Short Rib Sopes

Dosalas is an upscale restaurant with a Latin-inspired menu. The space is designed with more flashy, luxurious decor and has a lively atmosphere. I would recommend getting a reservation for dinner, especially if you are wanting to sit on the covered and heated patio with a view of the waterfront. We were seated right at our reservation time and our server was very friendly. We came during happy hour and started with the classic margaritas. The margs were well-balanced and were a standard drink size, which is appreciated for a happy hour deal. The happy hour steak nachos are some of my favorite nachos I've ever had. The Serrano queso was life-changingly good with the heat from the Serrano chili. I also loved the Peruvian spiced chips, which had the perfect crisp and added a punch of tangy, spicy flavor. The shrimp tacos were great and I loved the fresh crema they came with. The short rip sopes were tender, juicy, and pilled high with meat and the same crema as the tacos.

Great food and service. Celebrating milestone birthday with friends on a perfect day. Food is tasty and drinks are cold.

Mimosa Flight - prosecco featured flight with classic, strawberry + pineapple, guava + oj, passion fruit + grapefruit

We skipped full entrées and ordered small plates instead: empanadas, street corn, and cheese bread. The empanadas served with a cilantro crema came out first and they were incredible. Crispy, flavorful, and easily my favorite thing we ordered. Then the Mexican Street Corn arrived. My friend tried it first and was blown away. I was skeptical because it is just corn, but that corn was slamming. Perfectly grilled, buttery, with a hint of lime, fresh with a slight crunch, and served with tortilla chips for scooping. It absolutely hit. The drinks were a whole experience. I ordered Tiffany & Co which was a cocout rum, blue curacao, fresh lime, blanc de bleu cuvee mousseux with a pineapple foam and a pina cola shooter. It came out in a Tiffany-style box with beautiful presentation. It was blue, creamy, slightly sweet, almost piña colada vibes, and exactly what I wanted. My friend ordered the mimosa flight. Warning that these are not small pours. They are full glasses. Stunning presentation, but definitely share if you are not a really big drinker. They forgot the cheese bread at first, and when it finally came out, it just did not compare to the other dishes. We mentioned it, and they graciously let us return it. Instead, we ordered another round of empanadas, which was absolutely the right decision. We went around 11 and it was quiet, but by the time we left the place was packed. Great service, fun atmosphere, and memorable presentation. We will absolutely be back. I think we found a new favorite spot.

I had really high hopes as they put so much into decorating. The fireplace, bar and outdoor patio are gorgeous! When you walk in at first downstairs it's confusing if we were supposed to wait for someone but another customer told us to just go upstairs because nobody was coming down to get people. But there are cute swings for your photo op. We decide to sit outside. By the "window" (there is no window it's open air) was really cold. We moved to the other side and it was really hot. I guess I felt like Goldilocks I think the long fire table may have been perfect but I didn't want to move again. The guacamole and roasted corn were huge portions. We also had the nachos. Everything was very good I'd get the guacamole probably every time. It was very good just the avocados were not ripe. My friend ordered a coffee she said it was great too. The bad... the service was HORRIBLE! And not because she was mean or rude, she was very sweet. She was just never there. As other people left we watched them frustrated as they never came to collect the bill or dirty plates. We had to waive through the glass to , get utensils & plates, refills, the bill and to pay the bill. At this point we were the last ones there so there was no excuse to be completely ignored. Saving grace that will make me try this place again, besides the guacamole was a bartender named Adrain. He had just come on shift. He sat some people near us, picked up dirty dishes that had been there about 2 hours. Stopped to check on us and we told him about our experience. He was so nice, he listened to us and warmly invited us back again. Thank you, Adrian! All of this was happening while the "manager" was sitting at a table on the other side of the glass eating and working. He was oblivious to the poor service and the dirty dishes left on several of the tables.

Loved the ambiance, decor, outside views from the patio. We walked-in, no reservations on a Sunday evening. Service was great and the staff was attentive. We sat in the patio looking at the amazing sunset. It was chilly by the windows; and decided to move closer to the gas fireplace ...that thing makes the place close by HOT! We ordered a Mango Rumba which was disappointing - felt watered down. Sabrina was gracious to make another one...but still there was something missing in the drink. I think for $19, we should have gotten a better drink. For food, we ordered the $30 Clams & Mussels which were seasoned well with a good potion. Overall, great place for a date, gathering, and for views.

Great spot for an anniversary, birthday, or girls night out. Service was great, our server checked in on us frequently. Portions are huge and drinks are so yummy. The mango rhumba is my go to drink. It's fruity and has a little spice. Tried the beef rib this time and it did not disappoint. The beef was tender and the sides complimented it perfectly.

I love this restaurant. It's probably the nicest, most aesthetic (while also being good) restaurant we have in the Oregon/ Vancouver area besides Departure. Good for celebrations. Stunning decor, very maximalist. Lots of good photos ops, but also good (and pretty) food and drink. Nice that it's on the waterfront if you want to sit on the patio for the water views.

Atmosphere- modern and creative decor that changes throughout the restaurant. A majority of the seating is indoors, but an outdoor patio is available with heaters during the colder temps. Food- Always flavorful, on point, and presented with flair and creativity. Drinks- oh my word! Tasty, and also presented in very creative ways. It's absolutely worth the wait to sit with a view of the water. The service is amazing. Everyone is friendly and helpful!

Citrus Salad
Bailey N.

The place is beautiful, the server was attentive but not hovering, and the food is fantastic. We opted to go for several small plates and every single item we ordered was great. We tried the pork belly skewers, the citrus salad, the baked queso, Brussels sprouts, crab toast, and more. A fantastic evening and we'll definitely be going back

Donna D.

