Used Doorage to store everything from my apartment while traveling for 6 months. I ended up using their storage for over a year. When I initiated the storage, I was told that all moving costs in/out would be included with my monthly storage fee. However, when I moved in to my new apartment, I was hit with an $80/man/hour moving fee plus another $75 fee to pick up the eco boxes that I had used to pack my things. So ridiculous! Also, they damaged two of my furniture items and now I have to fight them to claim reimbursement. They are deceptive and would not recommend them to anyone! read more

Absolutely the worst service EVER!!! Merchandise was stored in July 2021 moved to us in January 20222. Paid for insurance , missing boxes , filled claims , damaged merchandise, missing luggage . Filed claim , they located one thing and took a 3 months to get it . Still several boxes missing . We have been more than patient , no follow ups no checks , when they were getting paid from us the were in touch. This has turned out to be a nightmare for my family. They quoted our cross country move at $25K (already steep!) and then we got a surprise bill at the end for $38K - - a 50% markup!! - - even though we listed out all of our inventory and did a virtual walk through to agree upon the volume of stuff + number of stairs in advance. They also broke two pieces of furniture and refused to pay for them due to some fine print in the contract. A couple of years ago, I moved from the city to the country: sold my house in the city -- a common Covid story. I hired Doorage to remove all of my personal belongings after I sold my condo. They are professionals; the movers are customer-focused; hard-working; gentlemen. I had originally given Doorage 5 stars. But as I started to unpack my stuff, so much was broken: the Tiffany lamp; the dresser; the antique China cabinet. The cost I saved in moving ended up costing me more in replacing things that were broken. I wonder if their business model could be improved if they took better care of my stuff while in storage? I suspect that it was shrink wrapped, palletized, and fork-lifted onto high shelving? No bueno. read more

If I could give this storage company NO STARS, I would. Unfortunately this company is too good to be true. I first found out about them from a flyer stuck in my mailbox. Great! A storage company that'll pick my items up and drop them off when I need them. The first time I used them, I put my entire winter wardrobe into storage. Pickup was pretty seamless, they called me 30 minutes ahead of time as stated and arrived on time within the allotted window. Although I was pretty disappointed the storage boxes they provide were microscopic, I could deal seeing that 4 boxes cost me $58/mo. The second time I used them, I stuck 2 of my bf's large "Barcelona" chairs in there which bumped the prices up to $100 per month. Again, no problem. Finally when I needed to retrieve my winter wardrobe, I took all 4 boxes out and the price remained at $100/mo. So I called them up and inquired why the price hadn't gone down. The CEO told me that he "crunched the numbers" and said that it would cost me more to store those two chairs than if I switched plans. Apparently the "more you store, the more you save." Hmmm interestingly enough, this isn't explicitly stated or implied on the website. IN FACT, after going through the "Terms" section on their website (see screenshot), Doorage claims to only charge you for the "EXACT volume of storage used," and idk about you, but 4 boxes is not equivalent to the volume of 2 Barcelona chairs. And in which case they are, still, when removing them and keeping the chairs (6 items - 4 items = 2 items), the price should have gone down. Anyhow, I called them Tuesday, October 30th and requested my last two items (the Barcelona chairs) to be delivered to me. I was told no one could get out to me until Thursday, November 1st. They gave me a time slot between 4-7pm. I asked if it could be delivered at 6:30pm once I returned home from work. Luckily I came home early because my items were delivered at 4:15pm. I received the first call at 3:59pm (under the "30 minute rule") and didn't answer due to the unknown number (and assuming my items would be delivered much later). Nevertheless, delivery went smoothly. However, I assumed because I placed the order for delivery on Tuesday (October 30th) that I would not be charged $100 for the entire month of November. Wow I was wrong, Joanne the Scammer BACK AT IT AGAIN. So I called Doorage up and asked for a refund. Their garbage billing associate stated that because my items were not delivered before Nov 1st, I would not receive a refund, despite requesting a delivery two days earlier. Apparently it's "stated on the website" that you need to "plan ahead." Well, if I could drive up there and get my belongings myself, I would! Obviously. You wouldn't charge someone $1,600 in rent just because they're moving out on the first, would you? No. Even when going through more of the "Terms" section under pricing and terminations, there's nothing that that explicitly states Doorage is subject to charge you for the entire month of unused storage due to them not being able to get out to you sooner rather than later. The website does not state that I need to "plan ahead" in order to retrieve my items before the 1st of the new month. So here I am, out of $100 and paying these scammers for storage that I will not be using. It wouldn't surprise me if they tried charging me next month too, so I will do my best to remove my card from their website. So please everyone, please be aware! Not all startups and new-and-cool companies are good or know what they're doing. They definitely have a learning curve and here's to hoping it starts now! read more

