Quick and very less time of time especially if you are getting it done during lunch time or have limited time on hand. Reasonable rates also with good customer service. Thanks read more

I went to the DMV this afternoon to renew my tags. I found out I needed a smog check before they would hand over the sticker. I whipped out my trusty smart phone, loaded up yelp, and searched for the closest smog center near the Pleasanton DMV. That's how I found Discount Smog Check. I instantly noticed the $39.95 yelp special, then browsed the reviews to make sure that it was some bait and switch sales tactic. It took me 5 mins to drive there from the Pleasanton DMV and only waited 15 mins for the tech to complete the smog. $39.95 and in less than a half hour later, I was back at the DMV to redeem my 2011 sticker. If any Yelpers out there find themselves in a similar situation, don't worry you have time to get smogged without having to take another day off work. Just head down Hopyard through the Dublin Blvd intersection and look for Discount Smog Check on your right hand side of the street. read more

I've heard great things about these guys and I saw that they had pretty good Yelpage so I checked them out for you guessed it...a smog check. The advertised price in the Google search results was $25.95 but when you walk into their shop it was a different price. It seemed a little deceptive but the Yelp check in offer brought the price closer to the advertised rate on Google. At any rate, the guys were friendly and finished quickly. The proprietor even spent time helping me understand what the different scores meant on the smog test results. I'd use these guys again and recommend them to others. read more

Fast friendly service !!! mention if you have a yelp account If you need a smog check, this is the place to go! My husband and I have been here before and they are great people with excellent service. Joe had me in and out with a completed smog check in less than 20 min! I will be recommending this place !!! I'm writing a 5 star review for a mechanics shop. Just keep telling yourself that. You'll get through it. Went for, yes a smog. Was in and out with a pass in under 10 minutes. The lobby is clean and downright cozy. The staff, the 2 I interacted with, were warm and friendly. The service was top notch. I almost want to have to get another smog check just so I can go back. THAT. IS. CRAZY! read more

Went in for a smog. I researched other places in the tri-valley area. This seemed to be the best option. Pleasanton Smog would have been my next option. Anyhow, I went in. I mentioned Yelp when she asked how I found their business. She gave me the Yelp Price. I filled out the paperwork, handing my keys & form to the tech so that he could get started; waited for what felt like an additional 5 minutes or so after filling out my form; then was told my car was ready. WOW, that was fast! Yes...I would recommend this place to others. read more

I had a very positive Experience here. The one or two reviews that were negative put me off a little but I decided to give them a try anyways. They had a great price for a smog check. I called and talked to Joe to set up an appointment, he was very friendly and gave me clear directions on how to get there since there are like 3 smog check stations very close to each other. Upon entering Joe was very friendly and I was out of there in 10 minutes. Would definitely come back here. Great service. read more

I went to Discount Smog shop to do the SMOG test only, the test is fail in the first time, the technician told me to come back later to do the test for free... I did it today and it passed. Professional and they know what they are doing, no appointment required, quick and very polite employees. I will be their customer from now on. read more

Service was fast and professional. No wait on a weekday! Can't beat 40 dollar smog check! read more

Thank you YELP reviewers for guiding me to this business. My 05 Honda needed it's first smog check and I had no idea where to turn. Being very sure it would pass I was looking for a test only station. In - out - and on the road in under 10 minutes! Friendly service and a discount made this a stress-free experience. read more

I would actually give them a 4.5 rating solely because of one worker named Steve Pros: Fast, friendly staff, accepts walkins,Pretty cheap, Accommodating, good customer service Cons: easy to accidentally pass up when looking for building, some workers need a little more training My experience: I went into discount smog check in December with my registration already paid and all I had left was the smog check. At the time of payment of my smog I asked the worker if I had to do anything else and specifically asked if I had to go into dmv again. She informed me that I was done and they would send everything and all I had to do was wait for my stickers. Fast forward to today March 28, I still haven't received my stickers so I go into AAA (because I found out they do DMV services if your a member) and AAA tells me that my smogis Invalid because it's past 90 days and that I was supposed to go back into DMV to complete my registration after the smog was checked. So I call Discount Smog Check and luckily I talked to a very nice gentleman named Steve. He said since the worker gave me some misinformation that he would take care of me and do my smog again. Thanh you Steve! Because of you I will be coming back for my next registration. read more

Very quick(20 mins).$39.95 out the door! Helped me by telling me to go to AAA for new 2012 sticker. Didn't have to go to the DMV and wait in line! Great place, great service, I will be back in 2 years! read more

