I rode my stallion RKSpecial Harley over an hour for what Yelp search said was "dim sum"! Sadly this place is NOT a true "dim sum" restaurant as identified! The spicy beef shank was nothing like wat i expected and was not well liked. It is a dish served cold. Thin shavings of meat and some cut pieces with a light barely detectable flavor that was not spicy. The sweet and sour cucumber i added a little soy sauce and man that was good. Cud have used sesame seeds. The pork wontons in chili sauce were yummm but for the price you didn't get many. Pork and shrimp pan fried potstickers came grilled stuck together but nothing super special. Pan fried pork buns had inside a ball of cooked pork and some delicious juice. Place was steady busy at 1250. Bathroom small and clean. Wud i ride my stallion again over an hour for this expensive choice. I think not. Over $52 including 15% tip for 5 choices and i did have "to go boxes"! read more

The food was pretty good however portions are a little small. My 6 year old ears a portion and is still hungry usually thats no the case. We had soup dumplings, we had beef noodle soup and wontons. Kids and I have ordered like 12 dishes almost every-time we come. read more

Sunday dinner time. Got a table in no time. Menu was explained to us and we placed our order. Food was delivered promptly. Lots of different flavors and we left full. Server was very polite and cheerful. read more

Slow service, surely waiter, chairs as hard as rock, and everything tasted like under-cooked dough. Other than that...

Great food food came out hot and fresh service was great. Ambience is amazing. I definitely would come back here.

This was my first Dough Zone adventure and it was a roller coaster ride. I put my order in online - that's a must - when I went to pick it up there was a line out of the door. None of the staff would make eye contact with me so I could ask for my order so that was not great. The food was good. I didn't know what to expect but everything was savory and cooked well. I'll be back but maybe after the crowds calm down... Please add smiles and welcome to your service. That would be appreciated!! read more

Food is outstanding, wait time was short, and the ambiance was enjoyable. Everyone was working hard, kind, helpful, and did I mention the food was amazing? read more

We've eaten here a few times and they do not disappoint! We loved everything! The service was excellent too! We will be back!!!!

Excellent food, nice setting, good service. So many excellent choices that it is easy to over-order. Also, great value considering the high quality of the food. The bill for 5 people was $200, but we had a lot of leftovers, and we all ate a lot. $40 a person is a lot, but the food was good a lot of variety. read more

Service was great and the food is really good. We got the Beef-Stew Noodles and the Beef Pancake Roll and it was great. Definitely recommend this place! read more

This review is written with Din Tai Fung as my comparison. Dough Zone has a lot of great items like the chili wontons, pan fried pork buns, and the beef pancake roll. They do not offer vegan options though, and wontons are boiled in the same water so it's not safe for shellfish allergies. Both times we have gone, our servers seemed confused and annoyed at us asking for simple things like a fork for a kid, but they weren't necessarily rude, but did leave us waiting forever for our check. The decor is modern and bathrooms are clean. I don't mind it for a local option, but prefer Din Tai Fung because they have garlic green beans and more dessert options. read more

This is my absolute favorite go to spot for Taiwanese pork soup dumplings. Great addition to Lacey!!!

Food was amazing. The soup dumplings come out HOT so be careful. The service was lovely. Not overly attentive but aware of what's going on at the tables. The ambiance is fine. Nothing too crazy but I saw a review about lack of acoustics and I'd agree. Not gonna knock a star for that though. Can't wait to go back. read more

We ordered 2 orders of the pork Xiao Long Baka and they were delicious, the cucumber salad, the beef shank and the spicy beef shank, the steamed pork bun and the pan fried pork fun and the pork chili wontons, everything was delicious and absolutely worth trying We also got the beef noodle soup which was very delicious but the portion size was disappointing and can barely be shared with 2 people. We got the sour plum drink and the chrysanthemum hot tea which were both delicious. Our server was polite and nice, we had to continuously ask for more napkins which would be a lot nicer if they just provided more or kept a stack on the table. The restaurant is new so it's. Nice and clean, I appreciate that the restroom was far from the dining area. read more

In general, we enjoyed the food, especially the Shanghai dumplings. I wouldn't order egg crepe and green onion pancake - they were just so so. Good service and ambiance. read more

Between the two of us we ordered 9 plates. Some were tasty and I would reorder and some were tasteless. I would have preferred our food to be deliver all at one time. There was about a 15 minute span between some of the plates being delivered. read more

Amazing food! Family style, eating with smaller portions and inexpensive prices so you can share. I went with a group of friends and the Bill was very inexpensive. Fast service I don't think our drinks were empty once! read more

Went here with the family. It's ok. Service was ok. Food was not bad, kinda over priced for the portion. The food came out fast.