Be caution when you use the Doorage to move your stuffs. Make sure you use their packaging materials & pay them to pack "professionally" for you, of course, there are fee with this type service. Your insurance protection plan you bought from Doorage does not cover any damage to your items if you pack the item yourself with your own materials. Doorage damaged my lamp, broken my glass table, scratched my end tables after I used their storage service for 3 months. I filed a claim and they denied my claim because I did not use their packing materials and I did not let them pack for me. I will not use Doorage for any future move and I don't recommend it anymore. I did not give them 1 start because they showed up on time, it's very important to me because the condo has a time limit for using the building freight elevator. read more

It's taken me a week to write this review. Our 800 mile move with Doorage was terrible. At 42yo, I've moved plenty. To start, Doorage did not reach out on move day until they were 13 minutes away. When they arrived at 8:45am (for an 8am move), they had to wait to access the freight area (which they would have not have had to wait if they were on time). They called 13 minutes ahead, not the promised 30-45 minutes ahead. They assigned a 3 person crew for our 700 square foot apartment downtown Chicago to NYC. It was horrible. Miserably slow. It took them over 3 hours to complete our move and was misquoted $422 as to what we'd owe in addition to what we were originally quoted. Oh, and not a single one of the 3 men wore deodorant. The 3 were anything but professional and threatened to not move our power base for our bed. The move out was so bad I gave up and asked them to just leave. It was less emotionally exhausting at that point to replace items than to have them move the items. In NYC, again, they were late by an hour. The lead reported staying in Danville, PA overnight (about 3 hours away without traffic). I observed him making the turn onto our street and he really struggled with the van. In NY, it was only our lead mover who I saw get out of his truck in his slippers. I stopped trying to communicate to management about the lack of professionalism. Despite them being unprofessional and inexperienced, we were still liable for the additional charges (although the $422 originally quoted was miscalculated). This was easily the worst move I've ever been a part of. I cannot recommend Doorage to anyone, ever. Go elsewhere and avoid overage charges with elevators and the stress and headaches. read more

I moved my Mom in with me and my family. She didn't want to get rid of anything but we don't have room for her stuff at my house so we looked into storage spaces and found Doorage. First they came out with bins and clothing boxs. We spent the next couple days filling the bins n boxs. Doorage returned on a Sunday, the only day I was available. They took the boxs and bins, and shrink wrapped all the furniture, put protective packaging around the more important furniture, and hauled it all away. They were fast, considerate, careful, polite, respectful and friendly. They joked around with my Mom yet were still very professional. On top of all that, they were a little cheaper for the space we needed, and the money I saved on a uhaul and days off of work, not to mention I barely lifted a finger in the whole ordeal, I would definitely recommend Doorage to absolutely anyone looking for storage. read more

Pretty bad service. They overcharge for all the fancy wrapping they want to put on. If you provide those same wrappers they don't take any guarantees. Ultimately they broke multiple lamps snd other items during the process.I used their storage service too for couple of months and when I got my stuff back there were stuff missing. They did not look for the lost items. At the beginning, I gave Doorage a fighting chance and the benefit of the doubt on a few weird quirks they had, as I assumed it was partly due to being a new company. However, one recent happening has made me reconsider - Doorage made me buy an insurance policy and then wouldn't allow me to file a claim against it when my furniture was returned damaged! I was even talked into purchasing a more expensive plan, because "if anything were to be damaged, the Basic Protection plan wouldn't cover much." When my items were returned, my TV stand came back with chunks of wood gauged out behind the drawers. I tried to reach out to staff twice with no response. Finally, on my third try, someone called back attempting to tell me that based on the pictures of the damage, there's "no way" they could be at fault for it. He went back and forth with me about the construction of the TV stand and what types of motions could have caused the damage without being able to see it in person. He then had me send a receipt of my purchase for the item in question to prove its value. Ultimately I was told that all they would offer was to try and repair it themselves. I didn't buy an insurance policy for no reason and I certainly didn't buy it to have some guy tell me he would stop by my place and slap a little glue on my damaged furniture instead. To be clear, I didn't want a full replacement of my TV stand, I just wanted some sort of a good faith refund on the insurance policy. I honestly never received any insurance policy documents and so I don't even know if a policy exists... I probably just paid them an extra $20 a month for nothing. I am still waiting on an acceptable resolution and I've had my items back for almost 2 months at this time. My advice: Do your due diligence and request copies of everything you're supposed to be purchasing, review all invoices and charged amounts, and don't sign anything until you read all the fine print. read more

