Dorothy is awesome at what she does a she is also very nice and humble. I've been going to her for a couple years now and there has been I only three times I haven't went and I truly felt guilty. She has had a couple assistants, but the younger tan young lady is great as well. I highly recommend her services. Five stars for everything. Her mother also did many things for my sisters quinceañera. THE WAIT IS WORTH IT WHEN IT'S BUSY :) read more

AFTER NOT ONE BUT MANY TRIES.... If I could give this place zero stars I would... The service is sub par. Had a good experience once in six months, by an employee who is no longer there. Currently trying to grow my left eyebrow (for five weeks now) from the less than mediocre job they performed. The reason you go to a place like this is to leave feeling well groomed and confident, this is more than often not the case at Dorothy's. read more

They are the worst. May me wait over an hour because I didn't have an appointment. They kept taking everyone that walked in the door first they even waited for the person to arrive before they took me!! They could of told me that's what they are going to do!! I'll never go back there. read more

Long time customer. Will never come back because of Michelle's work ethic and the way she does things when dorthy is not around.

Glad I found this place! They are fast every time I go during my lunch break and they do a good job & not too expensive! Thanks a lot

Never knew my eyebrows could look so good until I started coming here lmao. Employees were super friendly and took about 5 minutes.

So I went in as a walk-in. Luckily the ladies were able to take me in. They followed all precautions due to COVID-19. All staff were wearing face mask, there was a Temperature check, plenty of hand sanitizers, plastic dividers between chairs and plastic seat covers for each customer. They were super polite and pretty quick. Will for sure return! read more

Love getting my eyebrows done here. My eyebrows are always on point. I have gone to other places and they have cut me or done my eyebrows thinner. They always leave my eyebrows how I want them read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE: I used to love this place! I would swear that it was the greatest place ever and would recommend it to my friends and family. Would I continue to recommend it? No, unless you want someone to like almost pull/cut your skin. Yup, that was my experience today! I have been threading my eyebrows and lip for years and years! I loved Norma she was the greatest but my experience has been getting worse and worse after she left. Don't get me wrong the place is clean and people greet you as soon as you walk in, so great hospitality. But the service today was horrible, once I sat in that chair and the first thread was placed on my eyebrow I knew that it was not going to be good. The owner Dorothy did my eyebrows and I have no idea if she was rushing or she was upset but she did it so rough and fast, no patience or attention to detail whatsoever. I get that it was a Friday evening but really?!?! My eyebrows were BUSHYYYYY and I only asked for a CLEAN and I walked out of there with thin ass eyebrows. Ugh!!! Then she went onto my lip and she was so rough tears actually came out of my eyes this time which really NEVER happens! Once she was done (thank god!) she asked if everything looked okay, I looked at the mirror and I didn't know if to cry or walk out because, well one my eyebrows were thin! and two my lip was in flames burning from the sensation. All I wanted to do was leave out of there. I walked out of there really thinking to myself "NEVER AGAIN!!" So if you go don't go on a Friday or weekend or if you do ask for someone else or three just don't go there! Do it for the eyebrows read more

Simple place. Great prices and friendly service. They seem to always be busy, which is a good sign! Nice little neighborhood place.

It took me a long time to find a place that actually did a good job threading Eyebrows. I use to get my Eyebrows done here all the time by Norma who did an amazing job every single time. I would show her what I wanted with a pic on my phone and she would do it exactly the same. Unfortunately, she's no longer there :( I've tried other girls there including Dorothy and I either get crooked or uneven eyebrows. This is bad for me since my eyebrows take a really long time to grow back. I'm going to try them once more and hope they get it right. Otherwise, I will have to hope to find someone as great as Norma. read more

I had never tried the threading before and after one of my friends suggested I try it I decided to stop in here. I came in with some scary brows that belonged on Bigfoot and they did a great job cleaning them up. They look great and the girl was super sweet. She suggested I get one of their stamp cards for a discount on the 10th visit. This will be my go-to spot from now on. read more

I use to get my eyebrows done by different people all the time until I found this place. Its close by, reasonable, and super clean. She also does waxing and facials now, she's very informative and positive. No complaints here, I come back everytime and leave with a smile. read more

My go-to eyebrow waxing place while on the south side. I love it here! Prices are reasonable and whenever I go there is hardly ever a wait. =) read more

Love getting my eye brows threaded and tinted by Helen or Dorothy, they all do amazing work!

