We saw the prices and thought they must be giving us very little food. How wrong! I couldn't finish my dosa. A dosa is similar to a crepe, and it was perfectly crunchy. Mine was very garlicky. The waitress kindly asked me if I liked garlic before I chose it. Not that it really needs extra flavor, but the dosas also come with great dipping sauces. One is some kind of typical curry kind of thing, the other is a nutty, green dip. Both were great! I'd like to go back and sample their desserts. One bad thing is that there was a drilling sound the entire time we were there. But it was ignorable for me, as everything tastes so good. read more

My friend didn't care for his at all (I tried it and I didn't think it was that good either). Really great food- my boyfriend and I each got a combo meal to be able to try more things in smaller portions and definitely could have gotten away with sharing just one because of how much food we were given (really awesome for leftovers!!) Now one thing that should be clear here is that I do not give a 5 star rating lightly. To earn such a designation takes a bit of uniqueness, charm, and that je ne sais quoi quality that lingers behind in manner that is both subtle and fleeting. But what about Dosa Corner earns such florid prose? It starts with the food. A friend and I managed to take a trip over on a bit of a whim and decided to grab us a bit of dosa and if memory serves there were Samosas involved as well. I got a spinach oriented dosa which turned out to be phenomenal. Not only was the portion more than generous, the flavor vibrant, and the texture spongy, soft, and yet crispy in all the right places. And you can have that same experience for something around 10-15 dollars depending on how much you decide to chow out. I must stress though, it is rather impossible to leave here hungry. The service here is also rather respectable. My friend and I found a seat quickly, and we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The food came out quickly, and I can't think of a moment where had a negative thought of the experience. If you are still reading this I clearly didn't put enough emphasis into the prior paragraphs. Home cooked style Indian food. Is there really anything else to say? Service was excellent, the staff was friendly and helpful with answering questions. The food tasted like grandma made it and sent it home with you after a family dinner. Fluffy parata, fragrant rice, and of course, delicious curry. Everything was right on. The only thing I would change here would be to have meat available! (it is a vegetarian restaurant) but of course that's only my idea. While I was eating, I didn't miss the meat at all. read more

My wife and I had been meaning to try this place. Saw a piece on wsyx6 about it...tried it...loved it! Plus, with my wife being GF makes this an even bigger score. It's casual. The people are very nice and more importantly the food is absolutely delicious! Flavorful and filling and full of personality! So happy we have so many mom and pop places like this along the Bethel and Henderson road corridor. I'm feeling quite spoiled with all the options and this one does not disappoint. The stack of disposable cups with a long, black hair wrapped around it should have tipped me off in the first place. Yet, there I stayed, thinking I'd be rewarded with a delicious Indian meal. Nope. Never happened! Admittedly, I ordered saag paneer, not a more "southern" dish. However, IT WAS DISGUSTING. I literally took 2 bites and couldn't stomach any more. It was bland and soggy with oil, all at the same time. I have no proof, but I believe it was canned saag paneer, because the paneer came in the form of jagged pyramids--and it was completely flavorless. I had also order poori, which I imagined would resemble some kind of bread; nope, the poori was deep-fried and crunchy. Since the aforementioned disposable cups were hairy, I opted for the $1.39 ginger ale...which was a CAN of Canada Dry. Uhhh.... And the food was delivered to our table in styrofoam bowls... Dosa Corner was just way too dumpy, even for me! I will absolutely NEVER go back to Dosa Corner, and I cannot believe that people actually enjoy their food. read more

I just had a very interesting lunch from Dosa Corner. I got a Chana Masala Dosa, which was excellent. I've never had a dosa before, so I didn't know what to expect. I thought it would be a little triangle, but it was HUGE -- like a 12" or 18" long Indian burrito. (To be clear, it tastes nothing like a burrito, but it's a similar tasty-stuff-wrapped-in-something-else concept.) The Chana Masala filling was fresh, bursting with flavor, totally delicious. The spongy pancake-like dosa wrap was also very delicious. I also tasted the Wada, which was good, and the Onion Pakora, which was great but spicier than I expected. Overall, Dosa Corner was a great, easy way to introduce myself to southern Indian cuisine. read more

I can understand how the ratings are so good for Dosa Corner. The food is pretty good, but nothing to rave about in my opinion. The reason for my low rating is mostly for the service and what followed afterwards. There was only one waitress on a Friday night and it was fairly busy. The poor waitress was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. Meanwhile, there's like ten staff in the kitchen hanging around like it's a 4th of July barbecue. That's not a very good image to present especially when the kitchen is visible to the front of the restaurant. What's worse is that I had asked the waitress twice about the ingredients in my dish because I have a food allergy. She assured me everything was okay. After finishing my meal, I had an allergic reaction. Luckily I had an antihistamine with me which helped combat the reaction. My allergies aren't as severe as they used to be. I really should take some kind of action against them, but I've decided not to. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. I sincerely hope that someone wouldn't knowingly give me false information leading me to get hives and swollen lips. I really hope it was just lost in translation or a mistake. Either way I will never eat there again. Please be cautious if you have any food allergies and choose to eat here. It may be a bad a idea. read more

