We had a walnut tree on its way out that needed to be removed. Contacted a few tree removal services and a few were able to give us estimates within a few days. Doug was friendly and flexible. He gave me a very reasonable estimate and added in like 8-9 stumps that needed to be removed for a fair price. The price was great but the service was even better. Doug arrived with crew one cutting the back one in the front. Shortly after Doug announced he was leaving and Matt was in charge, the one in the back. He did NOT ask to leave. He had come on a prior date to give an estimate after I explained what needed to be done. Nothing was to be removed. I thought he was running an errand to return shortly. He did not come back till late in the day after I called and finally sent a pic of my tree with its arms cut off except some lower ones. He offered to charge me only half price and had to cut the main stalk lower so it wouldn't look so akward (like it was giving the finger)and have a better chance of survival. He said in acouple years it will look better. My first experience hiring someone and doing a Yelp review. He seemed unconcerned with the devastation of my tree and it's appearance in my small front yard. After the Yelp review he returned many times to try to get us to take the review down. Our tree trimming project began due to a down large limb off of one of our 8 medium to large backyard trees. We began the project by getting competitive bids from various tree services in and around Sacramento. Doug Peterson hands down gained our trust and loyalty based on his honest, professional approach, great pricing and awesome communication. He returned our call very quickly and was able to come out the same day we made contact. He examined the tree that lost a limb and recommended that the tree would need to be felled due to the downed limb taking almost half the trunk with it. We had Doug examine the other 7 trees, none of which had ever been trimmed in more than 25 years. Doug provided a more than fair estimate for felling one tree and trimming the remaining 7. The work would include cutting the wood into approximately 16" pieces, stacking and cleanup. Doug and his crew arrived on the designated day and time. It was amazing to watch them! Doug beat another bid by $2000. Three 80-90" Liquid Amber trees to remove with stump grinding. They came out with appropriate equipment to do a big job right. He and his crew were fast and cleaned up after themselves. They repaired a fence that was damaged when the trees were removed -- left it stronger than they found it. I had Doug and his crew cut two trees last week. The first one was a orange tree that they had out, stump grounded and cleanup completed in less than four hours. Two days later they came to another property of mine and took down a huge pine tree that was leaning into my neighbors yard. This tree had to be at least 50 feet tall. Doug came out with a crew of 6 and had the tree down and a 4 foot diameter stump ground down and all the wood hauled off in 8 hours. His crew is very professional as he is, their workmanship is like a machine and Doug's pricing for both jobs was by far the best of the two other tree services that came out. They showed up on time and left our property looking cleaner than when they arrived! We are so pleased with their work. We had two very large palm trees in our backyard along with a smaller clump overlooking our pool. We have a very tight backyard space and the trees were up against a neighboring fence next to the pool. The front yard had a few smaller trees and bushes that we also wanted removed and a random palm stump that had been left by the previous owners. It was a big job and we were told with other quotes we received that grinding the palm trees stumps and hauling the debris were going to be an extra charge. One of the companies who quoted us wanted almost double of what Doug quoted us for the job. He gave us one price for the entire job, along with hauling away everything they tore down.
