    Dos Caminos overpriced 3 Taquitos
    Mike R.

I'm only recommending Dos Caminos for 1 thing.... if you want to meet someone from out of town in Times Square and you want a seat to view all the action at that corner with TKTS. Otherwise: 1) The music was jacked up to the point we had to shout even though we sat right next to each other at the window counter, 2) Happy Hour prices are only at certain sections of the place, 3) It's ridiculously overpriced, 4) The food was OK, but there are many better Mexican spots a stone's throw away and elsewhere in the city. As my out-of-town friend who was at a hotel on W 46th noted, this is a place she knows I will never, ever go back to!

Gorgeous establishment and delicious food. Came here with my friend for an after broadway dinner. I loved the interior and the food. I had the taco bowl salad and a margarita. Both were delicious! I will definitely be back!

I love the location of this spot! It's right in Times Square and you can sit and watch all of the NY craziness from near the bar. I had fish tacos that were so yummy and filling & a passion fruit margarita. This place was super cute and affordable. Heads up they have a great happy hour but you can only take advantage of it if you are seated at the bar! I would come back :)

Queso Fundido (comes with 4 tortillas) and Beef empanadas (3) took the pic after my company started to indulge.

I've brunched at Dos Caminos before and always had the most pleasant experience. I've had my first dinner there and it was different. Margaritas (classic) tasted off. Almost artifical. Not sure if they used fresh limes. Couldn't even finish it. Apps seemed smaller, though delicious. Three entrees were served but two had to share a portion of rice and beans. I found it quite peculiar. I've never gone to a Mexican restaurant where rice and beans were shared with the table. Those entrees were the "Dos Enchiladas", which for what you got, the price point didn't seem to match. We were also told all entrees came with rice and beans. I got the crispy beef picadillo tacos. They were delicious and legit crunchy/crispy. My tacos held up perfectly and didn't break once bitten into. A very satisfying bite and I always appreciate a good sturdy taco. Nothing came with condiments. There was no salsa (save for a tiny thimble for my tacos), Pico de gallo or sour cream. I always found that to be a staple with any mexican dish. Perhaps they're doing things differently. I did end up asking for them. The ambiance is always on point as they have a ton of space to work with. It was lively and pretty busy. There is better Mexican but in the middle of Times Square, this will do just fine if you're looking for a quick, tasty bite.

This gem is a few steps off Times Square, like an oasis from that chaos. Margaritas are so good here, I loved the pomegranate one! We are from the Midwest (so lots of Mexican food experience) and this is my daughter's favorite place to go in NYC. She got the big bowl of tortilla soup - fabulous! Quesadillas also great! I think they have the BEST nachos ever, as they dressed each chip with beans & meat. Perfect! I will never have them the old way! Loved everything about this place!

Dos Caminos is a reliable chain of Mexican food. It's not bad but it's not necessarily good either for the price, hence the 3 stars. My friend & I both got the shrimp enchiladas which were alright. As for the drinks, I say stick with the wine versus the margaritas as they're way too sugary (& I love sugar). All in all, this is a solid grab & go spot for a quick pre-theater dinner.

Birria Tacos, Rosemary Pomegranate Margarita Both very good

Cute spot attached to the W Hotel Times Square. Was staying at the hotel so popped in for a quick lunch. Yummy Rosemary Pomegranate Margarita and delicious Birria Tacos. More bar space than table space -just fyi if they are busy, getting an actual low-top table with chairs might be difficult.

I went to Dos Caminos in Midtown for a team lunch with coworkers. We each ordered our own entrée and also got chips with salsa and guac for the table. The chips were great--I ended up eating a lot of it. I ordered the combo fajitas (steak and shrimp), based on the waitress's recommendation of popular dishes. Unfortunately, I think they gave me chicken and shrimp instead. Not a dealbreaker, but a bit disappointing. Service was okay--kind of hit or miss. They did a good job clearing plates and remembering to bring things we asked for, like the hot sauce (which helped bring some extra flavor to the dish). But overall, the experience didn't quite live up to the hype. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing really wowed me either. It felt more like a franchise spot trying to feel more unique than it actually is. Would I come back? Maybe. But I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

This restaurant was one of the few that were open and had seating readily available on Christmas night in Times Square. The food was good and wait time acceptable. I had the Birria tacos and my husband had the taco salad which looked amazing. The award-winning drinks we tried were just OK. My meal tasted delicious and authentic. The vibes were good. Only thing I didn't like was there was a literal line to use the bathroom. Maybe that's normal for establishments in Times Square. All in all, I'd definitely return.

The appetizers were mediocre, we had the beef empanadas, the services the bar was quick and good. The ambience has a nice Mexican vibe and feel

We liked this place. 4 of us on Cinco de Mayo with a 5:30pm reservation. Had to wait a bit to sit down and loud as can be! Overall very attentive waiter for as crowded as it was and loved my frozen margarita. For Times Square not the worst expensive spot and overall good queso.

I had such a great experience at Dos Caminos! My family and I went before going to a show. The food and drinks were all so tasty. We ordered the nachos for an appetizer and they were perfectly topped with the toppings and a good amount of meat. I personally ordered the fish tacos (beer battered). The fish was cooked perfectly and were perfectly dressed. I ordered a virgin blood orange mojito and it was really good. My family ordered the patron tower which included 4 frozen margs served in mini patron bottles. The presentation was nice and my family all said they can definitely taste the alcohol. My favorite item was the poblano cornbread. It was SO GOOD. It was so moist, especially with the butter and mouth watering. I literally couldn't stop eating it. I took a bite of everyone's food and everything was pretty tasty. My second favorite entree was the chicken quesadilla. The birria tacos I thought needed a little more salt. We ordered the churros which were decent...not the best churros I had and got hard pretty quickly.

My friend has been trying to get me to go to Dos Caminos, so finally we made a plan to get tacos before catching a movie. We didn't have a reservation, but we were seated promptly. For drinks, we got the Sangria Swirl. I enjoyed that drink--nice mix of margarita and sangria. For our entrees, we decided to get tacos. I got the beer-battered fish tacos, and my friend got the blackened fish tacos. We were supposed to share one of our tacos so we could try the different version, but we forgot. It was a good portion, and it comes with rice and beans. Esmeralda was our server, and she did a good job of making suggestions and providing good customer service. The restaurant is spacious, with a downstairs area, making it an ideal option for large groups.

A quick internet search led me to this tiny little takeaway window. There were a few people waiting around for their orders, but the service was quick, and super friendly. We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.

The steak was tender and had pretty good flavor. I just wish there was more. Especially considering the price. Certainly not a bad quesadilla but the value wasn't quite there. Still, a fine option if you want Mexican food and you are in the area. I'd say the 3.5 rating is pretty spot on.