We entered this restaurant at 1 PM today afternoon and were promptly seated. The waiter came to our table only after 25 minutes. We waited for our food for almost 1 hour 15 minutes and still had no sign of food being served. The first dish - punjabi chole that was served almost after 1 hr 20 minutes, did not have any accompanying bread (chapathi) without which the dish is incomplete. The rest of us waited for the dish to come for another fifteen minutes and then received their dishes. By then we were very hungry. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the waiter, he said that the staff was new and didn't know the basics of attending to orders. He didn't apologize for the wait time at all. This is the best in its class if you are looking for South Indian food in Columbus. No other restaurant in Columbus can beat their dosa's! You need to be in at 11 am & lucky to get some fresh Idli's & as for wada...so far no luck. I guess it's hard for indian restaurants to keep up with fresh dishes such as Idli's/wada's unless there is a high turn over! What sucks? ambience, cleanliness ...honestly does not matter to me if they can serve hygienic food & maintain the authentic South Indian taste that most other stupid restaurants fail to!! read more

Poor service. We went here second time based on good taste during our earlier visit. We had very bad experience. We went around 02:00 pm and was asked to take any table, we chose table inside. We're waiting for order to be taken for 10 mins. We asked a person who was serving to take order but he never came back. Then a young lady came to serve another table who came before us, we asked her to take order she also never came back. So we walked off by 02:25 pm. Nobody bothered to stop. Order was never taken. Would never suggest anyone to visit again. I can agree if it was rush, but only two tables were occupied. For the taste they provide I hope they improve their service. read more

I've only gotten to-go orders here so I don't know about the dining experience. It's a hole-in-the-wall restaurant serving vegetarian south Indian food. I don't know much about south Indian food but the flavors here are seem true to a home cooked meal at a home. Indian friends that I know have been here also love this place. The man that always rings me up on the cash register is very friendly. When I went to Dosa Corner for the first time, he recommended the channa masala dosa and I love it so much I've had it multiple times now and haven't tried anything else on the menu except for the occasional mango lassi which is also really tasty. He warns me that this dosa's spicy but I actually wish it would be spicier but no big deal, I still love it. The portion's also big enough that I either split an order with someone or I'm guaranteed leftovers for later! read more

Ya know, I really like this little place. The wide range of dosas are fun! And the biryani is truly a hidden gem. My suggestion is to go there with a friend or two, order your dosas, and get a biryani "for the table" and share it. Dosa Corner.. My friends gave me good review about this place, so we a gang of 8 hungry men set out to Dosa Corner. We liked the Dosa (That is what we came for!!!). Idli, vada and chola puri were also good. But a few things changed the way I look at this restaurant. 1. Just adding chunks of Paneer to a normal Masala Dosa does not make it Paneer Masala dosa (If it does, then fine.. no complains). 2. We ordered Lassi and Mango Lassi. It lacked the sourness and the thickness of "Lassi". We complained about it and the waiter did not even bother to react about it (Completely upset about it). 3. Chai was not good. read more

Tonight was my first experience with Dosa Corner. The staff was friendly and invited me to sit while I waited for my takeout. The food was finished fairly quickly. I ordered the paneer masala dosa and onion pakora. The filling of the dosa was well seasoned with the perfect amount of spice but my dosa was a little greasy. For anyone who is sensitive to spice, there were sautéed jalapeño slices in the potato, onion and paneer filling. If that's too much spice, you might want to remove them before you dig in. The dipping sauces were a little watery and I ended up not using them on the mini muffin shaped pakora fritters. They had a nice little spicy bite and I enjoyed them but were not the best I've eaten. read more

While it may appear at first to be a bit of a hole in the wall sort of restaurant, they make up for it by being hands down the best south Indian restaurant in all of Columbus. Their Dosa's are wonderful and their uttapam is delicious. You must order Idli Sambar the next time you go. Few places make such a tasty and authentic Sambar, one sign is that they use Tamarind while many other restaurants don't. For those of you unaccustomed to this sort of Indian Cuisine, it is totally vegetarian, but you certainly won't notice a lack of meat or flavor! A must visit. (one note of caution is that they use peanuts, so those with allergies should probably stay away) read more

