I was very excited to try this place, tequila is my jam, but unfortunately I think it is greatly overrated. The prices of drinks are wildly expensive, though they are pretty stiff. I had the Coco Chanel, which was delicious ($21), surprisingly not too sweet. Didn't like the orange in the Dosalas margarita ($23). They are pretty generous but still quite a sticker shock. For food, we started with the Brazilian cheese bread (GF) and when they brought 6 pieces, my partner and I both laughed. They were dense and delicious, but for $10 I expected more than 6. We also split the paella (GF), which was a very generous serving and could have served 3-4 people for $80, however, the meat in the clams and mussels was very minimal, so that was disappointing. As someone who is celiac, I am pleased to share that I experienced no adverse reactions/symptoms of cross-contamination. The restaurant itself is very pretty, but we were seated in the bar area despite a pretty wide open restaurant, so we felt very exposed with the low backed bench seats and bar chairs that are a tight squeeze. We are tall people so we felt like we were sticking out like a sore thumb, plus we were celebrating our engagement so we were hoping for a cozier, more private booth. The music is pretty loud and while our server was nice, as were the bar staff and cooks, it felt like the overall vibe is trying too hard to be high end and it didn't feel "genuine". They serve the creamer in a sort of shot glass and it spills everywhere. We ordered our food when the long awaited coffee was delivered. Again, we sat there waiting on coffee in the meantime. Food came out and was fantastic. My companion had the avocado toast and I had the carnitas. The views were beautiful and we were very happy with the taste and presentation of our meals. Well done kitchen staff. Wait staff: while y'all are beautiful(is this an actual requirement to work here?) your long, and I mean veryyy long nails are tacky and should not be allowed in food service. Long nails in my plate and in my food is just Gross. We all know what's under those claws. Put a little hustle in your service, and less on your beauty standards. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent visit to Dosalas left me frustrated and disappointed enough to speak up. From the moment we arrived, the experience went downhill. The receptionist barely acknowledged us, didn't offer a greeting, and acted as though we were inconveniencing her by checking in. There was no warmth or professionalism -- just a cold, indifferent attitude that set the tone for the entire evening. This was our first visit to this restaurant and it was a very disappointing experience. We had to wait a long time to be acknowledged upon arrival. There doesn't seem to be a designated host. Once seated, the wait time for service was very long and just continued to disintegrated from there. Probably the worst service we have ever experienced on the waterfront. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. We headed upstairs to sit near outside . It was a mildly rainy day and very cloudy. It was warm inside. Even though we sat at a booth next to where they had the window open, the rectangular fire pit in the middle of the room kept us warm. I also want to note that there are seats around the fire pit, so it was possible to be even warmer, but I wanted the view. The menu includes all kinds of delicious things, so I had a hard time choosing. My colleague got the Ceviche and Empanadas, which she said she always gets. I ordered the Empanadas and Lamp Chops. Both the Empanadas and Lamb Chops canes with the most delicious pickled onions. They were delicious with the food and by themselves. The food was delicious! I can't wait to go back and try more. The food was expensive, but worth it for me. I have never tasted lamb chops that good. The chimichurri sauce that it came with was the icing n the cake, so to speak. The Empanadas were delicious as well. This would be a 5 star review if the service was better. The servers were nice and checked on us quite a bit. We were never asked if we wanted drink refills, my colleagues ceviche didn't come out until we were done eating and asked for it to go, and when I asked for a box for my lamb chops, they gave me a box that didn't fit them, despite packaging the ceviche in a box that would have fit the lamb chops. Stopped in for a few drinks and was really pleased with the ambiance, decor and service! The bartender/server was super sweet and had great recommendations! Had the old fashioned which was served in a glass box with smoke (fun!). The Coco Chanel drink was pink, girly, sparkly and so yummy! We've been here 4/5 times and every time it's been great. It's definitely spendy but a nice treat. Brunch was delicious, but my favorite here is truly dinner. That's the full experience... we order the tapas but also the tomahawk is my husband's favorite. It is exceptional from the presentation to the flavors in your mouth. Located on the Vancouver waterfront, Dosalas offers an amazing view of the Columbia River. And, if you're dining in the summer, the patio is an amazing spot to dine. Service here