This place is a little hard to find. It's at the end of a auto repair row and the driveway and parking are small. I got there about 1 pm and there were 3 cars ahead of me. I asked how long was the wait and the test guy said 30 min. I filled out the paperwork and used the yelp check in special for $39.95 all inclusive. It took about 10 min per car. The guys were very efficient, no small talk, do the test, pay up and DONE. Perfect, just the kind of smog place every one is looking for. Highly recommend! no up charges no extras. Use the Yelp special and it will save you some $$. read more

I usually never write any reviews, but this place takes the cake. Unfortunately I can't give it zero star. Do not take your car to Dougherty Road Smog place because unless your car is in perfect condition without any issues. They will fail you and charge you if anything is not perfect and all they would say you have to get it figured out. They failed my car because they stated that it was missing emission label and missing a ERG. First of all the car doesn't come with a ERG and second emission label cannot be replaced per Ford dealership because if it's 13 years and older. You would think that a smog place would already know that before starting the smog and failing it, then charge you $79 with the $30 coupon. That's $109 for a smog, very expensive compared to most smog places in the area. Do your research before going there. The only reason why we went to this place was that my smog shop was closed on vacation and we just sold the car and needed smog. All they care is about making money and having you do the work to verify something that the car doesn't even come with. They caused a huge headache because we went to this shop. I guess if your car is pretty new and will pass without any issues, I guess you can take a chance. But if you have any issues, their customer service doesn't exist and they will charge you. They are very rube and will not help you. Business place like this should not exist. At least have some knowledge before sending your customers away to find out everything they tell why the car failed was not correct. My mistake for sending my son here to get the car smog. But if I can save someone else with what I had to deal with, it will be worth it. Like I said, at least do your research before going to this pace. read more

This smog check center is tucked away behind "Quality Tune Up" on Dougherty Road. Its the last "engine bay" in the building and is painted in Red. This was a fast and painless experience for me. There was one person that was ahead of me and he literally got to my vehicle in about 5 minutes. The gentle man who did my smog check was very polite, friendly and personable. I found this location because I got a coupon in the mail advertising SMOG Checks $24.95! (+$8.25 certificate and $2.00 Electronic Notification) and got out of there for $$35 and some change. I highly recommend coming here for your smog checks as its fast, convenient, and service was good. read more

No contest. Discount Smog Check center is THE place to get the smog check done on your car. The guys are professional, quick, and their service is very well priced. Additionally, they are right across the street from a deli, so even if you have to wait a few minutes (which I did not, but I had planned for waiting), you can just walk across the street to get a bite then come back and pick up your car Don't bother looking elsewhere. This is where to go. ****** 3/15/2013 Addendum: Went back to these guys to smog another one of our cars. Once again they were very quick. I was out of there in less than 25 minutes - no fuss, no muss read more

I found this station online and decided to give it a shot since it was near my home and in the area where I was running errands. I'm glad I did! The service was quick, efficient and most importantly the techs were very friendly and attentive. I will have my vehicles smogged here again. read more

Quick, professional service. Got me in and out within 20 minutes even though there were two cars ahead of me. About the Xmas tree in the office, my dog sends his apologies, fellas. read more

Alex (who works only 1 day per week (Thursdays) ) is very rude man who even can't explain about rules with a coupon, he started to be nervous because he is not able to communicate in the right way! When I was in the office, sitting and waiting paperwork he told me that I should to go out from the office because my mask slipped off my nose. I'm shocked by his behavior. And if you require mask, why Alex was without mask doing smog check ?! I think Alex should be trained for customer service and could you please explain him about promo coupon, because Alex is not able to talk about that! read more

Fast friendly service. I went to the other smog place in the same building but they turned out to be test/fix and i needed test only. I walked to Discount and they gave me a good deal on the spot. 15 minutes later was headed home. Nice people and easy to do business with! read more

Super quick and easy. Make sure you print the Yelp coupon or have a Yelp account to get the discount. Parking/entering/exiting is a bit of a challenge as they are at the end of the narrow parking lot with Quality Tune Up. read more

