Salon had a strong smell of nail polish remover. Owner/stylist was very chatty and fun but I was praying carelessness wouldn't transfer onto my service. During the wash: my helix piercing was hit hard, which caused bleeding and really ruined the experience. I never expected to leave a hair appointment injured. The haircut was uneven as well; not sure if that's how textured cuts are supposed to be, but overall it added to my disappointment. I really wanted to love this place but just couldn't. Honestly expected more from a stylist that cut hair with more than 20 yrs of experience. read more

So I called and Cynthia answered she was so polite and answered all my questions very informative and I felt good in talking to her over the.phone so I made an appointment. I had a color change and she was very transparent in the maintance of my hair and how to keep it from fading out so quickly. I week ago I had gone to a different location because I broke a nail at the OC fair and needed it fixed asap well the nail technician where amazed by Nayeli work they kept on asking me about her techniques. This itself amazed me and my sister who was there with me. Nayeli work is awesome and for other nail techs to admire work done by her is a big compliment. ( I wasn't able to have it fix by her because I was not near her and I'm a little OCD when it comes to my nails). I have been going to Isabel for over 3 years now and NO ONE, I repeat, NO ONE, takes care of my hair in the way that Isabel does. I have really thick and full hair and every time I got to salons, they are always thinning it out or cutting it down in a very choppy way. Because of this, my hair will grow out and be easily broken or split. Isabel, however, knows hair like a pro. She can easily pinpoint the weak spots in my hair and is able to gentle remove the damage without taking out my volume or length. On top of that, she ACTUALLY listens to what her clients say. When I talk to her about my hair goals (in general and also for my wedding), she listens and does exactly what I am looking for while talking to me about what is good or not. She shares her professional opinion while giving me the look I am going for. Her haircuts leave my hair still full but amazingly soft and smooth while finding a balance of style and cut. I also love Isabel's vibe and energy. When she cuts hair, she goes into this peaceful state and caresses the hair with her scissors in such a loving and graceful way. You can really tell how much she loves her work and cares for her clients and their hair. It's fun to watch her. Hahaha (is that a little weird? oh well, it's true hahahah) I love her and her work so much that I brought my sister to get her hair cut. My sister has always had issues figuring out the right length for layers, shape for her curtain bangs, and flow for her hair. Isabel sat with my sister and talked to her for while to truly understand what she was looking for. After she finished with my sister's hair, my sister had a smile on her face that I have never seen after she has gotten a haircut. Then, Isabel took extra time to explain how to style it, show her different techniques and tools, and help my sister play with her hair. Would not recommend getting a haircut with Cynthia if you have thick hair - she mentioned at the beginning of the cut that she doesn't thin out hair too much. I spent 2 years growing my hair out and she reduced at least half of my hair density. Extremely disappointed with my cut. Again - I asked for layers. I didnt ask for thinning shears to be run all over my hair. Those should be mutually exclusive and all the reference pictures I shared with the stylist were clear of having a thick layers. read more
