WOW, this place is amazing! This is located in Kalahari Resort. We were not staying at the resort, but wanted to visit to see what the hype was about. We walked around the resort, but was most amazed by this restaurant, which was a different vibe. It definitely is an elevated atmosphere that welcomes everyone. As soon as you walk in, you here live music from a piano player singing classic songs. Our hostess was so polite and patient! Our server, Magda, was so attentive, kind, and helpful! She suggested delicious food and wine options. I now want to look for the pinot noir she suggested to buy the bottle! We received a complimentary loaf of bread as a starter that was one of the most soft and tasty breads I've had in a long time! Fortunately, Magda saw that we liked it so much, and provided another one! For food, I highly recommend a steak with the trio sauces. The mushroom sauce was my favorite, but I would have never known if Magda hadn't recommended us to try three of them for a cheaper price! We didn't have any room for desert and even had left over food, but when I go back next time I will have to try the smoky old fashion for the experience and will save room for dessert! read more

Steak was cooked perfectly to temp; however, it was so under seasoned that it was practically inedible. The mushrooms that were added tasted bland. Again, no seasoning at all. The creamed corn tasted... odd is the only way to describe it. Brussel sprouts were simply steamed and covered in basic butter. Again, no seasoning. Even the lobster mac & cheese tasted bland. Everything tasted like basic cafeteria food. Really sad given what they're charging for the meal. We definitely won't be back. read more

Tonight we were there for my husband's birthday and for the best prime rib you could ever have. Alexandra was our server. Such a beautiful young lady with an enthusiastic, positive, how can I help you attitude. Very attentive to our needs and somehow knew when we needed something. Her timing is impeccable. Granted she had other tables to take care of, and still gave us her full attention when we asked for something. I say this because we only had to ask once and she brought everything to us. Now for the downside. The prime rib was not as good quality as we had previously experienced. We told Alexandra about it and being the kind, helpful young lady she is, she profusely apologized and got Marconi, the manager right over to our table. We spoke to him for a few minutes as he attentively listened to our concerns. We were provided with another cut, same result. Alexandra was advised of the outcome of the second cut, said she would talk to her manager. We said it wasn't necessary but she spoke to him and as a result we were taken care of. We know neither one of them prepared our food and it wasn't their fault it wasn't to our liking. When a customer receives this amount of concern for their purchase, it only makes sense we will go back and perhaps try something different. Had reservations for 7pm and checked in at 6 and went to the bar. At 7 we went to get our table and the hostesses tried to seat us back in the bar. We said no and told one of the managers and he was just as clueless as the hostesses. All they wanted to do was play with the iPad's. They were actually seating walk ins before the reservation. Finally got a table and Kyle our server was great. We all ordered and the runner had no clue what she was doing and when we finally received our entrees one of the steaks was over cooked and another one was under. A manager came over and she was just as clueless as the hostesses. She did offer to recook the steaks but we wanted out of there. Would never go back read more

Our meal was great and our waiter, Ian, was knowledgeable and kind. We were a group of six adults and six kids and they put us in a private room which was really wonderful to be able to enjoy our meal and not worry about the amount of patience that our children had for staying in their chairs... we were there enjoying drinks, meal, and dessert for almost three hours. The food was wonderful including the sides, service was great, cocktails were wine options were great also as well as the last bottle specials. Food was amazing, drinks were amazing, atmosphere was amazing. Unfortunately our service wasn't up to par, but all in all would still come back. We got calamari as a starter and it was delicious. Has these little fried pepper pieces that compliment the dish. As a group of two, we split the New York steak and got the three sides Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, and creamed corn. I had an espresso martini that was probably best I've ever had. The fire was on in the foyer and the tree was lit, it was a very cozy and classy dinner. Again, the service was our biggest drawback. Our server didn't even take our drink order and we had to ask for waters after our bread was delivered to the table. There were a couple of other things but I won't turn this into a rant about the server, I know things are hard on the industry right now. I would def eat here again. read more

We came in on a Sunday night and had no idea what to expect...it was on a whim but I had been craving a good steak dinner and we were not able to get into Perry's the night before. First, we came in right at 5 p.m. We were cordially greeted by the hostess and were also welcomed by some staff who saw us as we walked in. The ambiance is pleasant, with darker shades and subdued lighting (just the way I like it). We had very attentive service. Other reviewers have commented on the wine list - I think there is something for everyone there although they could do with some tweaks to the wine-by-the-glass menu but I was happy with my selections. They have interesting cocktails and a substantial selection of bourbons and an array of wines by the bottle. Foodwise, I started with oysters and was not disappointed. Quite flavorful oysters from Prince Edward Island and garnishes were up to the mark. Next, a tasty tuna tartare served with the fried wonton strips just the way I prefer them. The wedge salad was perfect. At this point, the bread and butter were brought out. Heavenly warm and fresh with wonderful texture and the butter was herbed and served spread on its own board. Then the steak came out - filet mignon cooked perfectly medium rare topped with crawfish etouffee. I couldn't believe how perfectly tender and luscious it was (I like steak, but I'm usually not raving over a steak). There were several desserts from which to choose and we stuck with the creme brulee since my partner is allergic to chocolate but there is something there for a chocolate lover to be sure. I loved the fresh berries atop a perfectly torched custard served in a large ramekin (ideal for sharing). A finishing touch was the Bailey's coffee with dessert. We were truly satisfied with the meal and service and would return. read more

