Dosalas is a great place to come with friends and loved ones. I have to say the majority of the stars has to go to our servers. My lady and I came in on cinco de mayo and on a busy time so I expected delays. Even tho, we still got served with welcoming smiles. I've been cooking in this industry for a while working with numerous servers and I can say that our specific server liked her job. And that played through in her actions and made the whole stay worth it. Now the food, my lady got the forbidden rice and salmon and I got the New York. The salmon dish was very not well thought out, it was just swimming in the vinaigrette that was simply sweat, with the rice soaking all that up, the dish doesn't shine on it own. Along with the roasted cauliflower that was definitely steamed. And the salmon crispy skin was not facing up, that skin is beautiful and needs to be shown in my opinion. The New York was obviously cut in half before plating, maybe to check the temperature? Maybe thought that one piece was done than the other and cooked the other piece that was less done. That would Explain why one half of the steak is a beautiful medium and the other is well done. I know that the end cuts of steak are obviously more done than the center, but to have half of the steak way over is an issue. I told the server I would like to change my choice and went with the braised entre. The kitchen supervisor gave it to us and made it seem like nothing is wrong to begin with. The appetizers and dessert were definitely on point aside from the tuna crudo, I expected bright flavors but it was bland. The street corn, flan and tiramisu were absolutely delicious. Summary of this detailed personal opinion is that this place holds a lot of great potential. And yes, bear in mind it was a busy time we came in. The salmon needs to be reworked because it's just confusing and New York just needs to be cooked better and left whole so I can see it's a New York with that beautiful maillard. If you call yourself upscale dining/ fine dining, a high expectation is expected to meet that title. read more

Beautiful restaurant and location on the Columbia River waterfront. Staff were all attentive and kept checking back. We chose a variety of food from the brunch menu--guacamole with chips had nice chunks of avocado instead of being smashed to death! The street corn salsa was supreme with its creamy sauce. Husband had the burger which was huge with poblano peppers and carmelized bacon-cooked and tasted just right! Daughter and friend had chilequiles with shredded chicken which they demolished (yes, that good!) Drinks were served with the shaker so it was essentially two drinks. We didn't have room for dessert but apparently that is available as well! Do give this place a try, you won't regret it! read more

Upon approaching the restaurant, there was a woman outside watering the plants and making sure the restaurant looked good. Upon entering, I was taken aback by the ambiance. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. We headed upstairs to sit near outside . It was a mildly rainy day and very cloudy. It was warm inside. Even though we sat at a booth next to where they had the window open, the rectangular fire pit in the middle of the room kept us warm. I also want to note that there are seats around the fire pit, so it was possible to be even warmer, but I wanted the view. The menu includes all kinds of delicious things, so I had a hard time choosing. My colleague got the Ceviche and Empanadas, which she said she always gets. I ordered the Empanadas and Lamp Chops. Both the Empanadas and Lamb Chops canes with the most delicious pickled onions. They were delicious with the food and by themselves. The food was delicious! I can't wait to go back and try more. The food was expensive, but worth it for me. I have never tasted lamb chops that good. The chimichurri sauce that it came with was the icing n the cake, so to speak. The Empanadas were delicious as well. This would be a 5 star review if the service was better. The servers were nice and checked on us quite a bit. We were never asked if we wanted drink refills, my colleagues ceviche didn't come out until we were done eating and asked for it to go, and when I asked for a box for my lamb chops, they gave me a box that didn't fit them, despite packaging the ceviche in a box that would have fit the lamb chops. I would go back again, but would complain about the service while I'm there. The people that work there are really nice but could do a bit better with service. read more

