a tooth or two every year since 2015 I now have only 3 upper teeth and am supposed to be getting prepared for partials or dentures.After pulling that tooth and filling a cavity...they said.Fast forward to visit 3 three days later the dentist said to fill another cavity on another tooth that X-Rays showed as having good bone only needing a cavity filled. The dentist started the process of drilling in my tooth ...and he kept drilling until without no word to me he and the assistant just abruptly left the room for at least 5 minutes, I ran my tongue along where he had been drilling and felt the biggest darn hole I ever felt in a tooth and was thinking wtf when they both returned and he said the cavity hole is too big and I am filling with temporary cement and going to request another root canal and they would be in touch. Not only was they NOT in touch with me after two weeks the temp filling came out and nerve is now exposed and highly sensitive to everything even wind on my face. So I called G Sohi dental to let them know my issues and inquired as to what their plan was.Guess what folks they pretended to not know jack chit about my tooth and or that issue since get this you all the Dr. Dentist did not document anything about this blunder, so it was like it did not happen at all. As if they don't know what Dentist and his assistant was on staff for that day, they gave me the run around for almost a week. I am retired from the medical field 40+ years and know if it was not documented it was not a mistake, and by law documentation is mandatory. My insurance company suggests that I file a complaint with them, but no I won't do that but I do plan to file a complaint with Dental Board. My insurance also suggested I ask my dentist b for antibiotics until I could be seen elsewhere... Oh did I mention the damage done can not be fixed in their we do everything here office but has to be referred to a oral surgeon! For almost a week I was communicating with them and complaining about my pain and not once did they say come in let us take a look and try and help you, that is not until I ask for that antibiotic, I'm guessing since no proof is documented correctly they just want to prod and poke and take a lookie see....no thanks. Oh and for days the dentist nor his assistant came forward to accept accountability for that day until I stated I am retired from the medical field and know the importance of documenting everything. Not at all sure where those negative reviews came from... Ours is nothing but positive... My wife and I have had nothing but positive experiences over the past several years with this dental practice... That includes each and very person we've encountered from the front desk to the X-Ray techs to the hygienist to Dr. Han himself... Whether routine clean and check or more extensive corrective dentistry, the staff and the doctor have taken the time to explain each step... They have identified options and various solutions... They have even identified procedures that can be delayed without concern even though those delays would reduce their income stream... We have noticed in the waiting room a wide range of ages being served by this dentistry... Children, young adults and "seasoned" citizens as my wife and me... All have been greeted, seated, called and seen in a timely and professional manner... In summary, I have no difficulty recommending this practice...

He was extremely impatient at addressing my questions and concerns. I was facing 3 root canals under existing front tooth crowns so I had some concerns. He cut me off at each question I asked and became increasingly angry and responded to each in an angry, raised voice. I abruptly asked him why he was being so rude and yelling at me? I told him, this is no way to speak to your patients, at which point he became even angrier. He screamed and raised his hand as if to strike me. I immediately got up to leave. He continued screaming at me as he followed me to the waiting room. 2 staff members witnessed this abuse and literally blocked him from advancing any closer to me. They looked as terrified of him as I was. This man has extreme anger issues and should in NO WAY be entrusted with patient care. My very next step is a formal complaint to the dental board, and to my attorney. Please find yourself another Dentist.

Many, myself included, couldn't recall the password for our make a smile account and it's necessary for some reason for check-in. The whole process was so anxiety inducing, especially with a scared 1.5 year old. The toys in the waiting room were broken and there were food crumbs all over the kids table. In the back rooms, there are no partitions between the children's chairs, so the other family that was back there next to us overheard and even chimed in on our conversation with the dentist which has to be a HIPAA violation. The staff was friendly and I feel like they did a decent job with the dental care itself. Overall, there are ways to make small improvements that would make such a big difference for the kids and parents to have a much better experience. For example - I walked into Cold Springs Dental, which is where we're taking my child now, and there was a lady at the front desk who said "Are you (name)? I'll get you checked in!"
