I arrived here early afternoon before check-in. I knew I was early, but went to the front desk anyway, and they told me that they would text me when my room was ready. After a couple hours went by and I didn't hear anything, I went back to the front desk and my room was ready, but they never texted me. I don't expect to get a room early, but I do expect that if they say they'll text me that they do. I was also really surprised that I had to pay for parking. It is a pretty good location and I enjoyed my balcony on the river.

I love this hotel!! Right off the animas river walking path, down the street from downtown. I can park my car and walk to Main Street and not have to worry about tickets, the cops were handing out parking violations like they were candy in a previous trip. The rooms are great, customer service is good and get a room with a balcony and river facing room! It's worth it! They can be pricey so plan ahead or use another booking platform.

I visited here about 5 years ago and nothing has really changed. I think the carpets are newer. This could be such a lovely hotel. It just needs an upgrade. The staff was very pleasant, we ate in the Beer Garden, it was very good for dinner. Great beer on tap from Breckenridge Brewery. The location is excellent, right on the Animas River, which has a wonderful riverwalk. I had kind of hoped they would have stepped up the game since my last visit - like updated paint, furniture, lighting, but they only managed carpet (grateful for that as I tried to keep up my regimen of push-ups last visit and could not bear it). I can somewhat understand that the past two years have been difficult for all businesses. But please, invest in your property, it's begging for it and it will pay off!! Chocolate chips cookies still provided in arrival, a tasty treat. I'll likely visit again, such a pretty location, and also close to downtown. Parking, while plentiful, is not free and I was not told!

The location was excellent located on the Animas River, excellent running trail located outside the hotel along the river. Walking access to the town for dinner and about a 30-minute drive to the hot springs or Purgatory Mountain. The service was very nice and accommodating. The hot tub was perfect after a full day of shredding on the mountain. Will stay here again and reccomend.

It was nice but very expensive for what it was. cookies were great but you have to ask for them they don't just give them to you. Food was not the best but the view was nice

I was looking forward to my families one night stay here passing through Durango as it appeared to be advertised as one of the nicer hotels in Durango. For the price you pay, I can honestly say that it really wasn't great. The building and rooms look like they were made in the 70's and haven't been renovated in a long time. As someone who comes from the hotel industry, it's important to keep up to date with renovations in order to keep people happy. First off, the beds are not the most comfortable, and definitely feel dated. The sheets in our bedroom had stains on them, which made us pretty grossed out and concerned with the level of cleanliness of the hotel rooms overall. This was an immediate red flag for us. The windows are old and not sealed properly so you could hear the cars out on the street all night as well as a bitter cold draft coming through them. When we turned the temperature in our room up to 74 degrees, we realized it was pumping cold air all night instead of warm air. We went to bed and woke up freezing because of this. Wallpaper is coming off the seams of the walls, and overall the hotel needs lots of renovation. Small waters in the room are $3.... Seriously? Also, you have to pay for WIFI if you are not a Hilton Honors member... this was so bizarre to us given the amount you pay, you could get free wifi at any of the other motels/hotels in town and pay a lot less. It was a total bummer. Lastly, if you plan on working out while on your trip, know that the gym is nestled in the basement and is incredibly small with minimal equipment. The hot tub happened to not be working while we were here but that didn't ruin our trip overall. I would also say that it appears that they are understaffed (could be because it's the off season?), however, for the most part, the front desk workers were kind especially Jason. One of the ladies of the kitchen staff accommodated us to toast our bagels we brought since the toaster was not out anymore which was also kind. Overall, I would definitely stay somewhere else while visiting Durango. This wasn't the WORST stay, but definitely not the best. The hotel needs some work, and I wish them well.

How is the overall noise level of the hotel? Are the walls between rooms paper thin? Taking a young toddler with us soon for the Polar Express and curious how we'll fair with naps and bedtime. Thanks in advance

An old school radio, suitcase, and telephone were among the many items on the shelves. These rooms certainly aren't anything fancy, but everything was clean and tidy. It's nice that check in is contactless. You simply get a set of directions emailed to you once you book letting you know the code to get in. Parking is limited but they do give you a parking pass so you're all set. Also great is its location. Truly the center of downtown, within walking distance to all the shops, bars, restaurants, and coffee joints you could need. The one bummer was a leaking ceiling in our unit's bathroom. Hopefully they get that sorted ASAP because it was quite bad. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to travelers passing through!

We didn't plan to use the kitchenette but we appreciated having the extra space to spread out. The bed was comfortable and overall the room was clean. When we stayed there was not maid service other than trash pickup and a towel refresh. The hotel has a hot breakfast that starts at 6:30am. We appreciated the convenience of a quick bite to eat before heading out for our daily adventure. Overall breakfast was satisfying. We particularly liked the tortilla, egg, bacon and potato casserole dish. The hotel is located several miles from historic Durango where many of the town's popular restaurants and shops are located. We were fine with driving to historic Durango but there are some hotel options that are within walking distance of the historic district. As far as amenities, the hotel has a gym, indoor pool and hot tub and guest laundry. The laundry room was clean and had two "speed queen" washers and two dryers. The wash cycle was a speedy 23 minutes but the dry cycle was more like 50 minutes. I definitely appreciated being able to wash our hiking clothes before heading to our next destination. One thing that really impressed me about the hotel is that I left an item behind and they called me to let me know. I stay in a lot of hotels each year and although I don't leave stuff behind too often, I don't think many of them would take the initiative to call a guest about a lost item. A few minor nits - there was leftover drinks and food in our fridge from the previous guest that I thought house keeping should have cleared out. Also, the sodas in the vending machine are expired. One Diet Coke I got expired four months ago and the other Diet Coke I got expired six months ago. The irony is that the hotel is located next to the Coca-Cola distribution plant.
