Our daughter has celiac disease and is on a very strict gluten-free diet, so eating away from home can sometimes be stressful. Shortly after we arrived, our daughter noticed a mint displayed near the bar area where Zoey was working and politely asked her, "Excuse me, is this mint gluten-free?" Zoey immediately smiled and told her she would find out. What really impressed us was that she didn't guess or simply tell us what she thought--she actually went to the back of the restaurant to check. A few minutes later, she came back smiling and told our daughter that she could absolutely have the candy and that it was safe for her. It may sound like such a small thing, but for a child with celiac disease--and for parents who are constantly checking ingredients and worrying about what is safe--it meant so much. And the most amazing part? Zoey wasn't even our server. We were seated outside on the patio, but she still took the time to help our daughter and make her feel comfortable. As we talked more, Zoey shared that her niece also has celiac disease. Suddenly, we understood why she was so caring and knowledgeable. She told us how much her niece loves Pizzaioli's gluten-free pasta, explained some of the gluten-free options, and even took time to recommend other places in the area where our daughter could safely eat during the following days of our stay. That went far beyond simply doing her job. It was genuine kindness. We also want to recognize our actual server, whose name we unfortunately didn't catch. She was wonderful. We were seated on the patio and couldn't get a good view of a game we wanted to watch on TV, and she went out of her way to help relocate us to better seats so we could enjoy the game with our dinner. She took excellent care of us throughout the evening. And the food? Absolutely delicious. We loved it so much that we even ordered another meal to take with us for the road! But when we think back on our evening at Pizzaioli, we'll remember Zoey most. Zoey, thank you for taking the time to care for our daughter even though we weren't your table. Your kindness, your smile, and the way you immediately understood our concerns made our family feel incredibly welcomed. What may have seemed like a few small gestures to you made a very big impression on us. Pizzaioli is very lucky to have you. We will absolutely be back the next time we're in the area.

The food here might have been good, we will never know; but the poor operational management and lack of basic hospitality completely ruined the experience for us.
