UPDATE: Owner just called after reading this and gave me a portion of my money back. Very friendly and helpful, said he recently changed ownership and the old reviews are no longer accurate. I still don't fully understand who would pay $90 for a SMOG check....but apparently it's a Dublin real estate cost issue? He recommended his Pleasanton shop instead. Went there to get my Mustang smogged for the first time. I had a $40 off coupon that I presented when I went in. They did not tell me how much it was going to cost. Afterward, they charged me $58. Which means the full price was $90? Made no sense. They ripped me off. DON'T GO HERE. read more

Smog check when the check engine light is on? Yep... Why? Because he could! Free Retest after the car was repaired? No... why should he? Didn't happen. Take the coupon for retest? No... Not going to honor that. Take advantage of a young person who didnt know the difference? Yes. Because He could. Take my call and call me out when I confront them.. Everything was fine except for the service. This was my first time taking my car in to get smog tested. As a young, relatively inexperienced car owner I don't expect to have my hand held through the process but I do expect common courtesy and professionalism. The people working there were relatively unpleasant and curt; one of the men was downright rude. I didn't catch his name but he was muscular and on the shorter side, with a shaved head and tattoos on his upper arms. When I asked him how much it would cost, he replied "The amount you signed for", even though he had me sign the sheet while it was blank. I had been polite and friendly to this man and I expected to be treated the same way in return but he was very brisk and unhelpful. After he left the room, another man who had been waiting even made a comment about how unfriendly he was to me. The entire time, I was treated like I was creating a hassle for them when in reality, I was helping pay their salary. Lesson learned - I have no desire to bring my business back to a place that doesn't seem to want it. I talked to my father, who has taken his car there in the past, and he told me that he was also not treated well by the same man. Next time I need to get my car tested, I am going somewhere else. If you want first time customers to return, I highly suggest working on your customer service and basic manners. read more

I called to see if an appointment was needed on a Thursday afternoon. Joe told me he could get me in an out in 15 minutes and no appointment was needed. Joe was very friendly upon arrival. There was one person ahead of me but it took about 25 mins all together with waiting for the person ahead of me. Quick Service, Great Price especially if you mention yelp. Once again this place comes out a winner! No haggles no stress, I love this place. This is now my official smog guy. He never charges for a return test if you fail the first time. Very fair. Ask him any question about what to expect and he will answer you. If you suspect there is something that might fail your car, then ASK! Other shops will hook up your car and fail it, when they know it will fail from the visual inspection...something that could have been avoided by just asking. This was, by far, the best experience I've had with a smog check! I definitely wasn't looking forward to getting my smog checked on my GMC Sonoma. I needed to get it done today, and I hadn't made any appointments, so I tried Yelp to see if I could find anything near my house that may have an opening today. This was the first review I read actually, and I saw their very low price, so I gave them a ring. Appointment? Not needed, come on down! I was helped out by Joe, who gave awesome customer service and let me know that if I kept my receipt, I could come back and get the same price next time! And the best part? They finished my truck so fast, I actually thought that it had failed and they stopped early! But it passed without issue and I was in and out in probably less than 15 minutes, max! The fastest and most inexpensive smog inspection i've ever had! I will definitely be going back with my truck and my Fiancee's car as well. I got off work at 5 and called to schedule a smog. Person over the phone was very nice and accommodating even though they were ready to pack it up and go home. This level of customer service is superb and greatly appreciated. The smog was completed in less than fifteen minutes and I was on my way -- results electronically sent to the DMV. I needed to get a Smog test, per the DMV.... I was looking for some place close to home or work, some place quick (done within 20 minutes), and some place affordable. After reading the reviews, I decided upon Discount Smog Check Center - and I'm glad I did! For starters, I got 50% off the regular price, so I paid $39.99 out the door. Nice! Every other place was more expensive, and by quite a bit too. They take walk-in's, but if you make an appointment, you're in and out of there in about 15 minutes. Love it! I had an appointment at 5pm, and was driving out of the parking lot by 5:15pm. Very happy with the service and the price - plus, it's close to home, so I didn't have to go very far out of my way.