is kind and fairly quick. When I came with my boyfriend, we only came here for drinks and some small bites, so we sat at the bar. Their drinks menu has a wide selection with fun cocktails offered as well. The drinks are pretty good. We got the empanadas, pork belly skewers, ceviche, and mushroom medley. Dosalas is a great place to come with friends and loved ones. I have to say the majority of the stars has to go to our servers. My lady and I came in on cinco de mayo and on a busy time so I expected delays. Even tho, we still got served with welcoming smiles. I've been cooking in this industry for a while working with numerous servers and I can say that our specific server liked her job. And that played through in her actions and made the whole stay worth it. Now the food, my lady got the forbidden rice and salmon and I got the New York. The salmon dish was very not well thought out, it was just swimming in the vinaigrette that was simply sweat, with the rice soaking all that up, the dish doesn't shine on it own. Along with the roasted cauliflower that was definitely steamed. And the salmon crispy skin was not facing up, that skin is beautiful and needs to be shown in my opinion. The New York was obviously cut in half before plating, maybe to check the temperature? Maybe thought that one piece was done than the other and cooked the other piece that was less done. That would Explain why one half of the steak is a beautiful medium and the other is well done. I know that the end cuts of steak are obviously more done than the center, but to have half of the steak way over is an issue. I told the server I would like to change my choice and went with the braised entre. The kitchen supervisor gave it to us and made it seem like nothing is wrong to begin with. The appetizers and dessert were definitely on point aside from the tuna crudo, I expected bright flavors but it was bland. The street corn, flan and tiramisu were absolutely delicious. Summary of this detailed personal opinion is that this place holds a lot of great potential. And yes, bear in mind it was a busy time we came in. The salmon needs to be reworked because it's just confusing and New York just needs to be cooked better and left whole so I can see it's a New York with that beautiful maillard. If you call yourself upscale dining/ fine dining, a high expectation is expected to meet that title. read more

Just amazing! After dinner we stopped in to check the place out because we've been hearing some good buzz around town. I was already stuffed but everything on the menu looked phenomenal so we had to order something! Sat up at the bar and we were very well taken care of. The bartender, (Alex?) I hope I remembered his name because he was awesome. We also talked to a female blonde longish haired bartender that was also beyond great... a manager came over with roll ups for us right on time, servers were all talking to us, pretty much every staff member in the place took the time to talk to us and it felt so welcoming. The place is seriously decadent on the eyes. Beautiful. Clean, happy, and exactly what we needed tonight. We had a salad with roasted pepitas, mango, jicama, and the most amazing salad dressing. But the best thing of all, so good I'll probably dream about it tonight, the pork belly skewers!! So tender, the sauce was like heavenly, and the pickled onions and arugula just all hit like an explosion of happiness. A year ago, on my wife and my anniversary , we tried coming here. We had an uncharacteristic experience. This time was so good. Staff immediately greeted us at the door. Seated us outside in a terrific table with a great view of the river. Food was delicious. Ambiance was great. We had very tasty beverages. And they accommodated our four year old wonderfully. I imagine it gets crazy busy on Fri and Sat and recommend coming here when it's not as busy so you can get the most bang for your buck. It's a bit a pricy and I can see why-ambiance is top notch! Very instagram ish. Love the decor and textures. All the folks here were super nice and if I lived closer I'd be a regular. I was so excited to try this place. It always looks like so much fun and the food looks so delicious. I came in super optimistic and hopeful. I even told my other friends, we gotta go to this place. But upon coming in, the hostess took her time getting to me. No one else was in the lobby with me and I wasn't sure if I should have spoken up. But I was standing there for a little bit before she talked to me. I told her there was a reservation and she sent me upstairs. The music was really loud. I was trying to tell the server the name under the reservation and it took several tries before I was seated. I know I was a little early but it took a really long time before another server came around. To my confusion, people were lead and seated along with me at the table who I didn't know. After talking to the staff, they moved me inside to a table to wait for my party. Then when my party had arrived, we were then moved back outside to our original table, because we were supposed to be outside I think. There was a lot happening and a lot of confusion. The outside