The owners are on some type of crusade to stop growth and development in Raytown and the funny thing is they don't even live in this community. They want to try and stop wal-mart from developing an neighborhood market in the green space in downtown Raytown. I have seeing more growth in the past two year then I have seeing in the past ten. So why would we want to stop now? Just because the name is Wal-mart, I didn't hear anyone complaining about Jimmy Johns, Chipotle, Save-A-Lot, Aldi, Ihop and any other new establishments in town. So what the problem now? JUST SO EVERYONE KNOW WHEN I WAS ASK TO SIGN UP FOR THEIR CRUSADE AND EXPRESSED MY OPINION I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED THE SAME. THEY ARE VERY SHORT AND RUDE WHEN I COME IN!! I just ate a longjohn there! Most wonderful one I've had in a very long time. Big and fresh with lots of chocolate icing. I'm going back! My waistline shows that I love food. By the way, they are only a bakery currently. The owners had a very successful bakery business for years in Kansas City. The man who handled the deli side in Raytown is no longer with them and gave them very bad press when they first started up. I absolutely love the owners after I got to know them today and they are trying so very hard since the deli guy. SO, PLEASE GO BACK AND GIVE THEM A TRY TODAY! This place is a hidden yummy goodness store :) I hate that they need days off and vacations because I sure miss their donuts when they are not open! I have even gotten my staff members hooked on their donuts. What I love about their donuts compared to other places that I have been, they are soft and fluffy, have just the right amount of sweetness and tastes great with my coffee. Their donuts are NOT dried out and don't make you feel like you have to have something to drink with them to wash them down. I just have my coffee because I love coffee :) This place also has great coffee and the most wonderful and friendly staff. For those that thought it wasn't such a friendly place, must not get out in public very much. The owners are terrific people who have a heart as big as a mountain. Couldn't be any friendlier. At first sure they had their share of problems but nothing ever starts out smelling like roses, there's bound to be a few thorns every now and then.. If you want some good donuts, every flavor, every kind, this is the place to go, and this is the place to meet your neighbors. After being spotted on the news at a city council meeting that was a spreader event, then lying to customers about the owner being sick, the owner makes fun of those wearing masks. He thanked an older man in a mask for being a guinea pig, making fun of a paying customer. Who cares if the donuts are good when you give hard-earned money to a lunatic? I'm done with this place and I'm pretty sure eating their donuts makes you just a bit more stupid. read more

Most fantastic donuts ever!! Their apple fritters are the best that I've ever had. And the owners are wonderful people. About a month ago, the owners had to "kick out" the other half of their shop ("real"food/non-donut person) because that individual was mean and crude to customers. So they're hoping to offer other menu selects again, but for now it's delicious, yummy donuts. Please don't let the reputation of the jerk that used to work there keep you from trying them. I went in for doughnuts the other day and they were the best doughnuts I have ever eaten. On top of that they don't fill their Long-johns unless you want them too. We don't like gunk in the middle of our Long-johns and it seems like every other place runs out of the unfilled ones before we get there. They were very friendly. They only had one Hello Kitty doughnut left and were more than happy to make another one. read more

I love Doughboys. I go there all the time and I was amazed to see any negative reviews. Everyone in town loves the donuts and the owners are fabulous. My parents won't eat donuts from anywhere else because, as my mom puts it, "Doughboys spoiled us". Everything about this place was amazing! my bf and I visited for the first time today (looking for close donut shops near us) and they were so nice to us! The women that help us out was such the sweetest and so patient with us! The shop was super adorable with cute antique shop feel! We are definitely going back!
