Beautiful and delicious cake for my daughter's birthday. Everything was great! The staff is wonderful too!! Thank you!

Chunks or unmixed margarine in cake

Nope. I'm going to stop coming here. It's only getting more disappointing. The original Levittown location was always fresh with homemade touches to their pastries, I even had my wedding care from there. It's been several years since the commack location opened and I frequently come because it's close to home. In the beginning my pastries very sometimes dry but sometimes good. This weekend, we picked up a cake for mother's day so it had to be fresh. Fast forward, the cake was fresh, too fresh. Designs on the cake were sloppy (which is no big deal, it's a holiday and they rushed, as long as it's fresh moist and delicious). What I didn't want, was these marshmallow looking pieces in my cake. I bought a chocolate cake with ganache, I didn't know it had marshmallow. Oh but it didn't have marshmallows, it was chucks of margarine...lots of it. Every slice had it. How are you going to even present this to customers? Your baker had to have seen it while frosting the cake. There's no care for quality anymore, if I wanted a mass produced cake, I could have gotten a whole sheet for half the price. I think I have given dortoni enough chances to redeem themselves.

Everything for my daughter's bridal shower was just perfect the cake was just what she described and tasted even better. It's really amazing the staff that had that could take her thoughts and make it a reality!! Can't say enough about how nice and professional the experience was !!

I had bought dessert from Dortini twice. My first time was strawberry cheesecake and I really like it. Lots of strawberry topping and the cheesecake wasn't too sweet. Second time I had cannoli cake. The cream was puffy and light. Cannoli cream was too sweet for me and the yellow cake wasn't as good as I hope. Since they have many different types of cake and open hour until 8pm, it's convenience to pick up some sweet after work. Price seems okay for bakery overall ($25-$30). Staffs are friendly. Inside is clean.

someone posted a rainbow cake with cannoli filling on the Long Island Foodie FaceBook group that looked SO good from this bakery. i tried it and absolutely loved it! was around $6 for this little mini cake. i also gotten a small oreo cheesecake from here and vanilla cake with sprinkles all over. those cakes for my birthday were like $23-$26 or something. i didn't need any writings on the cakes but as far as flavor goes, everything was delicious.

Super cute bakery in an unassuming strip mall not too far off the 495. They had some beautifully decorated cakes ready to buy on display but I opted to get a variety of mini cakes and pastries so far their fresh made donuts, the heels filled and glazed chocolate are delicious! Had a mini cannoli while on the road and loved the the filling was not too light and not too thick and had a had a nice vanilla and light citrus flavor to it. Their glazed lemon cookies were a bit dry and crumbly but really packed a huge lemon flavor which I loved. Their mini cakes were very good... Standout was their vanilla and chocolate cake enclosed in white chocolate. From what I could tell, they do a ton of custom cakes, with some advance notice, and one customer ahead of me was buying a cake and was singing praises about the gender reveal cake she had ordered and received the weekend before. Being a specialty cake baker myself, I'll have to order a custom cake and judge for myself soon. Looking forward to my next visit here!

strawberry short"cake", had no cake. just strawberry jam and cool whip

Tastes very cheap. Not quality at all. I got a chocolate mousse. It had a soggy layer of vanilla cake in it. The strawberry shortcake, absolutely disgusting. Way too much sugar. Also, cake was nowhere to be found. It was literally just some cheap strawberry sauce with coolwhip on top. They don't use real whipped cream.

Worth every penny! Cake was a hit and beautifully done.

This bakery is THE BEST. I will not go anywhere else. Not only was the cake beautiful and delicious, but when we went in to order it one little girl there gave my kids 2 free cookies.

The best bakery on Long Island! Levittown is much larger than Commack location, but both are consistent in having fresh pastries!

A coworker recently asked me to bring back some cookies since she knew I was flying home to New York. When she said she wanted good quality cookies, I already knew exactly where I was headed: Alpine. Every time I walk into this place it somehow feels like the first time. Maybe it's the nostalgia from going there with my family for so many years, or maybe it's because it's still family-owned and truly has that warm, welcoming vibe. The people who work there are always so sweet, accommodating, and kind, which just adds to the experience. When anyone brings up rainbow cookies, Alpine is honestly the first place that comes to mind for me. They're the only ones I really go to for them. For my coworker, I picked up a pound of assorted cookies so she could try a little bit of everything. Selfishly, I was definitely thinking I should've ordered a box for myself too! She absolutely loved them, which came as no surprise. If you want truly great Italian cookies and pastries, Alpine Pastry Shoppe is the only place that comes to mind for me. I'm so happy to see that they're still open, and I truly hope they remain a neighborhood staple for many years to come.

The inside Rainbow cookie is moist and dense. The chocolate outside was one of the best chocolate hardened glaze I have had in quite some time. **This is a weekend item** The inside is full of temptation. I also grabbed Easter bread and a Crumb Cherry Pie. You can order ahead of time and slip past the line to pick up inside on the right side.

I was so enticed by the whimsical, atypical flavors and the bright saturated colors. I finally ordered the 5 pack and chose these flavors: 'Cotton Candy', 'Strawberry Crumb', 'Chocolate Banana', 'American Dreamsicle' and 'Italian Rainbow Cookie'. I loved the way each donut was wrapped in plastic and placed so intentionally in its packaging - a sleek gold-colored box with a sticker bearing her logo (a 'C' for Chana that doubles as a donut with purple frosting on it and sprinkles). My boyfriend and I did a "tasting" together trying small ¼ pieces of each flavor. The 'Cotton Candy' (pink frosting with swirls of blue) had a subtle cotton candy flavor but was very sweet, the 'Strawberry Crumb' (bright red) was tart, delicious and one of my favorites. The 'Rainbow Italian Cookie' (covered in tiny green, red & white sprinkles) tasted just like the real cookie; so enjoyable with a pronounced almond flavor. The 'American Deamsicle' (covered in blue, red & white round sprinkles) tasted like orange and was pretty good. My absolute favorite was the 'Chocolate Banana' (a striking yellow with brown swirls), which had a more tolerable sweetness than the others. Overall, I enjoyed the donuts: the taste, the uniqueness and the colors. My only feedback is that I would like the donuts less sweet, so it is easier to eat a whole donut. I would rate Chana's Donuts 3.8 out of 5 stars, and I would definitely order again to try new flavors, or to get the 'Chocolate Banana' or 'Strawberry Crumb' flavors again :)