bar area was very crowded, loud, and cramped. I've never been here before this experience, but my friends were all commenting on how the portions have severely gotten smaller. My plate was huge so I didn't have any comments on that. I understand that the food doesn't come out all together. But it was kind of ridiculous that the rest of my table all got their food and then some, their second to third round of drinks, and I was still sitting there. I considered just telling the server to cancel my order or even asking them to just box it up because everyone at my table had finished eating and we were just waiting on me. I thought they forgot about my food. I had a few bites and it was good, not great. I wouldn't wait that long for the Yucatán game hen with saffron rice again. Drinks just tasted like juice, did not feel a buzz from a $19 cocktail and service was splotchy and not very considerate. It just seemed like they didn't really care. The ambiance is picture perfect. We reserved a table for 2 at 6:30 pm. We got there at 6:35 pm, and after a few min the hostess down stairs said our table was ready, the staff has an ear piece for communication. When we get to the second floor the host was not ready for us, neither was our table. There was some miscommunication there despite their earpieces. He tells us we can wait at the bar and get some drinks. The bar tender checks our ID, and my husband use to have long hair so she says, this is a girl. Her lack of wokeness was astounishing. Check again, he's a beautiful person. I think she felt the awkwardness because she runs off to her screen and doesn't come back to offer us menus or a drink. This alone lowers my rating. We're finally taken to our table where our delightful waitress takes care of us. We ordered the sopes which are delicious! The baked queso which I don't recommend because it is quite literally a baked piece of cheese, not Tex mex gooey queso. So unfortunately it hardened and was no longer to my liking. These two appetizers were ALOT of food. We ordered the fettuccini pomedero w grilled shrimp which was a good plate of pasta. We also got the margarita flight. Came on Valentine's day with a reservation. It was very busy which me and my partner understood- and the lobby was packed with other reservations and walk-ins. We were sat 10 minutes after our reservation time which was no issue at all. The issue started with wait times. Our server, who was absolutely lovely and took no part in the exceeding wait times let us know they were a bit behind but we expected that with how busy they were. Every time he came to the table he expressed how sorry he was which was appreciated but at the same time we just wanted to leave by the 1hr 1/2 mark. It took 45 minutes for our first drink to come, another 45 for our appetizer, and another hour or more for our mains to hit the table (and compared to previous visits, the food was lacking in comparison). I have been here before and it was a lovely experience with excellent food and service- but today was just a fail. Spending 3 months hours at a restaurant and not getting home until 12:45am when your reservation was at 9:45pm is not how I was looking to spend the rest of my Valentine's day. read more

This is arguably Portland Metro's swankiest spot. There is no value here, do not come if you're watching your budget: either have the means or pretend like you do. And most are not here to simply satisfy their hunger, this is a place to be seen, there were throngs of super tight dresses like you'd see at the club. Dosalas offers an excellent view, especially if you sit outside. That said, most dishes were very good, a few just okay, but none bad. Again, it's not the type of place where you ponder, "should I get this or that?" You get both without hesitation. I started with their signature drink, the $22 (not a typo) Vintage Fashion. On the ooh and ah factor alone, it's worth it one time. They do use single barrel Four Rose bourbon, but in a cocktail the premium is usually lost. My favorite dish was the least expensive item on the menu: the Brazilian Cheese bread, yum. The baked queso and mushroom medley were very good. They'll ask if you'd like more bread, but do they charge? Who cares, because you're flush with cash. The short rib sopes were wonderful, the crab toast and tuna tostadas good, but not great. The only 'meh" item were the empanadas. And the only dislike were the round tortilla chips that accompanied one of the dishes, they were topped with an off-putting spice. The Grilled Octopus is the one we hardly touched, not sure if it was because we were full or because of taste. Lastly, the no crust cheesecake and creamy flourless chocolate torte were above average. The server was a salesman, he will quickly steer you towards the triple digit items on the menu. On that note, I find paella to be almost always overrated, so go for the 48 oz. $180 Tomahawk Ribeye if you want to really splurge. The salesperson's schtick was a bit too much at times, dialing it down just a tad is recommended. He just tried too hard if that's a thing. Great spot for a Bday, the sparklers on the desserts are a fun touch. read more