First time getting my eyebrows threaded at Dorothy's on a whelm when my eyebrow appointment was canceled last minute.....It was an enjoyable experience will definitely be back!!! read more

Wow! I LOVE this place. I never got my eyebrows threaded (usually waxed) because I never lived close enough to a place that did it, however, I moved down to the south side a few years ago and just now decided to venture into the neighborhood. I am SO happy that I found this place. My eyebrows look amazing! It was fast and cheap! read more

Very clean and professional shop !! Don't be deterred if there are several people ahead of you--- threading doesn't take as long as waxing and the line moves pretty fast!!! Nice gals working in there too! read more

I love going to Dorthys. I always leave a happy customer great service and price, I will come to Dorthy for my eyebrow threading and Brazilian waxing she makes me feel comfortable and not awkward at all and i am happy with the result afterwards she does a great job.... I have never left disappointed (^_^) read more

Even though they're more pricey than Dilshad's on Devon St., Dorothy's has friendly and well-trained staff for local eyebrow threading. Be sure to keep your stamp card on you for a reduced price after your 9th visit. Only wish they were open on Sundays so I don't have to rush there after work before waiting in line. read more

I come here for eyebrow threading and a Brazilian wax, and I've never left disappointed. The staff is friendly and the owner dorthy is the sweetest. Dorthy does the Brazilian and she makes you feel comfortable. She is very conversational and easy to talk to, which distracts me from the pain of waxing. Lol. I usually make my wax appointments the morning of and never have an issue with booking. read more

I have been getting my eyebrow's threaded by Dorthy, the owner, for a couple years now. She opened this new shop after being trained by some of the best in Chicago. I go at least every two weeks and I have no complaints. Dorthy does an amazing job and you'll get tons of compliments. read more

Walked in without an appt and got the best pain free eyebrow threading I've ever had in my life!! I think her name was Libby. Idk but I'll be back in two months! Very clean place as well. Only $9 read more

What a warm, inviting shop. I decided to try threading. I've been waxing for years....I walked into the shop on a Saturday morning at 10 and Aetna took me right away. Forgive me if I am misspelling the name. This welcoming sweet lady did my brows and took very good care of me. She said it will take some time to get them where we both agreed we want them. Will be back!!!!!!!!! read more

Still consistently amazing ! Everytime i bring a friend here to threading they are blown away. All the ladies here do a superb job at threading! read more

Local and inexpensive. Great job with threading eyebrows. Never had a bad experience. The ladies are always nice.

Still a faithful customer after a year. Norma pays attention and know I like my brows full. Even when I wait to long to come in to her and start to jack my brows up with tweezers it doe g take long for her to whip my brows back into shape. And $9 is the cheapest I've ever found someone to do my brows. Can't top that. read more

Staff is always very nice and if there is a wait, they are welcoming while you wait. She has a nice selection of k-cup options for you to help yourself and a tv, they always have great music on! I've always left so happy with my results of threading, all of the girls are great! I always recommend Dorothy's to anyone asking where they can get their eyebrows done. read more

All I have to say is.... HELEN! She is the absolute best. I'm a crazy perfectionist about my eye brows and I've came to her about two months ago ... and have been back ever since. Not only did she do a FABULOUS job but she listened to me when I said clean up only. I highly recommend her. First person who actually doesn't make me nervous to get my brows done! THANKS HELEN read more

I don't know why everyone on these reviews is making a big deal about having to wait for good service. I'd rather wait than go to somewhere that's quick and does a good job. People are ridiculous for complaining about a half an hour wait. Also, Helena and Karina are the best! read more

Great work and cheap. Love this place everyone is friendly and professional. During the week there's no wait.

moved to the area a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised to find a threading place in the neighborhood! Everybody there is great, they always ask you what you want and listen to you rather than saying "yeah yeah I know I know." if you're like me, finding a good consistent brow place that doesn't butcher your brows to thin lines is essential in life, and loyalty is everything when it comes to brows :) Dorthy the owner is super nice and kind. Go! you won't be disappointed read more