My first visit and I'm sold! You can't beat the view, plus the drinks, service and the food was chef's kiss. The serving size was great and worth it for fresh ingredients. I wish I lived in the area so I can frequent it more often.

Michael W.

Brunch was very flavorful, just enough spiciness. Arugula is underrated in breakfast foods...just saying. Coffee with infused tequila is the bomb! The mimosa flight is a must! Be prepared to be dazzled with literal glitter! Service was excellent. Checked in and refilled coffee when needed and requested! This is a swanky place. I feel like there should be a live DJ here 24/7. See photos.

The area has developed quickly and having grown up nearby and moved away years ago, it's amazing to see what's happened along here. Prices - well, everyone has their hand out along here. We were in town somewhat last minute staying at Hotel Indigo. The hotel provides $10 drink coupons so we decided to drop in for an impromptu drink while planning our dinner strategy. It was already 7p so no view but live music and a nice buzzy ambiance. Wait staff were fast and friendly, and before we knew it two delicious cocktails were in front of us. At the same time, I overheard the waitress at the table beside us saying that food could be ordered from El Gaucho downstairs. So we asked for a menu and started perusing. If you don't know El Gaucho it's a classic steak restaurant with lots of cuts and sizes, a sprinkling of seafood, the usual salads, and tableside this and that. A notch above Ruth's Chris, Morton's or The Capital Grille but with Peter Luger Manhattan prices. Yes, that's right, Manhattan prices in Vancouver. WA. The Couv is all grown up. Or at least trying to be, Like Witness Tree, El Gaucho has a mandatory 20% gratuity regardless of party size. Theoretically this shouldn't be an issue if you know restaurant culture and tip appropriately but I think a mandatory fee rubs many wrong to assume service will always be at that level. And on top of very high prices. A $72 6oz filet is $86, so those 8 bites better be damn good. That said, we ordered oysters, a filet, seafood pasta, and wine. The wine list was decent but not as extensive for a premium steak restaurant. Wines had the typical markup which meant $20-35+ per glass. Both the pasta and steak were good but - and this may sound picky - at $72 for 6 ounces of steak (a bar of soap) I expect perfection which means medium rare throughout. The steak was medium in some parts. If I can achieve medium rare throughout at home it should be possible here. So here's the math (rounded) for those interested. Total bill: $295. $225 food and drinks, $45 service fee (mandatory 20%), and $24 tax (8.8%). Interestingly, the 20% service charge is taxed which means we actually paid $49 or 28.8%. Had I been given the choice of my own 20% tip it would be applied to food and drink and a slightly lower bill. Not a huge deal but these are the little details - call it "nickel and diming" patrons - that rub many wrong. One note - another server came to our table before our food arrived and placed a steak in front of me. Before he could place the other dish I told him it wasn't our order. He picked up the steak and delivered to another table. In most restaurants - and certainly in a premium setting - that dish should have been remade. Whether perception or simple hygiene you simply can't do that. All in all, the Witness Tree was a nice spot, with tasty cocktails and ambiance. Prices and service fee will be off putting for some, and not sure this would be my go-to as there are many rooftop / view options nearby.

It was 10 minutes before I went home to the bar to ask for something different - no one came by to ask how things were. The guava choice I picked for the second - not good. Watered down flavors of who knows. The drinks at Wahi Hanna are amazing in comparison - especially with the Dole Whip vibe. The spam fries were $9 for half a can of spam cut up and put in the oven with a side of mayo? The loco moco was promising but tasted like something you'd get at Kenjis - not a Hawaiian spot. I feel like with a lot of tweaks in flavor - this could be a great spot.

Intentionally set earlier in the day understanding the significance of the day. (Been together over 20 years.) When we arrived my husband kindly requested a window table with view of the water. The woman taking the reservation info advised that she would try, but "so busy" etc. We were sat at a half circular booth that was facing water but set back from water. I just want to note there were 7 tables open at window seating. 3 of which were 2 tops. We did have 3, so essentially for us, 4 EMPTY tables could have accommodated our request. 2 remained empty the entirety of our meal. So I just can't understand why this request wouldn't be granted. Waitress we were assigned was amazing. On top of things, refills etc. We got the wing appetizer, cheese curds, and the wedge salad as appetizers. They were all good. The wings I would get with no sauce. The sauce on them was very ketchup reminiscent. For the entrees we both did the steak frites. Fries were amazing. The steak was sooooo tough. Medium rare didn't save them. Our child got the half pizza and demolished. For dessert we got the cookie with ice cream and the valentines special cheesecake. Both were delicious. Overall 3.5. Could use some help at front. If you don't realize you have that many free tables and could easily accommodate a paying customer the table they prefer, it just simply doesn't make sense. At the end, I did ask manager why we wouldn't be able to sit where we requested and there really was just no good reason. It was just a shrug like it was a busy day. Like I guess maybe saving for make believe guests?? LOL unreal. It's not often I would question things. But this was just absurd. Again, I need to say, our waitress was amazing. Food was fine. Just a very weird experience as far as seating. Like who are you saving those seats for?? Anywho. Enjoy!

We waited thinking the food would be quickly replenished, but restocking was consistently slow throughout the entire meal. Even after multiple reminders, they would only bring out very small amounts at a time despite long lines of guests waiting. To their credit, the ambiance was nice. The Mother's Day decorations, live music, and small bracelet gift were thoughtful touches. However, the food quality and service simply did not justify the cost. At $100 per person plus service fees (close to $600 total excluding tips for our group of four), we expected a much more organized and well-stocked brunch experience. The most surprising part was that a steakhouse buffet didn't even include steak. Sadly, this experience made us question whether we'd return for their regular dining service.