Located on the Vancouver waterfront, Dosalas offers an amazing view of the Columbia River. And, if you're dining in the summer, the patio is an amazing spot to dine. Service here is kind and fairly quick. When I came with my boyfriend, we only came here for drinks and some small bites, so we sat at the bar. Their drinks menu has a wide selection with fun cocktails offered as well. The drinks are pretty good. We got the empanadas, pork belly skewers, ceviche, and mushroom medley. Just amazing! After dinner we stopped in to check the place out because we've been hearing some good buzz around town. I was already stuffed but everything on the menu looked phenomenal so we had to order something! Sat up at the bar and we were very well taken care of. The bartender, (Alex?) I hope I remembered his name because he was awesome. We also talked to a female blonde longish haired bartender that was also beyond great... a manager came over with roll ups for us right on time, servers were all talking to us, pretty much every staff member in the place took the time to talk to us and it felt so welcoming. The place is seriously decadent on the eyes. Beautiful. Clean, happy, and exactly what we needed tonight. We had a salad with roasted pepitas, mango, jicama, and the most amazing salad dressing. But the best thing of all, so good I'll probably dream about it tonight, the pork belly skewers!! So tender, the sauce was like heavenly, and the pickled onions and arugula just all hit like an explosion of happiness. Went here for my friends birthday and at the price point I really don't think it's worth it. Everything tasted like something you could easily make at home, or could get at 1/2 of the price. Salads were under chopped and under dressed and the chefs choice ceviche was just shrimp. The taste of the food didn't really stand out to justify the premium price. Drinks just tasted like juice, did not feel a buzz from a $19 cocktail and service was splotchy and not very considerate. It just seemed like they didn't really care. The ambiance is picture perfect. We reserved a table for 2 at 6:30 pm. We got there at 6:35 pm, and after a few min the hostess down stairs said our table was ready, the staff has an ear piece for communication. When we get to the second floor the host was not ready for us, neither was our table. There was some miscommunication there despite their earpieces. He tells us we can wait at the bar and get some drinks. The bar tender checks our ID, and my husband use to have long hair so she says, this is a girl. Her lack of wokeness was astounishing. Check again, he's a beautiful person. I think she felt the awkwardness because she runs off to her screen and doesn't come back to offer us menus or a drink. This alone lowers my rating. We're finally taken to our table where our delightful waitress takes care of us. We ordered the sopes which are delicious! The baked queso which I don't recommend because it is quite literally a baked piece of cheese, not Tex mex gooey queso. So unfortunately it hardened and was no longer to my liking. These two appetizers were ALOT of food. We ordered the fettuccini pomedero w grilled shrimp which was a good plate of pasta. We also got the margarita flight. Came on Valentine's day with a reservation. It was very busy which me and my partner understood- and the lobby was packed with other reservations and walk-ins. We were sat 10 minutes after our reservation time which was no issue at all. The issue started with wait times. Our server, who was absolutely lovely and took no part in the exceeding wait times let us know they were a bit behind but we expected that with how busy they were. Every time he came to the table he expressed how sorry he was which was appreciated but at the same time we just wanted to leave by the 1hr 1/2 mark. It took 45 minutes for our first drink to come, another 45 for our appetizer, and another hour or more for our mains to hit the table (and compared to previous visits, the food was lacking in comparison). I have been here before and it was a lovely experience with excellent food and service- but today was just a fail. Spending 3 months hours at a restaurant and not getting home until 12:45am when your reservation was at 9:45pm is not how I was looking to spend the rest of my Valentine's day. read more