Prime Rib was very good, tender and cooked to perfection. Hash browns were a nice change of pace from the standard baked potato. Our waiter Will did an excellent job of explaining the options, and made sure that my dairy Allergies were communicated to the kitchen and explained why certain options were not possible. read more

The ambiance is very calm and relaxing but it is a little bit dark in there. The service was good. Our server Tawny was very attentive. The food was good. This Kalahari steak house exceeded our expectations. Our server brought out the most fresh loaf of sourdough bread with house made butter topped with Hawaiian sea salt. Holy. Cow. All 6 of us agreed it was the best bread we've ever had. We started with a side of fries, they're fresh, hot and delicious. Beware: the Caesar salad comes with fresh, whole anchovies on top. For my main course I had the blue cheese and pear filet. It was cooked perfectly medium rare and I'm obsessed with the blue cheese and pear combo. We also had a side of mashed potatoes that came with roasted garlic cloves on top and we tried their side of hash browns that were out of this world. We loved the ambiance (a Frank Sinatra cover singer named Ken), the service was excellent and the meals was one of the best I've ever had. read more

Just don't bother. It was awful ... I mean, REALLY awful! There were 8 of us, 5 entrees were we're not edible. Three of us ordered Garlic Shrimp, it smelled SO bad we had to leave the room for a minute. When another party was seated in the room, someone exclaimed "What is that SMELL?!" Took one bite, can't even describe it. No idea what it was sautéed in, but it wasn't garlic. One of our guests paid another $20 to eat some of her salad. The music makes the ambience very nice however it is quite pricey (like the rest of the resort) Even though they require reservations it takes quite some time to be seated and acknowledged by the service. The bread was delicious as well as the peppers but the steak was not 5 star worthy, honestly you can find better at Texas Roadhouse. A cocktail is $16 which is standard price from what I saw at the spa and bar but should be more like $12. Overall was fine but will not be returning due to the crazy resort prices in the restaurants. read more

Worst steak experience of my life. Four of eight steaks at the table were cooked incorrectly to the point they needed to be sent back. My rare ribeye was so undercooked it couldn't melt the finishing butter and was basically sushi. When sent back for a second attempt at what rare actually means, I was given a steak burnt to a hockey puck. The manager actually told me the chef said "oh yeah I burnt that one". WTF......you sent a $60 steak out for the second time knowing it was cooked incorrectly. Insult to injury the ribeye was too thin to chicken fry. read more

Very disappointed. Have been waiting to try the Kalahari Double Cut restaurant. My sister's birthday seemed like a good event. Three of us ordered very expensive prime cut steaks. I was very disappointed. I been to the best chop houses around the country and world and this was just plain bad. Very dry and lack luster meal. I unfortunately spent 2021 New Year's Eve eating at Double Cut. We paid $150 per plate, with drinks and automatic gratuity added up to $450! The whole experience was just not good. Let me break it down into a few details. Waiter: Looked unprofessional for this caliber of a restaurant, long hair and not clean cut. Seating: Seating is to close and loud due to the amount of kids that were there. Timing: It took them 3 hours to get us through the meal!!! Way to long! Food Quality: Appetizer (hanging Bacon) was good, only complaint would be the whole meal, just to expensive. Steak (8 oz fillet) was good, but not over the top be any means. Drinks: The more you drink the better this meal gets! I suggest you drink as much as you can if you decide to go. Overall, Spend less money and go someplace else like Perry's, or Bobs. For me , it was the highest amount I have ever paid for just average experience . Hell I could have bought a TV for what I paid. Or maybe a 3 day cruise. The food is delicious! We had the crab cakes, hanging bacon, and burnt ends for appetizers, filet mignon, pork chop, and scallops for entrees with lobster Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, and spinach for sides. Everything was delicious. It rivals my favorite restaurant EV. The food is definitely 5 stars, but they need to work on the service. The server was not bad, actually he was very friendly and pretty attentive. But they didn't clear off the table, refill drinks, or brush off the crumbs. They can certainly become a 5-star restaurant with upgraded service. I highly recommend for the food, but don't expect white glove service yet. read more
