I highly recommend Smog King! The service was fast, professional, and very friendly. They made the whole smog check process easy and stress-free. Great quality, great value, and excellent customer service. I will definitely come back again and recommend this place to others. Five stars! read more

This place was awesome! Super easy to book an appointment online! The entire process took 15 min once I got there. The service was great! The guy that helped me was the only one working so he was juggling customers and the cars. He was so efficient tho! He gave me the 20% discount which brought my total to $65! What a great deal! I HIGHLY recommend this business to everyone! They came recommended to me from the guys over at Oil Changers who serviced my vehicle the day before. Give them a visit! read more

Smog King - We love them here! - Smog Check Stations Near Me - San Ramon, California

Auto shops and smog shops usually make people nervous! Don't worry about that here! No BS just good fair work and prices.

Easy to reserve an appointment online and great service. Reasonable prices too. Definitely recommend if in need of a convenient location to get a smog certificate. read more

I love businesses like this one. I was able to make an appointment online to get my car smogged, and when I showed up for my appointment, the person was there ready for me. He took my key and went straight to work. In less than ten minutes, I paid (around $90) that same person and was out the door. Speedy services like these should be the gold standard. I chose this location because my wife smogged her car here two years ago, and recently, she received a reminder in the mail with a $20 coupon. I thought that was smart and thoughtful for them to do that. I guess I'll see them again in two years as well.m Overall I'm happy that my car passed smog and was able to do this whole service in less than 10 minutes. Thanks Smog King! read more

I started going to Smog King in San Ramon a couple of years ago after the shop I was going to closed and I went to a different shop that was very slow and I ended up drading the long wait at that shop. Then I took a recommendation to try Smog King. Owner Brian states "Our # 1 area is Customer Service". It didn't take long to prove it to me. I took 3 cars in for Smog Check in the last 30 days. Adam did 1 of the checks and Actor did 2 of the checks. In any business, someone has to be the best and my vote is for this shop these guys. Made the appointments on their website and got right in and out as scheduled. Very friendly and appreciated my business. read more

As an update, I received a message from the owner of Smog King. Very on point, and understanding he n might have an employee in the wrong job. Problems will always come up. I don't judge a business by the fact a problem took place, but I judge HARD by how they respond to it. It's clear to me the owner who's in his business every day expanding their reach will always put the customer first. That's all anyone can ask! read more

Dreaded smog check...ugh! Chris made the process more than bearable ..... essentially EASY ! Had an appointment within an hour of calling and was out of there in record time.....maybe 12 minutes. No hidden charges and coupon applied $68. Great service and value! read more

I got in as soon as I arrived. Everything was clearly explained to me. I was out in 20 min.

Great experience. Made a last minute appt. on a Sunday, pulled up and was in/out in 10 minutes. Really friendly guy working, very personable. read more

Not bad, got me in and out quick, professional. Kinda weird to have a tip screen at a smog shop though

Booking online was simple, and the smog check was done fast. The guy working there was really kind. Highly recommend.

Chris serviced my Aston Martin Vantage taking great care of the vehicle from opening the hood to carefully opening the doors of this super car. I appreciated the white glove treatment. Even though car failed first time due to the fact that the battery had been replaced recently - all OBD settings needed a run in on the car - Chris took time to explain this - it passed after a 20 mile journey - I checked things prior to goin in with my own meter also - in and out both times in 20 minutes - so thumbs up here for this business ! read more

Smog King - At smog king ! - Smog Check Stations Near Me - San Ramon, California

The following is a summary of my interaction with this establishment from 04/14/24: I had made an appointment for a standard smog inspection scheduled at 1:45 pm via the listed phone number: 925-820-5665. When I arrived at 1:45, I waited for a few minutes at the counter to check-in for my appointment. The technician came inside from the work area and gave me a look I can only describe as 'utter contempt' and stated that "you may as well just leave now because I don't have any more time to do a smog". I noted to the technician that I had a confirmed appointment scheduled at 1:45 pm. He replied that, "there is no way you have an appointment" and stomped over to his computer. Now I'm someone that doesn't particularly enjoy being gaslighted by people and thus was done speaking to this person at this point and left. This brief interaction was absolutely one of the worst customer service experiences to date for me. I understand that it may be busy, and I understand that this person may not want to be working on a Sunday afternoon, but this is a level of poor service that even I am not able to empathize with (and I deal with upset customers frequently in my line of work as well). If he simply told me that he's overbooked, or that he's just not going to be able to do it today like a normal person would, that would be more than enough for me to reschedule to a differnt date and try again -- but I guess a basic level of human decency and respect is considered too much. Suffice it to say I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future and I recommend that others do the same. Apparently a confirmed appointment is only taken as a suggestion here. read more