A review cannot do justice to how surreal my experience was here. It only took 20 minutes with a pass for the lowest price around and I still wouldn't go back here. The quick highlights are: 1) This place lies about not one, but two coupon policies it advertises. 2) The guy ignored customers in order to take what sounded like unimportant personal calls. 3) The guy almost caused my car to fail through his incompetence. First, their website is now disabled, but at the time it simply stated "If you find a lower priced coupon locally bring it in we guarantee to match it." I found a coupon for $33 from the place two doors down sharing the same parking lot and they refused to match the price on the basis that the other place was not a "test only" facility. Nothing on their website qualified their seemingly simple coupon promise. Next, I tried the $39.95 deal available through checking in on Yelp. I did it right in front of the guy on my mobile phone and he said it wasn't valid on the grounds that I didn't have a Yelp account. I tried to reason with that, but he said if I actually had a Yelp account the deal would look different on my phone. I was about to leave but he offered me a deal of $35 flat including certificate, so I stayed. Minutes later he tells me my car doesn't look like it's going to pass and asks if I've been maintaining it. My car is in like-new condition. I go out to see what the problem is. He's turned the air conditioning to the highest setting on Max AC. Obviously the engine is going to work harder than if the AC is off. I tell him to turn it off. He doesn't do it, so I reach over and do it myself. As he put it, the car "magically" improved and passed the test. Of course the printer was not working, but I only needed them to send it electronically to the DMV since this was a renewal. Lastly, when I first showed up, instead of being at the front desk, the guy is sitting on a couch in the back on the phone. He turned away from me. I assumed he was finishing a call, but it took about a minute before he finally turned back and addressed me. He was on the phone off-and-on for more than half my time here. All the calls seemed to be relaxed and personal instead of business. Update: I noticed that the owner wrote a response to my review that says "well last sir if you were so unhappy why did you bring back a second car??????" This is inaccurate - I did not and would never bring back a second car to this establishment. read more

Dougherty Road Smog - I highly recommend this place! - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Dublin, California

I had done my research on Yelp and this Smog Check Center received very good comments, so I printed out a coupon for $30 off and a competitors coupon for $34.95. The staff at Discount Smog Check Center were very honest and helpful, and agreed to perform my Smog Check for a fantastic price because I have a Yelp account and I agreed to post a review. I went to this Smog Check center without an appointment around 1:30PM. I went across the street for a good bowl of soup lunch at Delica's bakery, and by the time I returned to the Smog Check center about 30 minutes later, my car had passed the smog check and it was ready for pick up. This is a great place to get a smog check. Nice, quick, efficient service, and a good price too. What else could you want??? I will recommend this center to everyone. read more

Great service, and very fast. Dropped in before registering my car from out of state and only took about 15 minutes in total. That panic of discovering you had to do a smog check before going to DMV is successfully ameliorated. Very helpful and efficient staff. read more

Rude behavior on phone.. Too busy.. will never go to this place for service... sorry I called and wasted ur valuable 40 seconds.

Avoid these guys at all costs. I had been going here for a few years since they were close to where I live. I used them for all 4 cars I have. They seemed over priced even though I had a coupon. They were never very friendly, just a matter of fact. Today I went and it was busy and cars were all ocuppying the open parking spots. There was no where to park so I pulled to the side where I did indeed see "no parking, tow away" sign by the garbage can. I began to walk inside to see how long when one of the guys yell at me "don't park there" in a very strong tone as a warning. I asked if there was anywhere else to park and he reply was "I don't know, you can't park there". He could have told me to come back but instead he had to make sure he had authority on this. I went back into my car and began to look for other smog businesses. Only after a minute or two he once again YELLED "You can't park there", and reply kindly that I was getting ready to leave and he continued to YELL again "Move your car". I had done my Acura there a couple of years ago with a coupon and was charged $50. I found a new place called "1 San Ramon Smog" on 2210 San Ramon Valley Blvd in San Ramon. They opened around 6 months ago. Very friendly, greated when I arrived as the tech came out from doing another car to provide me paperwork to fill out while in my car. Total came out to $39. AVOID THESE GUYS!!! read more

Call me crazy or silly, but I hate the hassle of smogging my vehicles. I can think of a lot of other things I'd rather be doing or spending money on, but like taxes, Big Brother says we've got to or else! Well, regardless of that, I'm usually very late on both my smog (and hence my vehicle registration) and my taxes. However, at least one of those might now change, because Discount Smog has made meeting the smog requirement quick and painless. The shop was a little difficult to find. It's at the back of a long, narrow driveway/parking lot adjacent to "Quality Tune Up" which is on the east side of Dougherty, south of Houston. Once there, service was super fast and easy. Be sure to mention the Yelp special, as it was truly $39.95 OUT THE DOOR. I will bring my other vehicles here when they're due for smog check/certificate. I highly recommend Discount Smog! read more