Doorage is a great company with great employees. They gave me a window of 7-1 and came shortly after 7 and left before 9. It was so quick and easy. They provided all the materials and took care of all the large items I had selected and even some that I forgot to add to my move. Sam was very great in helping with my billing. The first time I hired this company, they gave me a quote, came out then gave me a bill for over double, however their manager corrected the amount,. My daughter and I used them again to do a major move, this time they sent two experienced, fair, and efficient workers: Dean and John. everything went off without a problem. they brought cartons , helped load them, moved them, took down a bed, delivered a bed from storage and put it together. all in time and for the quote we expected. Easily One of the Best Moving Experiences I've Ever Had I contacted doorage to help me store my things temporarily while I was away for the summer. From pickup to final drop-off, everything was a breeze. Their eco bins save you the trouble of worrying about buying boxes and they break down (to save you money!) or wrap up any big items you might have. I thought the website portal was very useful too. It's an easy way to schedule pick-ups and deliveries and remember all the stuff you tossed into storage. Anytime I had a question or an issue I received a prompt response and solution to the problem! Nothing ever felt like a hassle. Doorage is a great company to work with. I never felt like I was getting ripped off, and in fact many times the movers helped save me money. Mike and Dean are legit and made sure everything was handled smoothly and professionally! By the way, the ultimate costs ended up being crazy cheap compared to the competition. I was totally okay with Doorage until I realized that they didn't use the card I provided over the phone. My amount for storage was supposed to be prorated too. So I have about $90 in additional fees. They weren't transparent about what I would have to pay the day of. Please do not use this company. I purchased this groupon that was $400 towards the total invoice, which was fine. I also placed a $200 deposit, which also goes toward the total invoice. All together I had a $600 credit. I called to schedule the move, and was told that I would need 3 movers with 26ft truck. They send 2 young men, with a 22ft truck. They movers broke my bed, by breaking the side post from the end drawers. They also broke my treadmill. They then charged me an additional $356, saying that I went over the time and capacity, even though all my items were listed on my order. When I tried to explain my position, the supervisor on the phone instructed the movers to hold my tv hostage, and extort me for more cash. Doorage said that they would conduct an investigation, but they continue to charge my credit card (that they have "on file"), and no one is answering my calls. They telephone supervisor also called me a Bitch over the phone. I had just bought my 1st home and this should have been an easy happy move, but instead it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I will also be reporting them to the BBB. read more

We had a very complicated move which involved us moving from one condo to another but needed temporary storage in the middle. Doorage and the staff have gone above and beyond to make this painful process pleasant. Dean and his team of movers delivered the bins on time. Don't use this company. The movers damaged the wall in the hallway. They admitted it, took pictures, and yet the company refused to take responsibility for it. They did not call me to ask what happened, or send anyone out to look. When I complained they said that their movers denied causing the damage and they would not reimburse me. If I could give lower than 1 star I would. Literally every time I checked my account I had some extra charge added that I shouldn't have been charged for. They charged me a whole month's worth of storage that I never used, and had to call 5 times to even talk to anyone about it. They never call you back when you leave a message. While I did get that refunded, it took far longer than it should have. I was then charged *after* cancelling my account for supposedly throwing out an item which I never even had of theirs, which they actually never refunded me for despite never even having it. DO NOT EVER use this company to move. This company was moving me into my apartment when they damaged the hallway while trying to get my couch up. They completely destroyed my hallway, and then when I called to complain, Melissa (the manager) had to audacity to say that I TOLD them they could ruin the walls. Obviously, I would never say that, I am an educated, responsible woman who knows not to ever damage a wall, let alone ones I do not own. Melissa offered no apologies or empathy, instead, she just said it was my fault and that I was irresponsible. I am not a professional mover, the men who moved my couch are, and they should know not to force a couch upstairs when it does not fit. Once again, a company taking advantage of a young woman and blaming them for being "irresponsible". They refused to use their insurance to pay for my damaged hallway, therefore I had to pay out of my pocket after already paying Doorage over $1400 for my local move. THEN, I realized that they had lost TWO OF MY BOXES that included belongings worth over $700 dollars. It has been almost a month and they still cannot locate my missing boxes. I have received no apology from Doorage or help. I have to continue to call and see if they have found them, they have never called me to keep me updated. They have awful customer service and they are an awful moving company. I am out of hundreds of dollars for the hallway damage that they caused, and I am out of over $700 for the boxes they lost.