Had a 11:45 AM appointment set up for my 1984 vehicle. I had called and they had given me a $100 flat rate for that vehicle. I arrived promptly at 11:45. I tried to confirm that we're going to be doing this for the agreed to rate as the rate posted on their wall was around $129. They denied they ever had told me the $100 flat rate so the back-and-forth continued with some yelling from the supposed Customer Service person by the name of Chris. This person needs to be fired from this business if this person is not representing their business in a professional cordial manner to their customers. I still have the receipt from two years earlier when they had done it for $88 on the same vehicle. I do realize prices do go up as they all do when you agree to something you should abide by it and not deny it after the customer shows up. Separately don't yell at the customer. I believe the owner of this business is Brian. Brian - if you're reading this, you need to tell your employee "Chris" - to change his approach to Customer Service. 30 minutes later, I had my smog check done and completed for what do you know $100 at BesTech down the street who got it done in 15 minutes. I could've gotten it done for $90 at Ace Auto Repair down the street where I take my car for maintenance and they do a fantastic job but due to my time constraints and availability of the stall, I decided to do it at BesTech. You have a lot of competition so I suggest you do better job and when you make a promise or give an estimate follow through. read more

Called ahead on a Thursday morning to check availability and they said to come on over. I was in and out within 10 painless minutes. Due to who I am as a person, I forgot all paperwork, but they were able to conjure it up for me for a small extra charge. Fast, friendly service. Can't complain. This will be my go to smog spot for all our vehicles. read more

Easy to book an appointment online through their website link here on Yelp. Unfortunately, upon my arrival this morning I noticed a sign in the window indicating due to Covid there has been a change in hours of operation. Currently they are not open Sunday's. Completely understandable and I am not upset that they've changed their hours. However - this was not mentioned on Yelp, not on their website, not even on my email confirmation for this morning apt! I only found out when I arrived at the shop and found the letter (pictured below) posted in the window. Really wish that this information was available before I arrived for my apt. I don't like wasting anyones time especially my own.. read more

Clean, fast, professional. This is my go to place for smog check. I would encourage anyone go to this place.

Easy to make appointment online. Took my car right on time. Finished in 10 minutes. No games, no upsell because I had a truck, or because I needed a star smog (everybody in CA needs star smog). Reasonable price with a coupon compared to other smog check providers (smog checks cost more than most medical procedures per hour which is ridiculous). Made what is usually a time consuming process quick an easy. Would recommend and return in the future. read more

Went by to get my car smoged, there was a car that was being worked on, I parked my car behind it just so I could run it to find out the wait time I got approached by the employee rudely demanded I move my car. I couldn't believe it!! And when I simply asked how long the wait was, he again screamed I move my car right away ! I drove up the street, got the smog done with actual customer service. read more

Outstanding service provided by Chris S.!: As soon as I parked my car, Chris S (and his partner) met me at my car to confirm my appt. time & obtain my mileage. After checking me in, my Smog Certification was completed in literally five minutes. Chris answered all of my questions, and was professional and personable every step of the way. I couldn't have asked for more outstanding customer service from Chris S. AND his partner (my apologies as I didn't get his name)! In addition to competent work in a timely manner, I have a unique story why Smog King is near & dear to my heart. 5 1/2 years ago, my Jeep was stolen here in San Ramon while my wife & I were back in NY celebrating the birth of our 1st granddaughter. 3 weeks later it was recovered by the Martinez PD & I was able to have it towed back to SR. Although not badly damaged, the thief had hot-wired the ignition thus enabling the Jeep to be started w/o a key. As it was on a Saturday, & my mechanic is closed on the weekend, I couldn't get it repaired for a couple of days. Living in an apt. complex (where it had been stolen from) I didn't want the Jeep unsecured. After being turned away from the storage facility where I'd rented a storage space for several years @ $350/mo citing flimsy insurance concerns (thanks for nothing SafKeep) I noticed Smog King (where I got all my cars regularly smogged) was open. When I explained my predicament, they were OK with locking-in my vulnerable Jeep until Monday morning when I could then take it to my mechanic. I will forever be grateful for that small act of kindness. Thank-you Smog King! read more

Called for an appointment and I got 2:30pm showed up on time and they weren't ready for me, waited 20 minutes and then took me. Then while taking my test he stopped my car to do a retest on a stop in! Rude! What's the point of the appointment? I feel like I'm watching a Seinfeld episode. They clearly don't honor the appointment time so why do they insist you call for an appointment? I'm going to take my business somewhere else! read more