We enjoyed our time earlier this afternoon so much, we came back again in the evening. Note that it was Sunday. I imagine it gets crazy busy on Fri and Sat and recommend coming here when it's not as busy so you can get the most bang for your buck. It's a bit a pricy and I can see why-ambiance is top notch! Very instagram ish. Love the decor and textures. All the folks here were super nice and if I lived closer I'd be a regular. The pork skewers paired well with the street corn (packed with a flavorful punch) and you can't go wrong with any of their signature drinks including purple rain, pina colada and margaritas. Good food and the staff are friendly. The interior dining room has a trendy upscale vibe and the covered patio has a great view of the waterfront. I was so excited to try this place. It always looks like so much fun and the food looks so delicious. I came in super optimistic and hopeful. I even told my other friends, we gotta go to this place. But upon coming in, the hostess took her time getting to me. No one else was in the lobby with me and I wasn't sure if I should have spoken up. But I was standing there for a little bit before she talked to me. I told her there was a reservation and she sent me upstairs. The music was really loud. I was trying to tell the server the name under the reservation and it took several tries before I was seated. I know I was a little early but it took a really long time before another server came around. To my confusion, people were lead and seated along with me at the table who I didn't know. After talking to the staff, they moved me inside to a table to wait for my party. Then when my party had arrived, we were then moved back outside to our original table, because we were supposed to be outside I think. There was a lot happening and a lot of confusion. The outside bar area was very crowded, loud, and cramped. I've never been here before this experience, but my friends were all commenting on how the portions have severely gotten smaller. My plate was huge so I didn't have any comments on that. I understand that the food doesn't come out all together. But it was kind of ridiculous that the rest of my table all got their food and then some, their second to third round of drinks, and I was still sitting there. I considered just telling the server to cancel my order or even asking them to just box it up because everyone at my table had finished eating and we were just waiting on me. I thought they forgot about my food. I had a few bites and it was good, not great. I wouldn't wait that long for the Yucatán game hen with saffron rice again. This restaurant is an absolute winner. My husband and I went here during happy hour just to sit on the deck and enjoy a few drinks. We stumbled across it and we are so glad that we did. It's an absolutely beautiful restaurant, but I'm here to tell you about the mussels in cream sauce that they just added to the menu. I was told by our server that it was a new item on the menu and not many people had ordered it and I'm so shocked. It was perfectly executed. The mussels were tender and delicious. The cream sauce was delicate and flavorful and loaded with garlic and herbs. you definitely have to try the mussels in cream sauce. I want to go back for that dish and maybe add pasta to it just to have it as an entrée because it's that good. On my way out I ran into the executive chef and honestly I wanted to hug him. This time around i was a little disappointed i wasn't able to get my hands on the tomahawk steak because they had run out. It was 7 pm so consider going earlier i guess if you want to order that. I had to settle with a ribeye steak which if im being honest the presentation was a little hectic in my opinion. The green stuff is mashed potatoes and it also came with a tiny side of Brussel sprouts. In my opinion there is no worse way to ruin a steak by overdoing the plate with a brunch of crap. Outstanding empanadas--go for the flaky crusts and variety of flavorful interiors. It's a beautiful restaurant with stunning riverside dining. However, it is loud. It's also overpriced. I'll be back for happy hour to see if there's a bit more value than the $80 paella for two (think mostly rice with 3-4 shrimp per person). Service is very professional--I just couldn't hear the conversation and felt like I was straining my voice to be heard. The patio may be a better experience. read more

We had dinner for the first time tonight. Oh. My. Gosh. Amazing!!!! The design of this location is absolutely stunning! I'm an interior designer and was impressed with the fantastic combination of textures, style and pure ambiance. Even the staff was dressed to impress. Now to the food and drinks... I could not have dreamt of a better meal. We started with the Dosalas Chunky guacamole and chips. Probably the best we have ever had, EVER! The flavors would fresh, flavorful and melted in your mouth amazing. Pretty sure my husband and I fought over the last chip and spoonful. We shared the New York Strip Loin. Tender, juicy, packed full of rich flavor. This delicious side of beef was served with creamy mashed potatoes, sautéed mushrooms and brussels sprouts. I'm still in awe of the flavors in each bite. To top it all off, I order 2 signature drinks, the Crazy Stupid Love and finished off with a Classic strawberry margarita. They know how to make drinks!!!! I'm kind of surprised this doesn't have higher reviews. I went here with a friend and we just had some cocktails and beer. I thought it was fantastic. Yes, it is very expensive but I thought the atmospher, service, and views were all amazing...in other words I thought the prices were worth it. I had the Vintage Fashion. Yes, it was $24 but it was fantastic and was also presented in its own applewood smoke box; needless to say it had the 'wow' factor. My friend had a mojito and it was also very good. I thought Dosalasn had a very 'Vegas' feel to it which I really enjoyed, plus it offers great views of the river. We had fun and I'll definitely be going back. If you do decide to go, just be prepared for a little sticker shock. read more