Was excited to come here after reading so many great reviews. I must say the employees were very nice and willing to answer any questions. But I walked out with my left brow slashed and over plucked. Needless to say, I won't be coming back. read more

It was my first time here, I had been going to the same place for years but decided to try something new. The place is really nice and the staff is also nice. I went to get my eyebrows done and something I did not appreciate was the fact that I was explaining to the lady how I wanted my brows done and tried showing her pictures and she didn't even bother to look. I decided to get them done with her anyways. Well she did not give me what I wanted and my brows are naturally very thick and they came out thinner and straight. She did not arch them whatsoever not even a little bit to give it shape. I thought about coming back but I don't think I will :/ read more

I had my eyebrows done for the first time on Saturday and they came out better then expected. I live that they have a point system so you can accumulate as you go.i will definitely be coming back! read more

Well what can I say about Dorthys. I've been going there for about two years now at first I was very very pleased with a specific girl who did my eyebrows her name is Norma. I cannot tell you how much I take care of my eyebrows and how loyal I am to doing my eyebrows every two weeks no matter what I don't touch my eyebrows I just let them grow until I go and get them threaded. unfortunately my girl Norma has now left and is no longer at Dorthy's I still continue to go because it's convenient and they do eyebrow threading and for the most part the girls there know what they're doing however I prefer to have Dorothy do my eyebrows the only PROBLEM is that I've noticed sometimes Dorothy doesn't like for people to wait on her to do eyebrows. I personally in my opinion think that everyone is different and everyone does their eyebrows differently if I like someone to do my eyebrows a specific way I would want that one person to only touch my eyebrows an eyebrow specialist knows what they're doing to your eyebrows how their shaped to your face and how much detail goes into your eyebrows. for that reason I am considering switching and finding a new person only because I don't feel comfortable in going inside of that place and asking for Dorothy herself. It's unfortunate that I have to give this bad review but I just feel that eyebrows is something that is really popular and that everyone is trying to get a good eyebrows therefore we care about eyebrows I don't know what everyone else thinks but I personally have struggled a very long time with my eyebrows and to have finally gotten them to where I want and just have anyone else touch my eyebrows and risk messing them up it's something that I'm not willing to do..... let me know if anyone else has noticed this bad experience. read more

The place is clean, there's complementary water as well as coffee and tea, and the wait is long. All that is keeping me from giving them one star. The reason why I'm giving them such a low rating is because the girl who did my eyebrows was extremely rude! At first I thought that it was just her normal face but no, I was wrong. She obviously was upset and let it out on me. Normally when I do my eyebrows it doesn't hurt so bad but the girl was hurting me and I let her know. Instead of going a little more gentler she went harder. I would've asked for someone else but the other girl was busy with this older women and I was in a hurry so I let the girl working on me finish. I suggest anyone going to this location on a Tuesday afternoon to ask for the girl with glasses and avoid the other girl. As for me, I think I will continue going to Riya Threading Lounge. It's in the north side but it's worth going since the lady there is gentle and never lets her anger out on you. read more

I have been coming here for a little over 4 months since having a friend recommend me here for eye brow threading, and let me say that I'm definitely a loyal customer. They definitely have that down! Decided to try out other services besides the threading and I'm pleased to say that I shall look no further for waxing or threading needs. I book appointments for a Brazilian waxing with no hassle on the same day. Being that this was my first place that I'd actually got the BW done at,(which as we girls know it's no walk in the park!),Dorothy has always been so nice and welcoming that I nearly forget what I'm in there for to begin with! Staff is great, cute little spot on Archer Ave, with plenty of street and rear parking. Prices are also very inexpensive. What is there not love about this place! I hope to try this place for some eyelash extensions soon, I'm sure they won't fall short from looking amazing. read more

First visit, great experience. No parking on front side of business. Walk in welcome . Very nice employees. Not too bad on prices. They also have a rewards program read more

If I don't get my eyebrows done here, they don't look good. It's as simple as that. I have had my eyebrows done all over the city and suburbs and no one understands my eyebrows' arches the way the women here do. They're clean and quick and the price is perfectly reasonable. You have to ring the doorbell or knock to get in which I often forget. Aside from that, I love this place. read more