Worst possible service. We reached there around 4:45 PM, their website told us that the restaurant is open. When we reached there it was open. However, no one even came to talk to us. When we sat there like fools for 15 min, and then decided to leave, one person said, that they "start at 5 pm". Great Dosas served in a homely style. As most others have already pointed out, dosa place is great on food but a B-minus on ambience. No big deal for most desis as we rarely go to a desi restaurant in North America on a first date. There again, I wouldn't think twice before taking a client group for lunch to experience authentic South-Indian cuisine. (Must let the guests be prepared to be served in paper plates) Our group went with a toddler and the owner's daughter who was serving us took special care to ask if he wanted anything special. The kid loves idlis so he was good with a plate of idlis with ghee. Dosas and idlis are served within a few minutes of ordering while Uttapam may take upto 10 minutes. read more

I swear, these dosas are as good as ones you will find in India. If you've never had a dosa, it is a crispy, savory crepe made out of rice flour. It can be served plain, but the more yummy ones are stuffed with potatoes or paneer (Indian cheese). My standby is the paper paneer masala dosa, which is stuffed with potatoes and paneer--best of both worlds! "Paper" just means that your dosa will be super crispy. I don't think this exact item is on the menu, but the restaurant has always graciously accommodated my request. read more

I will give all stars because it satisfies what I was expecting. The name Dosa Corner would give you a small sense and definitely that is what it is. A small family owned restaurant feeding the customers with traditional, homemade Mommy style Vegetarian food. The plates are all disposable plastic and when it is busy you will not get a very good service (This is because probably there will be only one waiter). but when the food arrives you will not be disappointed its the BEST Indian vegetarian Food in Columbus!! The only other place to get food like this would be Udipi Cafe but it doesn't have the family touch which gives that unique taste. And its more expensive. Recommendations: Definitely get Dosas.. don't try and get a biryani if you are at Dosa Corner!! Get something different like Mirchi Bajji which are stuffed peppers (Hot but excellent!!) Get a combination plate (Dosa Thali etc) You will have enough to take home. Finally just don't get deceived by the outward look of the restaurant and bear the poor service at some time and after all its a family owned restaurant so expect GOOD food and nothing more. read more

One of the worst places. Their hospitality was the worst I have seen till date. I live in the states and have been to many Indian restaurants, but this was the worst. As soon as we entered the guy who was working there showed us our table and gave menus. We were waiting for 30 mins and yet no sign of him again. We weren't given any water to drink nor were we asked about the food for ordering. The restrooms were shabby as well. There were no parking spots available. Dosa Corner is not a bad Indian restaurant, especially when you want to eat on the cheap. A friend and I went last night and ordered the Vegetarian Tali, a combo plate that included two servings of vegetable curry, an appetizer, a dessert, papadum, poori, sambar, and rice. Our service was a bit odd--I assume the owner himself was serving us. When we ordered the combo plate, we weren't asked if we wanted any options--ie, which vegetable curries, which appetizer. I assumed when we weren't asked that they came with a standard selection, but we got different curries, so I'm not sure about that. Since he didn't ask when we ordered, I decided to ride it out, as I've never had an Indian dish I didn't like. We were served a pitcher of tap water which had a definite tap water flavor (I drink tap water at home all the time, but I'm sure you know what I mean... some tap water tastes more neutral than others) and plastic cups were provided. Our food came out relatively quickly; we both received the Medu Wada as our appetizer, which is a sort of a savory lentil doughnut; we both received a mixed vegetable curry (what I assume was the Avial Curry). My companion received Punjabi Chole, a chickpea curry, and I received Bindi Masala, an okra curry. Both of us received gulab jamun as dessert. Where to start? The Medu Wada was unmemorable, as was the yogurt sauce that I assume was meant to go with it. It was dense and not very flavorful. The vegetable curry (possibly Avial Curry) was very good, as was my companion's Punjabi Chole. My Bindi Masala was okay--it was a LOT of okra, and not something I would have ordered on my own. I like okra, but I have my limits on okra density in a dish. The papadum was tasty, and so was the sambar. The poori, I could have done without--it came out about halfway through the meal, and it was incredibly greasy, like deep-fried na'an that had been left to soak in its own oil. (My little plate had an oil puddle in the bottom of it.) The gulab jamun was standard, as were the rice and the tamarind chutney. For a $10 meal, I can't complain--but I would have been much more satisfied if I had been able to have Samosas instead of the Medu Wada, and if I had been able to choose my curries. The photos of the Uthappam dishes looked tasty, and I may go back to try those. All in all, I'd rank Dosa a solid 3.5--I'll probably go back someday, but I won't make it a frequent haunt. read more
