The home fries are just as good as the down home service. This is my absolute favorite chill spot. Even when I don't want food, I can chill on the front patio or at the bar. The burgers are better than the burgers on Marshall and 27th. LOL (and that place is walking distance for me, I have to drive to Dot's)

Great place for a dinner with family. Prices are great and wide selection on the menu. We came the week of Thanksgiving and it was packed so service was understandably slow as it would be anywhere this time of year. We really enjoyed our meal here. Highly recommend.

What's not to love? I went to Dot's way back in the day and had to make a stop there right away when I moved back to RVA. Our food was great, service was attentive and prompt, prices are reasonable and the vibe is still super cool, even after all these years! Thanks for still being here Dot's!

Cocktail menu. Didn't have a lot to offer. I had the vodka limeade and didn't like it. Too sour with the fresh lime juice

I had a beyond burger and it was fine. The fries were average. My child had grilled cheese and fries nothing spectacular. The place is small and cluttered. It's cute but over packed. The waitress was nice and there was not a long wait for a Saturday afternoon. I would not come back though. Ever! There is no diversity. At all

Stopped here as it's a DDD! Food was ok. Dessert was better. I was puzzled by the receipt as it had a meals tax. Ive never heard of that, made the bill almost ten percent higher. Service was not the greatest either, I went the last half of my meal without a drink refill.

This place wasn't at all what we expected. We went because of seeing it on tv with Guy Fieri. I'll start with the one positive: The staff was extremely nice and attentive. That was the only thing we liked. Both mine and my husband's eggs were cold. The breakfast potatoes were cold. The corned beef hash wasn't at all like I have had anywhere else. It was more like two little burgers that tasted like meatloaf with green pepper. We really wanted to like this place but unfortunately all we liked were the people.

Finally made it to Dot's Back Inn! Food's good, with a nice varies menu. The service was good, but boy o boy, is it loud! Parking can be tricky along MacArthur

Great service. Lots of food. Plenty of shrimp on the potatoes. Husband got the sailor sandwich as it was a recommendation from server. He enjoyed it.

This one falls under the category of "how could I have gone THIS LONG without writing a review of this place?" Dot's Back Inn is a dining mainstay in the Bellevue area. The food is always good -- have never had anything I was disappointed by. Over the years I have had burgers, fish, fancy salads, great sandwiches, and awesome specials. As time goes on I will come back and update my write up to talk about other meals, but today I need to hit on a special one. RIGHT NOW THEY HAVE SOFT SHELL CRABS! AT LUNCH! This seasonal delicacy is only available for a few weeks or so each year. And a lot of restaurants go and ruin things by putting their own touch on these babies -- thai softshells, tex mex softshells, whatever. Such approaches completely ignore the beauty of simplicity -- buttermilk soaked, breaded, fried. Stick it on a sandwich, a benedict, or a fork. Dot's understands -- and boy are these things great. Delicately seasoned, good tartar sauce if you like, nice bread that doesn't fall apart under it. And generous tots or wedges... see the pics. Also on the table today was cajun red beans and rice with andouille. Also very good, but the spice level was too low to call it cajun. Still delish. Good service, lousy street parking (it's a busy area) and a real neighborhood vibe. Happy hour golden bevs are $2 for 10 oz draft, $3 domestics, $4 mixed.

Cheese burger and fries

My wife and I stopped in on a road trip because we saw it on Triple D. My wife got a cheese burger with fries and I got the meat loaf special with collards and mash potatoes. Overall the food was great. The only complaint we had was that her burger bun was kinda soggy so she ended up not finishing it. We loved the old school atmosphere and vibes. Will definitely stop by again when we are passing through.

This past Thursday evening, the gals and I shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio and the shrimp fried green tomatoes. For my entree, I opted for the mushroom tortellini which was phenomenal. The staff was kind enough to seat us earlier than our original reservation, which was a really nice touch and much appreciated. I was also happy to see a decent number of gluten-free options. While the main dishes are a bit limited, most of the sides are gluten-free. Now for the food, the crispy chicken sandwich was the highlight of the meal. The Smashburger was also delicious. I ordered the rockfish without the bun, while my dad had it with the bun, and both were great. The beet salad was fresh and flavorful, and the fries were solid. The mac & cheese, unfortunately, was not good at all. On the plus side, the hot cider was delicious. Desserts were a bit of a mixed thoughts. The bread pudding was definitely the best one we tried and really enjoyable. However, the chocolate peanut butter pie was a big disappointment. It was extremely hard and cold (not pie texture), the peanut butter wasn't creamy at all, and it honestly tasted more like a protein bar loaded with sugar. The crust also tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while--disappointing. Overall, we still enjoyed our visit and many of the dishes were great, but the dessert experience could definitely be improved.

We started off with the crab fritters for our first course, which was done with the right amount of crispiness and flavor I was honestly impressed. We order cocktails too, but after ordering a couple different drinks we both agreed we weren't enthusiastic about them as most drink drinks felt pretty weak. For the second course, I ordered the steak and she ordered the braised beef short rib, which, after trying both I wish I had gone with the short rib, I was honestly jealous that I didn't order that too. For the third course we finished with dessert she ordered the chocolate mousse, which was honestly some of the best mousse I've had in a while. I ordered the tiramisu and this was probably the best tiramisu I've had; I wish I had ordered it three or four times. Revel has good vibes and the staff is really nice. It's a small spot (parking can be tight), but definitely feels really homey. I definitely plan on coming back for the food and that tiramisu.

The bartender Luke was on his game and got me water and coffee quickly there after. The place was busy but everything seemed to work like a well oiled machine. The house coffee is solid and they did have a cold coffee option. The spicy bloody mary with the bacon was one of my favorites - definitely a more homemade vibe which was what I prefer. I also got their current jello shot (lemon and lavender) which was refreshing and big for $3. The menu had a bunch of items that caught my eye - breakfast burrito, pancake stacks, eggs benedict, etc. I went with the breakfast burrito with a side of sweet potato has. The burrito was great - filling but not super large, though I would have loved a tiny bit more jalapenos personally. Even without a meat, it was tasty and well balanced, especially with the side sriracha sour cream. I definitely need to come back to try the chicken salad or grilled cheese or some pancakes because everything looked fantastic. Service was quick, food was great, prices were solid. They have outdoor seating, bar seating, and friendly folks working. I'll definitely be back.

I've always had a pleasant time dining in, the staff has always been attentive to refill my drinks, and they always are willing to entertain a conversation with me, or entertain me with their conversation. Beauvine, in my opinion, is a staple of Richmond's food scene and is a MUST to anyone new or visiting the city and wants a fantastic, and reasonably priced, burger.
