This place is great. The pizza is so good amd they have surprisingly good burgers and chicken wings. Friendly staff as well.

The food is mediocre. The service can be slow. But, the low rating is for the absolute rudeness of the an older staff person there who seated us. After the meal, he ran out an accused my party of not paying. He had some random $20 check in hand and claimed money was missing. I immediately pulled out my receipt that showed I had paid the entire table ($120) on my credit card. He ran back to the restaurant with no apology. He was either mistaken and should have apologized. Or, he was trying to scam an extra $20 out of my party, which is sketchy. Never going back. If you go here: TAKE YOUR RECEIPT FROM THE CREDIT CARD MACHINE. It makes it harder for him to scam you. Worst customer service of all time. Today I decided to try this place for the first time. I ordered a pizza and wings from this place for delivery. (had to repeat my order 4 times) The guy was very rude over the phone. It gets delivered. I pay them the price plus tips. I open the pizza and see it's not what I had ordered. I call them to straighten it out. The guy tells me that they've done it right. So I drive to the restaurant, show the guy the order so that he believes me while still being rude about the whole situation. I ask for a refund they say and I quote "no refund" and finally agree to make me a new one. After it's ready I want to make sure they know this is not the way to treat a customer so I tell the guy "I will make sure no one I know ever buys from this place". He flips out and tells me to "get the fuck out of the restaurant". And then his colleagues come around in a threatening way. So I tell them to fuck off and leave the place. The wings were good and the pizza was also ok once they fixed it and their prices are also reasonable. But if you care about customer service definitely avoid this place. read more

Here's my reason for the one star rating: if you order a gluten free pizza, you get a small pizza (10") which you already pay an extra $3 for but here's the thing... they additionally charge you for a medium or a large regular pizza, depending on their mood. Having owned two pizza restaurants myself, I can tell you from a position of authority that the increase of pricing for sizes is supposed to be directly in proportion to the amount of cheese, sauce and other toppings. So, really, this business is charging you an extra $6-8 for a gluten free crust and you pay $21+ for a small pizza. It's an extremely underhanded way to do business. When confronted with this discrepancy, the owner's reply was "that's just how we do it", repeatedly, before becoming quite insulting. So, Double DD Pizza, this is how "I do it": you will no longer get my business after being a weekly customer for the past two years, nor that of my family, nor will I any longer recommend you to any of my friends or acquaintances as was my practice. As a matter of fact, I will dissuade others from patronizing your business given the opportunity and will instead recommend one of the many other Greek style pizza restaurants in the area. Shame on you for being dishonest and for treating your customers so poorly. If this is how they treat long time customers, look out if you have a complaint and you're a new one. read more

This place is as good as it gets - the food is fantastic, the prices are fantastic, the atmosphere is, well, fantastic. We recently ate at another local pub in the area and left saying, "We should've just gone to Double DD's". All other places pale in comparison since their recent renovations. If you tried this place before their upgrades and didn't think much of it, please give it another try! It's well worth the visit! You can get a pint for as low as $3.75, and their specials are even better. They cook up some of the best steak I've ever eaten, and their pizza is delicious. They have great greek food as well, with both veg only, and non-veg options. For about $13.99, you can get a steak, salad, and a lovely side of pasta. Every time I've been there, the chef always comes out and checks each table to make sure the food is ok. It's family run and family oriented, clean, friendly, delicious, affordable, with excellent service and a great atmosphere. Just give this place a whirl - you won't be sorry you did. read more

I just come here for the pasta special, which is a fantastic deal in a neighbourhood where your only other dining options are sushi, chain pizza or A&W. $10 for a huge portion of delicious cheesy pasta is just obscene, the veggie sauce is a personal favorite as there are lots of good chunks of mushroom and spinach, very yum. Quality isn't crazy good, the garlic bread is usually burnt but it's tasty as hell and for $10 it's hard to complain. If you're dining in they've got great deals on some very decent Italian wines, and the servers are really friendly. If you're ordering takeout it's generally the owner who picks up, he's a bit brusque as other reviewers have pointed out. Great little neighbourhood joint. read more

Amazing!!!!! The place is not fancy at all, and it always looks empty, why? I don't know. They are not very fast on bringing the food out but while you wait they bring you salad or bread straight away (if it comes with your meal) The food at this place is very, very tasty!! Oh men, I don't even know where to start! My boyfriend and I have been there twice, The last time I went I ordered the steak (medium rare) comes with salad, bread and a bake potato ;) I have no words to describe how delicious it was! The steak was perfectly cooked just how I asked (medium rare) they got it perfectly right. My boyfriend ordered the lamb souvlaki came with Greek salad and garlic bread. He said it wad incredible. He had a party in his mouth ;) I have only good things to say about this place. Our lovely Brazilian waitress was very smiley and helpful too. Even the owners ( an old lady and her husband) came out to asked us how it was and wave goodbye as we left. Family run restaurant. Like I said it's not fancy but pretty amazing when it comes to food. Decided to try out Double DD on a recommendation from another friend/reviewer. Went for lunch with 2 other co-workers and ordered their lunch special of Baked Lasagna with salad & garlic bread ($7.95 - great value) as did my other friends. We also ordered a Kalamari appie. The food and portions are pretty good, the salad had nice chunks of peeled cucumber and chunks of tomatoes and the dressing wasn't overly applied. The Kalamari was also very good and a nice size for an appetizer, it was a bit over salted on some pieces but not enough to kill us. The lasagna was a nice size and very good, with a nice cheesy layer on top and pleanty of noodles & meat sauce (veggie sauce is also available). The garlic toast was nice and crispy and not super oily and you can taste the garlic flavour. Overall, an enjoyable and filling lunch and not hard on the wallet. read more

We were disappointed with our recent visit to this restaurant. The place was crowded and our server was extremely frustrated and kept forgetting to come back to us with stuff we had ordered. They ran out of chops and two of our group had to settle for the lamb shoulder. The general feeling was that it was dry and not very tasty. The pizza looked good. read more

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. I've always gotten their greek dishes, which have always left me impressed, especially their Moussaka and Ravioli! The service is simple and friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the serving sizes huge. The restaurant is on the small side, I would recommend getting seats on the second half (walk past the till) as the side by the door can be a bit noisy. I have never dined here but always get delivery and I've never been disappointed. I order the chicken pita, beef pita, lamb pita, roasted potatoes (soooo good) and the most excellent calamari. OK, so I checked out some reviews on other sites because yelp only had one and it just too easily could have been an owner. Anyway, I so badly wanted this to become my regular pizza joint and was really excited about how good the pizza looked when it arrived. I ordered the Double DD pizza special because there were so many funky options on their menu I just couldn't decide. I cannot believe how bland the pizza was considering how many different toppings were on the thing. Now I'm not going to complain too much about the fact that the bottom of the pizza was soggy when it arrived because I got delivery(although that doesn't seem to happen with pizza from other places), but I am going to say that the crust was not good. The only reason why I'm giving this place 2 stars is because all the reviews online talk about this place like a gem in my neighbourhood, so I plan on giving it another chance...just not on the pizza. read more

What a delightful experience! The food was spot on. I've never had fluffy tzatziki, the texture and flavor were to die for. And their prawn and mushroom salad was deceptively filling.