Food is actually fine - it not Din Tai Fung, but you'll get decent dumplings and other things. Problem is the kitchen remains out of control. Orders take silly amounts of time - 60min for some Bao. Figure it out guys. It's deserted and you've been open for three months now. Plenty of staff in front and kitchen. Makes it not fun. read more

On Wednesday 8/13/25 my wife and I went to lunch at the Dough Zone and I had the Xiao Long Dumplings. they were very good. My wife had the chicken vegetable wonton with chili sauce and sweet and sour cucumber. She loved the cucumber but I don't like cucumbers and didn't even try them. Over all, i would give it 4.5 stars. read more

The DZ in Lacey serves some of the best and most flavorful food in a casual urban setting! The servers are quick and the food is served hot! If this is your first time, don't be surprised by how to place your order or the volume of guests! read more

This is literally the worst restaurant and the worst customer service. They are rude inconsiderate, and I saw them using on the safe practices when handling food. Highly recommend not going here. read more

Delicious food--I had the high-tail shrimp, Dan-dan noodles, pork wontons in chili sauce and the sweet & sour cucumber. All the tastes complemented each other. So nice to have a uniquely different restaurant to try! Especially appreciate the ability to get delivery--I think that's going to be the wave of the future. read more

Wide variety of unique dished but oddly bland. Most tasting almost the same. I ordered several types to share and sample. No sauces like similar dumpling restaurants have. My son said he didn't like it either. We don't plan to return. read more

I was so excited when I saw that a dough zone was opening up in Lacey as I love Dim Sum. We decided to go immediately after work as it's brand new. We ordered Xia Lin Bao, Dan Dan noodles, chili wonton, beef pancake roll, green onion pancake and pan fried pork bao. Everything was delicious! The standouts were the Xia lin Bao and the Dan Dan noodles. I could eat 3 orders of Dan Dan noodles. The Service was good, but a little slow due to just opening. I can't wait to come back and eat my way through the menu! read more

Delicious! Staff was great. Food was amazing. The restaurant is new and cozy. Outdoor seating to come . I will be returning. Great add to Lacey! read more

Friday evening. Packed with a wait list, but not a long wait. Outdoor seating is closed - Curious decision since it is 80 and sunny. Staff is attentive and friendly. I enjoyed the green onion pancakes and hightail shrimp. my wife liked the noodles. read more

Before we get negative I would like to say the food was actually good . The spicy beef pancake though was chewy and cold like it sat for a minute after being cooked . Besides that food was tasty . Now for the negative our waitress Elyza was HORRIBLE! Other people had to tell her that we were waiting to even receive our bill! Firstly she never introduced herself , we finally got a chance to read her name tag. Then she brings us water after 20 minutes of already sitting there . Our food took almost an hour to come ! Now even though we was a little worried about how long we was sitting there it didn't really bother us until we noticed A couple came in and sat right next to us. They received water, other drinks and their food all within 20 minutes! It was cold inside the facility as well . it hurt to look around and notice that everyone was coming and going eating their food despite them coming AFTER us . I THINK for now on i will just take that extra drive to Bellevue. read more

Great food and service I will be a repeat customer everything was great and I love the way the food was brought in phases not all at once so food remained warm. read more

The service here is horrendous, unfortunately. Food is sub par and overpriced as well. They really need new people working in this location who care about their job and the customers more. read more

We have been more times than I'm willing to say since they opened. All of them, the food is amazing. The cucumber salad is just the right mixture of sweet, sour with a little heat. We've tried many different dishes and with a few exceptions, loved them all. The service is really good especially when you consider how busy they are. We love this place and are so happy to have this option in Lacey. read more

First, I want to acknowledge this is not Din Tai Fung. This is Dough Zone, a budget friendly fast-ish food restaurant. My husband and I love dim sum, my mother and kids prefer blender food. All five of us were able to find something on the restaurant for our palates. Service was great. One dish arrived late, though it went unnoticed to us since ordered so much food. Kids loved: chicken dumpling soup Nana loved: green onion soy noodles and XLB Husband and I enjoyed: Dan Dan noodles, crispy pork buns, XLB Note: you need to request ginger on the side (free) if you want ginger Kids were disappointed with soda in cans (no refills). Adults were disappointed in the chive dumplings (too greasy). Restaurant was crowded but clean. No physical menus. I was surprised my kids were given glassware (6 and 9) and I was even more shocked that they didn't try and use them as instruments. Overall, we are happy with our experience. Happy there is now an option in the south sound for dumplings. read more

I've been waiting for Dough Zone to open in Lacey since it was first announced and I am glad that it was as good as I was hoping. It's a little busy since it just opened, but I found the waiters to be friendly and attentive and my food came out pretty fast with my first dish coming within 5 minutes of ordering. The prices are good and for people in the local area they also offer a rewards program to earn points towards free dishes, with double points on Tuesdays. If it's busy when you arrive they do have a waitlist kiosk that you can put your name on if there are people ahead. Of the dishes I tried, I found the Dan Dan Noodles amazing and was also impressed by their Pork Wontons in Chili Oil. Overall, I found it to be a nice place to go to with great food and service, just expect it to be a little busy especially since it just opened. read more
